Fun, family friendly place in Sheboygan. This place was not our original dining plan but we went here when we found out the actual restaurant we intended to go had an almost 2 hour wait. We chose to dine hibachi style and our party of 5 got our own private table which I appreciated. The chef put on quite the show -much more interactive and entertaining than the hibachi places in our home town. The food was good. I asked for no butter and they easily accommodated my request. Our family of 5 feasted on shrimp, filet, scallops, shrimp and chicken. We enjoyed most of it ( personally didn't love the chicken but everything else was very good ). The rice and veggies were flavorful and fresh. Service was friendly and attentive enough. Pricing was quite fair. Overall, this is a fun family entertaining restaurant with solidly good food.

Came for dinner. We were hungry so got several items but forgot to take a picture of them all.Service was quick, friendly, and efficient. We were in, ordered and food out to us within 30-40 mins. Plenty of seating. They also had hibachi. Not busy but not slow either.Street parking. If busy, definitely wouldn't be able to find parking.Food was good. Got the Hawaii roll which is all things mango. Delicious. Also had the tempura shrimp which came with tempura veggies. Love the crunch, the sauce is not overly salted. Also got udon noodles which had good flavor. And finally it came with miso soup and the salad which had the ginger dressing which is always to die for. Will be back to try more. Happy eating!

We went there for the first time for lunch. The inside was better than my expectation. The service was nice and our server was a nice lady. We had calamari ring and edamame for appetizer. For lunch we had tempura combination, katlet chicken and a noodle dish. We also had a miso soup and clear broth soup. The soups were blank. They did not have any taste in them. The fried foods (tempura and katlet) were good but the noodle was tasteless. I will give this place another try since their menu is big and I did not try their sushi. But based on this experience, it is an average place.

3 stars because the food is really good. Its pretty much the only place you can get sushi in the area. Its inside an older looking building. You walk in to a room that opens up to some booths and hibachi tables on the other side. The restaurant is dimly lit with dark brown stalls for booths.Wait staff was all over the place and came to bring food to our table a couple times for things we didn't order. Cleanliness overall was ok, I get they were busy so its a quick clean and same for the bathrooms. The food came out and it was really good, I probably would not eat in again because the experience was a little off, but I would do take out.

I eat Sushi all over the country and trust me when I say this, you're not gonna find better sushi for the price anywhere in America!I've probably had sushi at 4-500 restaurants and this was as impressive as I've had in years! Absolutely outstanding and Rhea was pure class!I'm actually debating going back there before I catch my flight back to Dallas tomorrow !

The chicken donburi is exceptional. The baked salmon bowl is the best food I've ever had. And I've had many of their sushi options-always exceptional. Service is so friendly and knowledgeable. And ambiance is friendly. It's surprisingly big inside.

The service was OK. Had a waitress with limited English so it made things a bit less smooth when asking for things. Just wish it didn't take them 10-20mins to take our orders. I was in a big party for dine-in, so for them to take that long to come back and check in on us was crazy. The sashimi was amazing. Definitely felt at first $5 for two slice of salmon was crazy, but once they brought it out, it was worth it. The sizing of the salmon slices were bigger than I thought I'd be.I also ordered the Wisconsin Roll and that one was pretty good along with the other sushi's ordered. Order whatever your heart desires. You can't go wrong with anything on their menu. The ambiance was loud but they played music that was weird... we had a big party but it wasn't for a birthday, it was for a graduate but I don't know, maybe it's a replayed birthday song daily? LOL. Inside was clean and they have a hibachi part where you can sit and someone cooks in front of you. So you do have the option to opt-in for that. You also have to park on the street outside. Sucks but yes, have to or find a nearby garage parking lot. It is downtown. I wish Michigan had this tasty of a sushi place but Fuji is the place I'll still go to...Overall, good job to this place and hope they are still there whenever I come back to town! :)

We just tried Umi for the first time. It was delicious and worth the 20 minute drive. The staff was attentive. Our sushi came out before our appetizer, but that was okay. We still ate everything.

I didn't want to do this but I have to leave a review especially when the restaurant was one of my favorite eating spots.I don't know what's happening to the place but the service and food quality is declining sharply over the last few months. On our last visit, I noticed how sloppy and poorly cut the sashimi was and that should have been a warning sign for what was going to follow. Yup, you guessed it! I almost choked on a rather large fish bone. The staff seemed to think that it wasn't a big deal or didn't seem to care. Needless to say I didn't eat the rest of my sashimi but they did still charge me. I could go on to talk about the other food items being poor quality like the dish-wash water miso soup, but there no point in beating a dead fish.I will mention that for the price, I would expect better service and food quality. The service is so bad, that people have to wave down wait staff for other tables. Which is ironic because all of the wait staff congregates around the wait station fixated on their cellphone. The wait staff don't check in or even bother to look up at their customers and then they expect a tip.I must say it's really makes me feel sad on the decline of the restaurant. I know I won't be returning there anytime soon, since there a much better Japanese restaurant in Manitowoc now.
