We stopped in here on a Thursday afternoon and I'm so glad we did! The restaurant is small and clean and the staff are very friendly. There was cute artwork on the walls depicting different Hispanic foods all done by the same artist. This was honestly some of the best Mexican food I've had and you get a large portion for the cost. We ordered several items a la carte to just try different things and the tamale was huge and so delicious! The steak tacos were juicy which seems to be hard to do for other restaurants. My husband who loves to try lengua tacos wherever we go said these were some of the best he's ever had! We had a Gordita which was also large and the sauce that came with it was spicy and very tasty. We will definitely be back!

Honestly we meant to go across the street but that place was closed. So we just f it, this place was right there. So we ate. It was good! Lots of authentic Mexican food! Got the milanesa they give you a big portion, I could hardly finish. Prices were good and service was alright.

While I think I have a pretty good handle on the Milwaukee dining scene, my dad seems to be a step ahead of me when it comes to Mexican restaurants, which is impressive because he doesn't even live here. Every summer, he comes up from Puerto Rico to visit, and he seeks out different Mexican restaurants to try.He suggested Villa's when we made plans to get lunch a few weeks back. The place is small and divey looking, but relatively clean. Service was solid, and the food was even more solid. We ordered enchiladas. I got the verde sauce, and my dad and sis ordered theirs with red sauce.I like my dish, and the verde sauce was spicy and delicious. Rice and beans were also very good. The portions were sizable, so we ended up with leftovers. That's another way of saying the value was pretty good, too. While we lunched, three separate Police officers came in for lunch at different times, so I'll take that as additional validation. It was the safest I've felt while dining. Give Villa's a visit when you're looking to break the routine.

I just ran across this place recently and I had to go there for lunch to try this tlayuda dish that I have never seen or heard before, I'm new to the foodie scene. The place is small but very charming with bars on the Windows but don't let that stop you from going. The place is very colorful like its on an acid trip with blue floors, blue tables and chairs, yellow walls and ceilings and blue window trim. I liked that there was a lot of plants in the restaurant which gave it a warm feeling. The window tables have lots of natural light which screws with the pictures.Sarah my server was wonderful and I would recommend going when she is working which Is fri/sat nights and sun during the day. Sarah did a great job at being the face of the business while I was there and took great care of me.The menu is extensive and I can't find any on line menu so I took some pictures and I hope that helps. I was there for one thing only and that was the tlayuda, Sarah says the cook used to make this in Mexico and now makes it in Milwaukee and it's an authentic Mexican dish. Once this gets out it is going to be copied by other places. I would have my meat option as al pastor, a marinated pork.I was started off with some chips and salsa and water, the chips were fresh and crisp while the salsa was liquidly with a nice heat finish, I prefer a chunkier salsa. The tlayuda is absolutely fuc#*ng insane because it's a monster and could feed three people, I didn't even make a dent before I was full. The tlayuda is basically a Mexican pizza that is folded over and crisped on both sides. It's a huge fresh hand made corn tortilla filled with beans, mozzarella cheese, lettuce and the meat of your choice. The corn tortilla had a nice corse/crispy texture with a good corn flavor. The al pastor pork was a great choice and complemented the dish well. This was very meaty/cheesy and filled very generously I must say.Overall Sarah was great and my first time with a tlayuda was a big hit so I would definitely recommend anyone who likes Mexican food to run over and try this dish, two thumbs up.

Simple yet delicious food in a friendly environment. I got the tlayuda which a large house made tortilla with meat, refried beans, lettuce and mild white cheese folded over like an omelette and grilled/fried on both sides on a flattop. It was gigantic and super tasty. I dare you to eat it in one sitting. I took half of it home.

This place is a hidden gem! The food is good and it's very authentic! The quality is amazing. I love that they have meals that are popular in Mexico. I really like their enchiladas with mole sauce and the tamales are good too. I just found this place and I have been a huge fan!

After recently trying their tlayuda that I kept hearing about, I would definitely recommend it to anyone who has not tried something like this at a Mexican restaurant before. The steak and chorizo had a lot of flavor. The salsa they gave me was flavorful too. The tlayuda definitely couldn't be finished in one sitting. It made for good leftovers the next day.
