The Twisted Pair

I saw a post on social media that Twisted Pair's pizza of the month for February 2024 was chicken cordon bleu and thought what a great time to make my first stop for a meal. I drove up for dinner one night and got cheese curds in addition to the chicken cordon bleu pizza.The curds looked like they would be really good, but I couldn't get over how greasy they were on their bottom sides. Each piece was sitting in a pool of grease on the tray and it made the taste a little unpleasant. What a shame.The chicken cordon bleu pizza was exactly how I expected it to be if not better. The crust was chewy, which I enjoyed, and all of the flavors had a chance to shine instead of one dominating the rest. I particularly liked the breadcrumbs on top as they gave the pizza another texture to work with. The chicken could have used a little seasoning, but that's minor. I'd be up for trying other pizzas of theirs as well considering how good this one was.

Stopped here on a Friday evening for food while camping in the area. I ordered the blackened shrimp tacos and my bf ordered a burger. Lets start with the appetizer- the cheese curds. They were huuuuge blobs of cheese and it was not appetizing at all to even eat. We literally left over half of them and picked at the smaller cheese curds. 0/10Tacos- absolutely disgusting. Definitely nothing blackened about it.. shrimp had zero color and flavor. The tacos were soggy with a mushy mango salsa and a blob of crema. The same way I received the food the same way i left it. 0/10My bf ate not even half of his tasteless burger. Our dinner consisted of drinks that was about it. Our waitress was overly friendly however we will never ever come back here.

I had a pizza and it wasn't very hot and didn't have much flavor. Service was horrible. Offered us a free drink for our next time and flat out told them there wouldn't be a next time

Super friendly service and great burgers! Lovely lakeside tables. 2 bars inside. Nice beer on tap.

Enjoy stopping into the Twisted Pair when we are at our lake house. We were so surprised when we first stumbled in as it is smack dab in the middle of nowhere. They did a great job converting an older building into the restaurant. They have a nice patio overlooking a small lake. Rotating list of taps. Food is solid pub offerings. Burgers are great, pizza is tasty and their wedge salad is one of the best deals you can ask for. I enjoy their fish fries as well. Dipped in a beer (Hamms) batter, the coating is light and non greasy and cod perfectly cooked. Waitstaff has always been warm and welcoming. You definitely go wrong with anything off the menu.

Delicious hamburgers and truffle fries! Nice, updated bar/restaurant that has a lot of cool old beer signs and lights to look at while you wait. The food and cocktails are upscale for this little gem of a place in a small town. Our waitress was friendly and efficient and provided great recommendations.

Had asked around for a great burger. Someone suggested here because they make the patties in house, ground fresh, daily. I was sold. This burger is a destination burger. Every bite was full of juice, flavor, goodness. A perfectly seasoned patty, grilled to a spot on medium rare. Sitting on a buttered and toasted bun that held up to the juices the entire burger. Bacon that had some pull and some crunch to it giving you a salty kick each bite. There just isn't a better burger in the area that I've had in 30+ years of looking for great burgers. The cheese curds are from a local cheese plant with a made in house daily batter that comes out to you with pull on the curds as you bite with the thinnest curd batter I've ever experienced while living in WI. I can't recommend this spot enough.

Unfortunately the service we had was the worst we've ever experienced at a restaurant. I believe her name was Ashley, we had a party of 4, one of us never got their ordered drink until 40 minutes in they were asked if they wanted something again and finally got their drink. After 45 minutes 3 of our 4 drinks were empty and the waitress hadn't checked in, we couldn't find her, so we went to the bar and got new drinks (which we had to pay for at the bar, but then also were on our dinner receipt at the end...which we had to dispute with the waitress on). We were checked in with 2 times in the full 2 hours, which were both only after getting our food an hour and a half in. The food was good, no complaints to the chef. Yes the place was busier, but it always is, and there was still open tables and no other waitress seemed to disappear.

Cannot wait to go back!So many great things on the menuThe day my friend and I went they had a special sandwich, it was much like a French dip with cheese, mushrooms and a special sauce.I asked for Gardinera on the side,Because I like it on roast beef.A very generous portion of beef and very tasty!My friend never strays from the Reuben on the menu because it's so good I'm excited to try the pizza next time I visit.Definitely a destination worthy of traveling to

First visit- I was intrigued by the Twisted Pair pizza on the menu, but I'm a pizza snob and typically refuse to eat any pizza that doesn't have the crust made on site. My curiosity got the best of me and I have to admit it was probably the best pizza I have ever had, and the crust was perfect. Burgers were also delicious, truffle fries were crispy and flavorful, and cheese curds were really large and satisfying. Okay Bourbon selection and nice whisky rocks glass to drink it from. Service was excellent, all staff were super friendly and food came promptly. Ambience was meh, kinda warehouse like.Definitely going back.
