After driving by a few times, I've been dying to try this tiki bar in Wauwautosa. Parking was easy to find on the main road and side streets. Inside is decorated in true tiki fashion and it was a very cool vibe. In the summer the outside patio would be nice. We ordered drinks and entrees. I got the island smoke which was great! Good balance of mezcal and passionfruit. Highly recommend! For an entree, I got the wauwautiki smash burger with crack fries. Food was just ok. I would stick to getting drinks here as there is an extensive drink menu. Smaller food menu. Service was great and they helped us pick drinks and food

We used to eat here on a fairly regular basis but hadn't been for quite a long time. We always loved it!We returned and were very disappointed! The menu was much smaller and so was the drink menu. We ordered the fish fry me fried, my wife baked. My wife's fish came out basically cold, no seasoning or coating just a piece of cod put in the oven and served. My fried fish was coated and fried but was not crispy and had no flavor. Service was ok. One of the servers was obsessed with peoples empty glasses and kept picking them up. She grabbed my wife's drink and my wife had to tell her she wasn't done. Very rude. There was no atmosphere in the place at all! I am sorry that the only truly (as far as I know) gluten free restaurant in the Milwaukee area just isn't that good anymore!! Sorry!!If you are looking for a great cocktail you can't go wrong, but the food.......

Critic Rating: 4.45Scores:- Food: 4.5 * 30% = 1.35- Service: 5.0 * 20% = 1.00- Value for Money: 3.0 * 20% = 0.60- Ambiance: 5.0 * 15% = 0.75- Uniqueness: 5.0 * 15% = 0.75___________________________________________Here's a formula that expresses the quality of a restaurant on a 1-5 scale, considering key factors. Each factor is rated from 1-5, and then weighted according to its importance. Formula: Q = wf*F + ws*S + wa*A + wv*V + wu*U Where:- Q = Overall Restaurant Quality- F = Food Quality: The taste, freshness, presentation of dish.- S = Service: How attentive, friendly, & informed the staff is.- A = Ambiance: Atmosphere, cleanliness, decor, and feel.- V = Value for Money: Balance of price, quantity, & quality.- U = Uniqueness: Novelty of concept, menu, & experience. Weights (w):- wf = Weight of Food Quality (30%)- ws = Weight of Service (20%)- wv = Weight of Value for Money (20%)- wa = Weight of Ambiance (15%)- wu = Weight of Uniqueness (10%)___________________________________________Comments:Expectations and rating standards should be context-sensitive relative to the type of venue under review. You wouldn't expect Michelin-star meals from your favorite dive bar, right? So if you're judging a bar, don't slam it for food that isn't fine dining. Bars are about the vibe, drinks, and comfort food.

I feel like there are somewhat limited places to go to in Tosa compared to the downtown area and I'm always so excited when I find a place with great food and drinks!! Wauwatiki has a very tropical interior and their drinks all came out so beautifully on theme. I tried the Island smoke and Pedro Serrano because I love my drinks spicy and / or smoky and they definitely hit the mark. Also got a wauwatiki burger which was great but the fries really cinched it for me. Love this place for some casual drinks or a dinner/drink hang out or date!!

We had a group of about 9 people on a Saturday evening around 10:30. We were immediately told that they were "completely full" and there is no way they could get a table to accommodate all of us. We understood and were just going to grab drinks at the bar, when the waitress then said "well we do have a booth, but it'll probably only fit 6-7 people max." We took the booth and were easily able to get all of us with a chair on the side, which the staff did not have any problems with. While the bar was busy, it wasn't super loud and it was easy to hold a conversation at our table. After that, the service was great and the drinks were tasty! The popular drinks at our table were definitely the Water of Life and Mai Thai. The Water of Life tasted like boozy coconut water and was so easy to sip and have more than one - which could be dangerous! It was very light and tasted super good to boot.I would definitely come back to try some of their other drinks if they're as good as the Water of Life was!

Amazing spot to check out for unique and fun drinks on north ave!! I will say the food seems a bit expensive but the serving sizes are large- I liked the fried rice! Definitely recommend the water of life drink but they all have been delicious

Overall, pretty decent! The atmosphere is adorable, with cute decor all around the restaurant. Likewise, the drinks are all served in fun cups, which is very cute. I would love to come back just for drinks sometime! The entire menu is gluten free, which I think is awesome (but explains why the menu is a tad random). It truly doesn't make a difference in taste, everything was great. Definitely try the crack fries! My Hawaiian fried rice could have used a little sauce of some sort, but the portion was huge and it was still very tasty. I would love to come back and try some of their other menu items.

My boyfriend and I have lived in the wauwatosa area for well over 4 years and have never tried wauwatiki until tonight. Upon walking in Jimmy the wonderful bartender and wonderful trainee Sydney greeted both of us as we sat at the bar. The drinks were amazingly delicious and the food was outstanding. Both Jimmy and Sydney were extremely attentive, polite, friendly and genuine. The atmosphere was a super chill vibe with colorful lighting and decorations all around. I think it's safe to say we will be returning here more often. Honestly will be one of my new favorite places for food and drinks, they hit it out of the park! Thank you to Jimmy and Sydney, keep up the amazingly great service!

Decided to grab a late dinner on our way back from an event. With a Google search decided to try Wauwatiki since it was on the way back and open until 1am according to Google. They were in fact open with still an hour of kitchen time (arrived just around 9pm). We sat inside so that way we could still have the cool cups, which ended up in us ordering drinks (lol) which wasn't necessarily in the plan! The drinks are extremely reasonably priced most being $10-12. We ordered three things to share: Jerk Tacos, Pretzel Bites and Crack Fries. The fries were good and delicious in the cheese dip that came with the pretzels. Now the pretzels she did warn us that the middle is a bit doughy since they are gluten free. It was nice to have said warning or we would have really felt a certain way about them- fun fact they are a gluten free establishment- they are a bit more "doughy" then we expected. The Jerk Tacos were amazing.
