If you know close to nothing about cheeses, this was a great place to start. I was excited to get cheese anything when I went to Wisconsin, but I wanted to pair it with something else. The boards made it easy and all inclusive. The staff were very friendly and helpful in answering questions. This was truly a one stop shop, but if you're looking for just cheeses to gift, I would probably recommend a different store.

Great local cheese shop with such good variety, both local and international. Love all of the charcuterie accompaniments, such as delicious olives, meats, and crackers. Excellent and well priced wine selection. Buy to go or enjoy in the store!

Feels like I'm stepping into a shop in Europe! From the natural hardwood floors to the incredible selection of wine, you'll immediately fall in love. Staff is knowledgeable about their hand selected products and will make you the best cheese & charcuterie board. Cute spot to hang out with a friend or grab some curated goodies to go. One of my favorite spots in MKE!

Must try this little gem in the village of Wauwatosa. Super cute exterior, looks like you're strolling along a charming street in England or Europe. Amazing selection of cheeses and other items to purchase inside. Super friendly staff, busy but accommodating to everyone. My daughter and I came in specifically to get a European soda called Spezi. Unfortunately, they were out and she explained the supply was not there. I totally get that and we tried an Almdudler instead which is an Austrian herb drink. Super refreshing and not too sweet. We had two sandwiches that were carefully prepared, super tasty brie and fig jam on a baguette with prosciutto. Some small seating inside, but lovely day so we chose the sidewalk instead.

I boosted this bookmark after seeing Joanna T. Check in here and looking at the menu with some interesting sandwiches. Parking was a nightmare and I had to drive around the block a couple different ways before I found a spot. I wanted a craft sandwich and not just a sub so I felt that this place would be perfect. The place itself is very charming with a little bar and and a couple tables in front of the big windows. There is a couple coolers with meats and cheeses, a wine wall and shelves full of speciality foods, chips, candy etc. I have had the the Original sandwich in the back of mind for a while now which is imported Mortadella, Sopressata, Provolone, French sea salt butter, stone ground mustard, Greens on a Rocket Baby Baguette. The guy who welcomed me asked what brought me in and I said a sandwich, he says all the baguette ones are not available because of no baguettes, out of this and that and this so like every sandwich is not available WTF. I ask the guy do you have any bread and can you improvise any sandwich so he looks over the menu and says he can make the original on sourdough and by the way we're out of togo containers but we can wrap it up as best as possible, really ?.I opted for the improvised original because I drove over and I was already there but I'm disappointed that I couldn't get the sandwich that I drove over for or the full experience that I expected.First off the sandwich looked unimpressive and like something from from anyone's kitchen, that baguette would have been a better presentation/impression. The sourdough bread was very good and not commercial with a very chewy crust and soft center. The sandwich was tasty and the French sea salt butter hits you first and the Boetjie's stone ground mustard finishes it off. The sandwich was pretty good and I would have liked to have had it how it was supposed to be served.I'm probably one and done here because they can't even properly execute the menu, the menu is what got me to stop by and I left with out the full experience and at $10.60 it seemed overpriced for how small/flat the sandwich was.

The Village Cheese shop is an adorable European-style cheese shop in the heart of downtown Tosa. It helps that the interior is painted in my absolute favorite shade of blue and impeccably decorated. But onto the cheese! The store offers a variety of artisan cheeses, meats, and jams, many of them locally produced. You can purchase wine and even enjoy a glass with a cheese and meat board, salads, and sandwiches. I was impressed with the selection, and I will definitely be coming back. Great addition to downtown Tosa!

The store has great products. I found the customer service to be not necessarily bad, friendly but a bit confusing. The two employees working there were both filling the order of the group in front of me, and it took quite a while, although they acknowledged me and said they would help me next. No problem, I thought, they pay full attention to one customer at a time. When I got to the front I was helped by one of the employees and I placed my order. The checkout process took longer than I excepted as both employees were helping the person behind me in line already, with the person checking me out pausing numerous times to answer their questions and offer advice ( even though the other employee was already assisting that customer). The experience left me feeling like I was perhaps less important than the other customers. Obviously the other customers had a lot of help, so if you visit you probably have a two in three shot at great service, especially if you're someone worthy of their respect.

Excellent cheese and selection! The owner knows her stuff but why can't she be nicer and recognize repeat customers? Always a sour attitude.

This is my go-to place for high-quality charcuterie meats and cheeses and all the to-go-withs for the perfect cheese board or appetizer plate. After visiting Italy, I was so disappointed to not be able to find the fresh, high-quality food we loved over there, until I discovered Village Cheese Shop! They import all the best stuff from around the world but also have a great selection of local meats and cheeses too. If you're a meat/cheese snob or just appreciate really high quality food, this is your place!

This shop has a fantastically curated selection of cheese, including wonderful examples of local cheese from Wisconsin alongside the excellent selection of imports from Europe. There are also cured meats, olive oils and vinegars, and various products that pair well with them: tinned fish from Spain and Portugal, jarred pesto from Italy, mustards from France, crackers from England, to name a few. And wine! A very tight selection of wine that includes easy value rose, Champagne, and a little bit of everything in between. The staff is very knowledgable; it's really a delight to shop here. I've only ever gotten things packed up to go, but the selection of sandwiches and salads to eat in looks delicious, and the warm, wooden counter is a very inviting place to sit and enjoy lunch--next time I'll have to try it!
