If you're looking for a brunch spot that's as bold as it is delicious, The Wicked Hop is a must-try. Located in the Historic Third Ward, this place combines a laid-back yet lively atmosphere with some seriously inventive twists on classic brunch fare.I kicked things off with a Bloody Mary, and let me just say--this wasn't your average brunch cocktail. The drink came with an impressive garnish of strings of cheese hanging out of it, adding a fun, quirky touch to the already flavorful mix. The Bloody Mary itself was perfectly spiced with just the right balance of tang, heat, and a hint of savory goodness. The cheese string garnish was a unique surprise, giving you an unexpected creamy contrast to the drink's bold flavors. Definitely a conversation starter!Next up were the cheese curds, which were crispy, golden, and absolutely addictive. The curds were perfectly fried with just the right amount of crunch on the outside, while the inside was wonderfully gooey and cheesy. They came with a side of ranch for dipping, which complemented the richness of the curds without overpowering them. For my main course, I went with the breakfast tacos--and wow, these were incredible. The soft tortillas were filled with a delicious combination of scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, and some seriously flavorful potatoes. The tacos were topped with a fresh salsa that added just the right amount of zing, and a dollop of crema sauce for a creamy finish. The portion size was generous, and the flavors were balanced perfectly. The service at The Wicked Hop was fantastic--friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home as you enjoyed your meal. The vibe of the place is casual and fun, with a great mix of locals and visitors. Whether you're enjoying a brunch with friends or treating yourself to a solo meal, this spot has a great energy that matches the boldness of its menu. From the creative Bloody Mary to the indulgent cheese curds and flavorful breakfast tacos, The Wicked Hop is a brunch experience you won't forget. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a fun, flavorful start to their day!

I'm not a huge fan of the food at The Wicked Hop but I love the location and the outdoor seating- right in the heart of the Third Ward and across the street from the famous Milwaukee Public Market. In my opinion, this is a fun spot to stop for a drink with friends but it doesn't have the best tasting food. For the most part, it's typical bar food. Quesadillas, cheese curds, wings, tacos, grilled cheese, burger, some salad options. It's also noisy inside the restaurant.I've had a black bean burger and fries from there. It was good but not memorable.

Unfortunately, The Wicked Hop left us less than impressed. I will say they were fairly accommodating with our large group/reservation. It could see it being a good place for a beer/app to watch a game but that's about all. No one in our group loved what they ate and a few people had some floating things that the staff called "cheese" in their water. I'll be trying someplace else next time I'm in town.

Review speaks to experience on Saturday November 30, 11:45m.First visit to The Third Ward and The Wicked Hop, second visit for a friend who brought me as she wanted another signature Bloody Mary. She had this a couple weeks back and has raved about it since. Olives, a shrimp, no celery, but yes to cheese. You read that right - there are several strands of cheese in this beverage. She had this down before the appetizer came. Beer chaser. $12I ordered from the weekend brunch menu, starting with the donuts for sharing. They were fried hot with the tiniest amount of powdered sugar, neglible as it added no sweetness. The chocolate sauce is Nutella and was served room temp. The raspberry coulis was a better dipper. $10 for not more than 10 donut holes. My entree was the West Coast breakfast which was avocado toast. The bread was not actually toasted. Just cold bread. I neither saw pepper nor picked up any flavor and only one bite seemed to have basil. The halved cherry tomatoes totalled about eight tomatoes. The avo spread had no flavor. Salt? Lime? Just plain and not enough anywhere to sink one's teeth into for a creamy bite. $11.Friend had burger and it was just so so overall. She was there for the drink.Service could not have been more disinterested. Slow to clear the old plates and we were seated at a small two top high top so space was limited. All in all, not a place I would return to. If you are a Bloody Mary fanatic maybe this is worth a visit.I

I was headed to a show at the Skylight Music Theater and wanted to grab some dinner prior. There's quite a few eateries on Broadway within walking distance of the theater and The Wicked Hop is one of them. I had never been here so decided to give it a try.Because the show was on Saturday evening, I made reservations and was thankfully able to be seated straight away. The theater is about a five minute walk from The Wicked Hop and after doing some research online and seeing that they mostly specialize in pub fare, I figured giving myself and my dining companion 1.5 hours to dine and then make it to the theater would be plenty of time (and we actually even arrived at the restaurant a few minutes early to be certain). They were busy but not overly so (empty tables, etc) but the service was super laggy. We waited over ten minutes just for our beverages (which were just a soda and a cold brew) and then when she came to deliver them, she forgot the cold brew. I ordered the grilled cheese which comes served with tomato soup and she also forgot that. Soda and waters were never refilled, etc. In the end everything was taking so long when she came to pick up the check, I had to mention that we were in a bit of a rush which thankfully was the one and only time she didn't disappear for 15+ minutes at a time. Turns out, 1.5 hours was almost not enough time. So something to note if you're on a schedule. From a service perspective, it was pretty frustrating. The food itself was good though! As I mentioned, I ordered the grilled cheese and tomato soup with a caesar salad on the side. The grilled cheese dipped in their chunky tomato basil soup was delicious. The salad was crisp and fresh and presented well with an edible flower on the top. The food was a solid 4 stars. The service was 1-2 stars. So, three stars it is.

Horrible service on a Saturday afternoon. When we walked in they prefaced our seating with they are only serving apps for the moment. They sat us down and we probably waited a good 15 minutes before a server came over. In the meantime we asked and they said they would be there shortly. We only ordered drinks and cheese curds. The drinks were good, the curds were disappointing. These were the first I tried in Milwaukee and the worst. They were not cooked enough despite their appearance of golden brown. The restaurant name is pretty cool and I had higher expectations, but was definitely let down.

Brunch Review - Wicked Hop was bustling for brunch! The service was pretty good and there wasnt a wait for brunch which was nice. I got the crossiant breakfast sandwich - the sandwich was good but tough to eat as the plate was pretty full. Cheese curds were just ok in my opinion, as were the breakfast potatoes. Overall, brunch here was good. My friend enjoyed her benedict as well.

Our waitress was very nice and food came out fast. I'm a little picky on my cheese curds and thought they were okay. The Cajun chicken and pasta was also decent but not my favorite. The food overall was good. People on other reviews really hype up their brunch so perhaps I'd be more of that menu than their regular dinner menu. Overall it's cute and has fun street side seating.

A local favorite of MKE. Offers local beer and dishes out delicious bar food that compliments the beer. Service staff is great. Family went here to have lunch on weekdays therefore it's not crowded. Fast service and friendly atmosphere. It gets crowded as weekend nears and popular spot for weekend brunch and night out dinner. When in MKE check it out.
