Waterfront Restaurant at The Abbey Resort

We were looking for somewhere to eat and after going to all the recommended places, "that were closed" we passed this restaurant several times and said "what da hell". We entered and we're met by a happy face whom was also polite and friendly. We sat next to the fire, it was Veterans Day and off season so it was quiet. The restaurant was a typical Wisconsin restaurant. Cozy, warm, with some regulars at the bar. We started with traditional Mai Tai for me and fruity Mai Tai for my date. We eventually doubled up on those. We started with an appetizer good old-fashioned Wisconsin cheese curds, lightly battered fresh cheese very delicious. I would recommend a sprinkle of bacon bits on top of it but that's just me. My date ordered the shrimp tacos and when they came out I was surprised by the size of the shrimp, as was my date. I on the other hand had the lightly breaded chicken with a lemon cream sauce on top of garlic mashed potatoes. Both of our entrees were delicious. Our waitress was a lil doll, she was also out hostess, so she kept the smile going, and she asked if I was a veteran and gave us a discount on our bill. I imagine during peak season that this place is busy, plenty of inside room and a outside upper deck that overlooked the lake with a beautiful sunset. Can't wait to come back in the summer, if I can get a table. I definitely recommend this restaurant for lunch or dinner. It is not a fine dining restaurant but I'm not too big on those anyway.

I came in for a quick bite to eat and the food was delicious! Once seated it took 15 minutes for a server to even bring water, I ordered the pretzel which made up for the slow service!

First time at the Abbey and while celebrating me and my husbands anniversary, we wanted to grab some food on property. We ordered and waited for over an hour and all we received were our drinks in that time. We were the first people there and smallest party and after an hour we sat and watched as big party's received their food. And for all that all they wanted to do is offer a discount on our food that we didn't receive. Will not be returning. Do not recommend at all.

Would not recommend this place. We sat down with three children, ordered our drinks and food after waiting for 10 minutes. The drinks including the waters came 15 minutes later. Some of the food arrived 45 minutes later. My husband and friend sat there waiting and watching everyone eat, until their tacos finally came out. The children's order was also incorrect but we had no choice because the children were starving at this point so they just ate it. Food not great either.

Great service, not so great food. It was dead when I went on a Thursday night, lots of staff hanging around. There are better places in the area.

We had a large group and we're seated at several tables. We asked the waitress if we could have separate checks by family. She told us no but when it was time to present the bill she did accommodate us!! Yay!The spicy salmon salad (especially the salmon) was so very good! The grilled & breaded Nashville spicy chicken was also very good. The only downside was it took a while to get our drinks. Also, I'm a Coca-cola girl and they only serve Pepsi. Other than that our meal was great and our waitress was accommodating!

It is very nice to have dinner outside on their deck overlooking the marina. We all enjoyed our dinner, One of my kids loved the brisket that we added to the nachos so he wants a brisket bowl next time.The menu said the steak dish was filet mignon medallions. It was definitely not. We think it was a hanger steak. It had a good taste but the menu was misleading.The beer battered cod fish fry was good. You get 3 pieces so it isn't "all you can eat". I also liked the pricy but delicious cheese curds ($14 later but I would order again if hungry). My husband said the ahi tuna appetizer was delicious but I didn't try it.

The food was astounding and never ceased to impress me. The service was amazing and a kind and great server named Jorge made this trip even better. The overall vibe that it gave was calm, quiet and the perfect beachfront experience.

We actually left this restaurant. We had ordered drinks and all of them were not tasty at all and sent them back. Figured if they couldn't even get their "signature" drinks right the food wouldn't be much better.

Nope! Food is marginal at best. Wait staff follows policy without any feel for differences in customers. Will not split checks for parties over six which makes absolutely no sense. Add a cool 21% gratuity automatically. Once again food is no great shakes. Save yourself time and aggravation and go down the road to Mars Bar where the food, waitstaff, surroundings and prices are in line with the fantastic service and happy faces of everyone in attendance.
