Uncle Mike's

We're visiting the area and a friend headed out to meet up with us at Uncle Mike's. TONS of beers and ciders to choose from. Typical pub food. Ambiance is kinda cool and it's not overly loud for conversations. Great place to meet up with friends without spending a fortune.

Some places are a hit others are not. I'm sure Uncle Mike's is a decent spot to hang with friends for a drink, but for food it was a big old "meh" for me.We stopped around 1pm on a Saturday afternoon. There were only a few people seated around the bar and it looked like the majority already had their food. The bartender was slow to greet us and when finally doing so let us know it'd be about 45 minutes before we could get food because they were busy (?). I guess thanks for letting us know, because our wait was indeed all of that. No one really came in after us and we didn't see any carry out orders. I ordered chicken wings which had decent flavor, but the skin was overcooked and on the dry side. I ordered fries, which were forgotten and once remembered didn't come out until I was down to my last few wings.The ketchup had a bit of a tangy taste. Perhaps from being left out too long?Again some places are a hit and some are just a swing and a miss. Uncle Mike's just wasn't for me.

What a nice surprise. First of all, come here on a Monday through Wednesday evening. You might note that the low star reviews are for busy weekend evenings. The bartender was very well dressed, I'm rarely not the most formally dressed man in the room so I felt a little outclassed. His manners were impeccable, quite a contrast to the Wisconsin casual Northwoods atmosphere. One would more expect hunter orange and camo. Bar food, good bar food. I had a Philly steak and cheese which was not authentic but was very tasty. Impressive selection of beers on tap, I had a local brew that was an excellent Belgian blonde. I wish I could remember which one it was, when I asked what they have on tap I got a thick multipage document that was as long as my first Master's thesis.

This place is known for its burgers which are 5/5 and getting it with bacon really is a magical moment for me. My partner got the Bacon Cheeseburger and I got the Superman Fried Chicken Sandwich and it was one of those nights when your partner orders better than you and you end up wanting their meal instead of your own. The chicken sandwich has batter like a piece of fish in a fish and chips which did make it special and unique, but the sauce was lackluster. The whole time my partner and I were trying to identify it. It is still a mystery to us and was so mild it didn't really bring anything to the table. The lettuce on all sandwiches and my side salad was pretty limp and sad bringing me to my eating of Mr. Superman a 3/5. Every item from the fries to the sauces needed salt and seasoning. We were searching for silverware when we noticed bins every few seats at the bar with plastic silverware in individual baggies. Service was entertaining, singing, and clearly wanted to be there and was having a good time.

Food was good and very helpful service. Huge selection of beer and it was delicious! We ordered the Mikes chicken wrap and a regular hamburger. While the chicken was ok the overall flavor was good.

I dined at Uncle Mike's last Saturday night. I have noticed that most businesses are short staffed. I was surprised that this restaurant you had to go up to the bar to place your order. My friend and I decided to sit at the bar thinking that would help with the service. We started off ordering a round of drinks, Then we placed our order. I had a BBQ Bacon onion burger with fries. It was delicious I would have placed another drink order, but it was difficult getting the bartender's attention. The restaurant was very busy. I was surprised that we only had one drink. We left right after we finished our burger's. I really wish there was someone else that could have helped the bartender out. He was very nice and courteous. He had his regular customer's that he was taking care of and already had their drinks in hand when they sat down. I would love to be a regular however it is difficult to want to return when I wasn't taken care of the first time I visited your restaurant.The burgers were excellent so I would give the burgers 5 stars however I am giving this review 3 stars based on the service.

The menu is fun - u choose your food by filling out a paper form - so many topping choices. Mac n cheese a big draw here in addition to burgers. Getting food took quite a while, but it was worth it.

I've been coming here for years. First bar I hit when I cross the border when heading north. It's a hot day out and cold beer sounded great. Pulled in shortly after noon. Figured we would get an appetizer and few beers only to find out that food was an hour behind. Not good news for a Saturday lunch rush. I feel like issues like this have been becoming more and more prevalent here. Hopefully things get sorted out.

Food was okay nothing great and it seemed like they were understaffed because we had to order from the bar there was no waitress The drinks weren't great also

Love the monster BLT. Half a pound of bacon. Also excellent chicken wings. Worth the trip.
