White Jamoon

This place is relatively new and a bookmark along with being the restaurant of the week. Butler WI is not known for a diverse food scene and this Jamaican restaurant is way out of place to start with. The place has a cool lounge vibe and probably the coolest place in Butler WI. My service was friendly and fast.I would have to go with the classic jerked chicken meal as my first time trying the place that comes with jerked chicken, mini hot corn on the cob, rice/peas and cabbage. The cabbage was probably the best from a Jamaican restaurant that I can remember because it was spicy. The corn cob was also very good because it was cooked in a broth of some sort and very different from regular corn on the cob. The rice and peas were also good with some spice but lacking any depth of flavor. The jerked chicken was good with moist meat and that classic dark skin but it needed the jerk sauce on the to get its flavor potential on point.Overall was the food good, yes. Was it the best jerked chicken no because that south side place is still my favorite. Would I go back for more of the menu, definitely.

White Jamoon has only been open for a few weeks, so they're new to the jerk chicken scene in the Milwaukee area. First chance I could after finding out about them I stopped in to give there's a try. I ordered the jerk chicken, which came with rice and peas and pieces of boiled corn on the cob.The jerk chicken is good. Maybe a little on the dry side, but not too much. It would be nice if the thighs were not cut up into such small pieces, but that's only a minor complaint.I thought the rice and peas were very bland. I only had a couple bites and didn't eat the rest. The corn would have been better without the jerk rub on it just to contrast the chicken a bit better.The menu doesn't have any prices listed, which is kind of weird. It also doesn't say if any of the entrees come with sides, so I had no clue that I was paying $18+ for my meal and that it came with rice and peas and corn. My fault for not asking, but at the same time the menu should be a little more descriptive.Given the sides, I'd only want the jerk chicken again, but other places like Fiyahside and Pepperpot have better jerk chicken in my opinion. I'd be interested in trying the jerk baby back ribs though.

This is a dope spot. I came here after I had gotten my hair done across the street. My hairdresser had recommended the place, because of the yummy food. I went in, and the hostess was super polite. They offered me a sample of their delicious food by asking me what I was interested in trying. I said the jerk chicken and the pasta slurp bowl. They hooked me up with that sample, it was soooo good! I got two meals. They are very friendly and the food is super fresh and delicious!!! The jerk chicken is real authentic jerk and not that phony imitation crap other restaurants try to serve! The ambiance is great as well. It's very clean and the music is popping. Those greens are super fire too!!! I absolutely will be coming back!

FANTASTIC food!! We got oxtail (with their recommended pasta dish), jerk chicken, seafood gumbo, curry chicken, red beans and rice. All amazing. 10/10 recommend.

The curry chicken and cabbage was good. I'll be back to try more of the menu like, the oxtails and beef short ribs

Highly, HIGHLY recommend. Excellent service, warm staff and the food is so delicious. Truly authentic Caribbean jerk, excellent plantains, the gumbo roux is rich and flavorful.It's hidden in plain sight In Butler, but you are missing out if you don't give it a try.Prices are reasonable and the portions are very generous.

The food was fantastic! I can't recommend this restaurant enough! I went with my family and we had jerk chicken, jerk ribs and gumbo. I thought the jerk chicken was some of the best food I've ever had until I had a bite of the jerk ribs which were even better. Service was great, we felt right at home, owners were super friendly!

White Jamoon is a little unassuming corner restaurant that packs a punch of flavor. I went there with a group after being recommended by a friend, and was very impressed. The husband and wife team that run the place were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home.I ordered the curry chicken for myself but I did also sample the jerk chicken and gumbo from others in my group. The chicken dishes came with some seasoned potatoes, cooked cabbage, a piece of sweet corn, and a rice option. We all selected the peas and rice with our meals. Note that these are chickpeas, not green peas. The seasoned potatoes and corn were good, the cabbage was even better, and the peas and rice were great! Everything was seasoned nicely.The chicken and gumbo were the real stars. All of the chicken was fall off the bone tender. The curry chicken was heavily seasoned with a curry sauce, but not in a bad way. If you like curry, you'll want to get this. The jerk chicken was the best that I've encountered in the Milwaukee area with a heavy crust of jerk seasoning. I'm a big fan of chicken and sausage gumbo, and their version is perfect.A great dining experience all around. Please do give it a try.

Ate dinner here today and everything was great. The ambience was very much like Jamaica. Greeted immediately and reviewed the menu, which changes daily. The food was delicious- we had jerk chicken and the chicken/sausage gumbo and would recommend them bothWe will definitely eat here again!

The food is super good and the service is always quick! Everyone there is really friendly and welcoming, and they always have new things to try.
