We are from West Chicago and the orchards around here and 30 minutes away, had only 2 apples for picking and some had entry fees. This place has a very inexpensive bag deal and no entry fee!! Great selections too!! Totally worth traveling another 30 minutes. Also farmer Tom was very helpful and informative! Loved that he took the time to show us how the trees are grafted! Help keep this place open and plan a visit!

This is a very nice and quaint apple picking orchard. We typically go to Edwards Apple Orchard but for some reason, they were closed during our available weekend, so we decided to come to Valley Orchard instead. The apples were still pretty well sized and very tasty. We had never heard of or had a Cameo apple before, but I have to say they are a good snacking apple. The price to pick is up there. A small bag that fits around 10-12 apples is $15. A large bag that fits around 30 or so is $42. They also have raspberries for picking. The apple orchard here is also much smaller than Edwards, and is easily walkable, versus Edwards you have to ride a tractor to get there. There are no options for lunch here, but they do have a small shop that sells Apple Cider Donuts, jars of honey and jam, and pre-picked pumpkins. We got a few donuts for the group, overall, pretty good but sad to say that we have had better.Overall, a nice small place. If you are looking for a place to pick apples that isnt overly crowded, this is your spot. Spend 1-2 hours here and then head somewhere else for lunch.

We live in Chicago and love bringing our small pup with us wherever we can and for the life of us we couldn't find any dog friendly orchards within a couple hours of the city. Actually had to make reservations in St. Louis to visit a dog friendly orchard 5 hours away. Covid came and ruined those plans but by doing so we stumbled into this gem! Only an hour from Chicago, family run, dog friendly (even have the family dog Darrel wandering around), great apple variety, awesome donuts, cider and plethora of sweets! Covid cautious and super friendly staff! We had a great time! And can't wait to come back next year!

Small place but you can buy the apples per pound. When we went they were $1/ per pound. They have a small play area with crawl throw hay stacks, a digger toy, and a bunch of wood pieces to put your face in for pictures. Apple donuts were good but very heavy, I prefer Edwards donuts but I wouldCome back for the PYO apples per pound rather than having to buy a whole basket.

This place is fun for the whole family, as I came with mine, and had a great time when I went. We originally planned to shop for raspberries, but we were informed that they were out of the fruit, so we chose to pick blackberries. No big deal. The blackberries were relatively easy to pick, and there was only 1 bee that we encountered during the visit. Valley Orchard is VERY PRICY! For each pound, the cost was approximately $5.75, (correct me if I'm wrong) and most people would agree that that is a little much. The service was moderate, but could use a some work, and within the gift shop, they serve waters and sodas, so you don't need to bring anything with except a lot of money and sunscreen, and for those reasons rate Valley Orchard 4 out of 5 stars.

We love taking our kids to the orchard in the fall. And after going to one that is highly praised nearby we had enough with rude people, over picked trees, high prices and parents that let their children run wild in the orchard.Valley Orchard is NOT like what I just described. We've been there for three years in a row, generally around the end of October. The people are pleasant, always polite and very helpful. The orchard is smaller, but the trees are not over picked. And, as a general rule there are few people around. This is what both my husband and I wanted our children to experience! But that's not just the orchard that makes this place special. The apples are less costly (and far more tasty) than others. And the bakery...yum. We absolutely can't get enough of the wonderful (fresh) donuts. In fact, we generally have many people around during the Sycamore Pumpkin festival and we make a special trip to Valley Orchard just to get apples and donuts! (That should tell you something when it's about a 40 minute drive one-way.) This is not just an orchard -- it's a place were families can make memories, take their time picking and not have to walk for miles through uneven terrain. We just love it!!!

We went for blackberry picking and were not disappointed! Despite being towards the end of the season, we picked a full bucket in about 20 minutes and could've easily picked another 2! The berries are giant and delicious! We picked about 6.5 lbs for $20, which is a steal compared to the grocery store. We will definitely be back in the fall for apple picking!

This wonderful orchard has been a Fall family destination for over 20 years. Delicious donuts, cider, pies and a variety of country items for sale in their store. We love to support this smaller family run orchard where the owners and staff are just as special as fruit they grow!

This is the cutest orchard! We picked plums and apples last summer and it was a great experience, and great prices too. The people working there are so nice and helpful.
