Toucan Food & Custard

Still a weird, unfriendly experience. Not sure why the owners are in this business as they are so unwelcoming and unfriendly. No greeting when you enter, you walk up to the "register" and the owner walks off without saying a word to the hidden register at the front then stands there, looking at you like you're supposed to know she will take your payment where she's moved to. Transactions are rude, cold, and they talk so soft and fast you can understand what they are telling you as they had you a buzzer. Food is good, thank goodness. Tables are very tight for sitting. Walked up to my order hearing the crew call out the number, stand nextTo the worker with my food, she types in the buzzer number, stares and walks away without givingMe my order. Simply bizarre. Staff are all frowns and defeated.

I would rate a 5 for custard and 3 for food.The custard is super smooth, I believe they use Leon's custard base, if you are familiar with the different local custard places. They have a flavor of the day (posted on their Facebook page), and most times I have gone they have extra of the previous day's flavor as well. They also have the classic sundaes available if that is your thing.Food, on the other hand, is just ok. I do really like the gyros, so opt for that if you are undecided! The burgers and chicken are just meh.This place is super close to me so I will continue to frequent it, but stick with the gyro and ice cream!

I can only speak to the cheese curds but these are at least tied, if not outright the best fried curds I've ever had. Jalapeño and garlic, two orders were maybe not even enough. Big fresh curds, lightly fried, infused with flavor. Excellent portion for your money. My friend and I both agreed on this. A cute homey ambiance inside and friendly customer service (they are local so give them a minute if interacting with someone else) all adds up to a huge win and I may have to accidentally route myself back through Port Washington next vacation for some more... and some custard... nah I'll go get that right now!

Been to this place twice. Food is average to above average. The issue is both times they have messed up the order. So today after waiting 20 minutes for some hotdogs, during a slow period, they again messed up the order. My advice is try someplace else

This was not very good the meat on the burger taste bad . The man was on phone while customers waited. No refills on soda . Spent $50 for not very much

The service here is absolutely glacial. The food is fine, but the employees are non-communicative and don't give you an idea of what to expect.

Worst burger EVER! The burger was ordered plain came with ketchup and mystery white sauce. Canned mushrooms, NOT FRESH, meat was grey and tasted bad, our granddaughter would not eat hers. There were multiple mistakes with our order! Way overpriced, a chicken wrap basket was $17, add 2 burgers and 2 fries our total bill was over $40 and the quality was aweful! Cannot recommend and will not return.

This place is phenomenal. The food was outstanding. Everything came out fresh really nice ambient atmosphere food came out really quick staff are phenomenal, kind and very informative of their menu. Very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this place to try different foods. They have a chicken Shawarma that is spot on Perfect as well as their Gyro's are awesome as well. This place is highly recommended.

We love Toucan! We live near by and are there most every week. Love the wings and cheese curds, so good! Service always comes with a smile and in bad weather they brought my carry out to my car, so thoughtful!
