Note that most of the reviews on Yelp are old. This place no longer has a menu or offers food - despite what the reviews say and even their website which apparently hasn't been updated in a long time. You are welcome to go purchase food at the Whole Foods hot market area and bring it in. The beer selection is really good and the prices are reasonable compared to most other places with craft beer on tap. Cheap craft beer is really the only reason to go here. The place overall has a cafeteria feel to it in appearance. I wouldn't describe it has a "hidden gem" any longer. The last time we went on a Thursday (discount night) we couldn't find a seat. The bar and all the tables were full. Non-discount nights it's fairly quiet. The bartender is very nice and knowledgeable. Now that they no longer offer food we don't go much. The hot bar food is okay, but can't compete with what's on offer at Good City Brewing right across the parking lot or two dozen other options within a mile.

It's always highly entertaining to watch people's reactions when you tell them to meet you at Tosa Tavern, and when they ask where that is to tell them it's inside Whole Foods. :)First, the beer. Tosa Tavern regularly has tap takeovers from breweries all over the country. When they do, there are major discounts on some very hard to find beer. (We got a tulip of Dogfish Head 120 for $3.00 and were pretty sure someone was going to lose their job because of it!) The distributors always hang around to chat with you and provide some swag if you're enjoying one of their beers. The prices are insane on regular beers as well, and you're going to be hard pressed to find better prices on craft brews anywhere in town.Tosa Tavern also serves food and it's solid. They used to have loaded tots which were tater tots that were stuffed with amazingness inside the shell, but I think they moved away from that which is the saddest thing I've seen in awhile. Their sandwiches are good and their burgers are standard. They even have deals on their burgers and sandwiches on Thursday nights. As a bonus, you can literally buy anything in Whole Foods and eat it in the bar area. If you aren't feeling burgers, go grab a slice of pizza or food from their hot buffet or sushi and grab a beer. There's a couple of large tvs, charging ports under the bar, and trivia on Thursdays. As of right now Tosa Tavern is still pretty light on the attendance but I'm quite honestly hoping it stays that way. The only bummer is that they close at 9 pm when the actual store closes. So keep an ear out for last call or you'll be disappointed!

Excellent Thursday beer deals! Really, every night of the week has a great deal. Love the current $10 special for a cauli rice bowl or burger with fries. Got pretty busy on a Thursday night but try it out!

I've been visiting The Tosa Tavern for a few years now. It's always been on my Yelp review radar, but I never was really sure what to say. I mean, it's in a Whole Foods. For one, that's weird. It's not particularly warm and inviting like a good tavern can be. And it doesn't really feel local. Heck, even the Whole Foods is in a strip mall across a parking lot from another strip mall. So, my dilemma is that I still like The Tosa Tavern despite these modern, big business traits. Why?Foremost, it's the beer. The Tosa Tavern sports a continuously revolving line of 16 draught beers (or maybe it's 18, I never counted, but it looks like 16). Roughly half are from Wisconsin, or at least Midwest, breweries. The other half are good beers from wherever they're made. But even better yet, the pours are considerable, and best of all, modestly priced. Let me emphasize that last part again... MODESTLY PRICED. Most of the beers on The Tosa Tavern's tap list can be had elsewhere in town for another $2 or $3 or $4 per glass. Sometimes, too, the specials can be crazy values. I don't know all of their weekday specials, but I know that Tuesday nights one can fill their growler at a discount. I brought in my 32-ouncer one night, and filled with a Founder's ale for only $8! Thirty-two ounces of fresh, Founders ale for only 25 cents per ounce? I dare you to find a craft beer value that good anywhere. It's cool, too, that you can bring in food purchased at Whole Foods into the tavern portion. With all of their choices, it's perfect for when you and your significant other cannot agree on what to eat.Lastly, I've always received good and knowledgeable service from the bartenders here. Despite the ever-changing kaleidoscope of beers, they always seem to be knowledgeable of them. And if they or you are still not sure, they'll always pour you a sample. I love that.So if the drudgery of grocery shopping takes a piece of your soul away, make yourself WHOLE again with a swig from The Tosa Tavern. That's what I do.

