TomKen's Friendly Fried Chicken

There was big hype around TomKen's wings. Sayings like "best wings in Milwaukee" so I was extra skeptical going in. David and I have been to Points East Pub which I've heard it competes with (and we love Points East wings). Let's just say this, they were the meatiest wings we have ever had!! And all 4 sauces were outstanding! They were fried to perfection and just overall a flavor packed bite every time. The ranch is a little watery but it actually suits the wings well because it doesn't overpower the sauce flavor. Potato wedges were super solid and came out piping hot! Only miss for me were the onion rings. They were way too oily and didn't have much flavor other than that. So maybe pass on those but get everything else

Now let me tell you something brother! If you want the best wings in the state, you'll be coming here to Tomkens brother! Always great atmosphere, and service is like Wrestlemania! Food items other than wings are great as well brother, try them brother! If you like chicken, you'll never go anywhere else!Brad is one of the most lively fun people you can have here, and all the other bartenders are as well! Great service and excellent times! Been coming here for close to two years now. The wings are incredible! My sister and brother-in-law ordered the fried green beans on one occasion and I am hooked! Trust me, you can't eat just one (basket). They have regular favors and rotating flavors. My favorite are the honey bbq, Greek freak, and Insane Yellow Dragon, but honestly I have not had a flavor yet that I didn't like. I have had the boneless a few times, but come on, it just isn't the same as having the sauce on your fingers and dripping down your chin! It is a nice neighborhood bar just across from the fairgrounds with lots of friendly people and all of the staff are great! If you have never checked this place out, you have to give it a try!

Great neighborhood bar atmosphere. We ordered wings to go and we selected the following two flavors. The nutty rooster which is basically peanut butter sauce and sriacha. Really good and actually tastes better when reheated! It's not too hot and the combo works pretty well. We also got the buffalo garlic. That too was a pretty solid choice. The fries were meh and not really worth ordering but if you go definitely come for the drinks and the wings. Parking is street side only. We were there on a Friday night and still managed to get a space.

Outstanding winds! We checked this place out during the great winter storm of 2024. We will definitely frequent this place for carry out as well.I would definitely recommend the Korean sauce on the boneless as they were our favorite out of the options. They do rotate different sauces so we will definitely continue to check out the different options they bring in! Yet to try the bone-in wings so can't wait to go back. Potato pancakes were excellent as well. 2lbs was the perfect amount for two of us. Brought a few home but not much.

I was visiting and really wanted to try cheese curds because I heard that's like native to Wisconsin. So I was brought here for that and "the best wings ever", allegedly. Well, the wings stole the show so I'll give them that. I recommend the grilled buffalo garlic wings. The char on the grilled ones gives it a much better taste than breaded imo. We got 18 wings: Buffalo garlic, JB3, and garlic parm. The buffalo garlic is bombbbbb--not that spicy, super flavorful. JB3 was good too, a little sweet and spicy, not heavy on the jerk seasoning at all, unique flavor. I did not care for the garlic parm, it had no flavor, just greasy. Cheese curds were good, salty cheesy little bites, until they get cold then it gets a little funny rubbery texture so you gotta eat them fast. Sides were Caesar salad and crinkle fries--can't go wrong with that. Service was friendly. Definitely a dive bar kinda vibe and the music was pretty good too. I was pleasantly surprised to hear some hip hop. I guess it's family friendly as well bc I saw a whole family with child in there and it wasn't crowded or rowdy on a Thursday night. Definitely worth checking out.

Super good but so dang expensive. Wings are killer and good beer options but so overpriced.

None of the food we had tasted very good!!! The fish just didn't have any taste; obviously not quality cod!!

Great place to eat drink and meet people. Friendly staff reasonable prices. Parking can be a hassle.
