Van Abel's Of Hollandtown

We really enjoyed our dinner at Van Abel's. Hostess was friendly and helpful as were the two bartenders. The old fashioned was made just right in a nice mug. Overheard the history of the place and am amazed they have been doing this since 1848. That alone is reason to try it at least once. Everything is priced affordably, particularly the family style meals. The real star of the show is the broasted chicken. Some of the best we've ever had. I almost downgraded a star because I think if there are two people and you don't request extra portions, you should be able to take the family style leftovers home. Very wasteful. But we enjoyed our evening and plan to go back soon.

Came for a retirement party. Way above average service. Truly impressed with customer service.Family style meal, especially the Chicken was fantastic ! The dessert plate was awesome. A gem hidden away.

Amazing job, van Able's! (4.5 stars)First off, food. The food is a 10/10! The food is amazing, I had the breasted chicken which is my favorite already! Not only is it amazing, they had a massive quantity of it.2nd, the plentiful service. I would rate a 8/10, they had a starting bar area where you would wait for them to come and ask for your order. Then, when they have it on the stove/grill, they will bring you to your table. Not to mention that the staff are super nice. One thing bad is the waiting times, taking ~25 mins to get to my table.Finally, it's the perfect ambiance. I would probably rate it a 10/10! Also, this is one of the greatest ambiance's I've ever seen at a supper club. The ambiance/atmosphere is kind of old towny while still having a fancy feel to it. No music, which is expected from a place like this!Great job, I would give this an 4.5/5, if I could. I haven't seen that many reviews, and that's ok!! There were a lot of people, and to make there be more people it's only open for a few hours. This is amazing, keep up the great work!!!

Van Abel's is a great local restaurant and wedding venue. Classic Wisconsin supper club fare - on the better side for food quality and service. Mildly disappointing old Fashioneds, but that's a minor trade off. Recommend.

Locals love this place! Any visitor to East Central Wisconsin who would like to know what a traditional Wisconsin Supper Club looks like, and what's it's all about should put this on their list! The food and drinks are great... especially the Boasted Chicken and the Friday Fish Fry. First of all, this place is huge and very well know. Don't be discouraged by a full parking lot. There could possibly be a wedding and/or an office party going on in different rooms. They take reservations, so this may be your best plan of attack. The chicken and fish can be served "family style" which means it come with everything, all at once, like your family table at Thanksgiving! I highly recommend this, It's also all you can eat.

Everyone knows that Van Abel's rocks. Why write another review? Perch and chicken are awesome, sides are good, bar is nice. Staff attentive and kind. Wish we had a Van Abels in AZ.

Ok I will admit I was skeptical I would find this restaurant out in the boonies.This is very old family run restaurant. It is simple and clean. The special of the house is the chicken. They also have steaks in various sizes. The portions are huge! Split something is my advice. It is a trek to get there but I highly recommend.

Go their for every family gathering (you should too)!! Chicken is the best, beans are the best, potatoes are the best, the gravy IS the best, the corn is the best, the roast beef is the best. If this isn't making your mouth water, I don't know what will. The bussers are more friendly than the servers or waitresses, but everyone is overall great. Their old fashions are the best in the state. Thier oven cooked (not over cooked) chicken is the most amzing chicken I've ever tasted!! The resturant is a little loud always, but the food is worth it. You can have big gatherings there or have them bring their heavenly food to your gathering wherever you like. God bless you guys because if you've ever worked at Van Abel's, you're going to heaven!!

This place is a treasure. An original Wisconsin Supper club that updates its appearance but has never lost its charm. The staff hustles, the food is hot and plentiful and when you order family style, it never stops coming!! Chickens, mashed potatoes, stuffing, loads of gravy, creamed green beans, rolls, butter - this can go n forever! The bartenders are attentive and makes good Old Fashioneds. If you haven't been here yet, do it ASAP!Cheers!!

The place itself is fine and the chicken is good, but other than that the food tastes like it was reheated in a microwave, particularly the mashed potato's and corn. I also don't understand why this place doesn't offer refills for soda, but they do offer endless pitchers of milk, which has got to be way more wasteful and expensive for them.The service was relatively quick and the waitress was friendly, and the building itself was quite nice. Not really fit for a fried chicken restaurant though.If you're in the area then I might recommend it, but I definitely wouldn't go there if you're not within 20ish minutes of it.