Is really convenient to have a tavern near home our bartender was really friendly and helpful great place to try craft beer without the childish environment from the taverns in Milwaukee downtown

I go to Tosa Tavern on a regular basis. They have free Wifi and normally have local sports on TV. It's typically a fairly quiet place to work in the afternoon and I can have a glass of wine if I want to. They have a full bar with a great Craft beer menu. The staff is fantastic!! They all are engaging and fun to talk to especially about BEER! The other great thing is to be able to have a drink while you shop. I highly recommend Tosa Tavern in Whole Foods in Tosa!!!

I know that they are relatively new so this review is written with that consideration and the star rating has been adjusted where as an established place would have gotten less stars for today's visit. I try to be honest in my reviews and I try to consider the whole picture and with that being said let's start this review. While checking out Whole foods I noticed the Tosa Tavern so I stopped by and checked out the menu and there were items that would sway me into hanging around and having lunch here so I did.The tavern was spacious and modern looking with a lot of Windows to let the natural light in. There is a nice long bar with about 20 taps along with bottles of beer, wine and cocktails. All the beers and wines are rotated around so it will always have new products coming on line. All the tap beer and whine can be tasted before you decide on one. Opposites the bar is tables and chairs spaciously arranged and pulled double duty as the food court seating for people just eating. The woman working the tavern was doing a great job and I had no service issues. I had the Goose island IPA for $2 and the up in smoke burger with loaded tator tots for $8, $10 for a quality lunch with a nice beer was a surprise find in a nice space.First off they will not make your burger rare and I was told that med would be what they could do but there was not even a whiff of pink left in the beef. 2nd issue was no bacon on my burger, see my pictures so I said this is not what I ordered and the woman looked at the menu and said the kitchen forgot the bacon and five minutes later they brought me a basket of bacon, now my food is no longer hot because I had to wait for the bacon to start eating. The bacon was three crispy quality strips to my surprise with great smokey flavor. 3rd issue is the tomato was razor thin and the red onion was also and very minimal. The bun was a decent sesame fresh one, man they are so close to a decent burger and I'm not saying the destination burger kind but the nice work lunch kind that is not a chain. Just a note I had to take half of my lunch home in a box because my lunch was over and time was up, too bad it was not right the first time and hot.Now for my side of loaded tator tots, they were Fu#%ing amazing. They don't have the conventional texture for tots but more like a twice baked potato with cheese and chives in them. Light and crispy on the outside with a soft mash inside. They have to be house made because I have never had a frozen potato appetizer with this quality. The up in smoke burger was pretty tasty with great fresh cooked bacon and even with the minor issues I would order it again with extra onion and tomato to compensate for the razor thin toppings. This place has potential once they get there legs under them and this could have been more stars. This is a great place for a burger and drinks considering its in a food store and is now my favorite lunch place close to work.

I had heard about Tosa Tavern from people who shopped at Whole Foods. But NO ONE told me about the poutine. Which I get it, they want to keep it to themselves, but too late. I saw it on the menu and we had to give it a try. Well done for luring hungry people grocery shopping over to the hot foods section when they're almost to the end of their list and their defenses are low. We did not grab a beer while chowing down the poutine, but we will definitely be back to explore this further. We caught sight of their specials and beer selection and were pretty pleased! I believe I also saw a sign for trivia night, which would be fun to try as well.

I cannot believe it took me so long to come here, as close as I live. This is as straightforward as it gets, you go get whatever kind of meal you want (salad bar, hot bar, made to order), then head into the tavern and enjoy. Great beer selection, decent wine selection, and the nightly specials on drinks really can't be beat. Bartender was super helpful in giving tastes of two different wines I was contemplating. Tap takeovers by various breweries, watch a game or whatever on tv, it's all good.

Good value, quality burger and beer! Was not impressed with the broccoli bites but that's OK I'll try the fries next time. Bleu burger (no mushrooms) was great. Great beer selection many just $3.00 - A nice surprise to find a reasonable place so close to the insane Mayfair Collection.
