Located inside Red Bar in St Francis, this BBQ restaurant is a wonderful change up to typical bar food.We arrived on a Friday during dinner time. With only a handful of tables to sit at, we waited a few minutes until a party left. Menus were dropped off promptly with instructions to order drinks & food at the bar. We decided to share the French Onion Dip as an app. Chips were delicious, while the dip had a good, familiar taste. I ordered the smoked sausage platter for my meal. The sausage was spicy & had a wonderful snap. The Mac & cheese flavor was good but had a bit of a gritty consistency. The house pickles were a great palate cleanser.Great spot to enjoy a drink & eat! Will be back to try other offerings.

We made a pit stop here after a day of hiking and it was pretty good!If you sit outside on the bench, you can bring your dog which is a great perk. The inside is real cute; pretty small but cute and gives the whole "neighborhood bar" feel, which is appreciated in an area like that. The food was very good. I believe the Mac and cheese was homemade (at least it looked like it), so that was nice that it didn't come from a Kraft box haha. I also tried a Moscow mule but with whisky and it was definitely a very well made drink! The cute copper mug it came in made it that much better. Overall, service was very good as well so if we are ever in that area again, I'd like to come back.

A nice selection of bbq sauces that were pretty good. Pulled chicken was kind of plain and so was the Mac and cheese. Corn bread was good but was touching the pickles and got a bit soggy.Fish fry was okay as well.

We tried a full rack of ribs for takeout last Friday and enjoyed them. The sauce was fantastic, but the ribs had a little fat. I know the fat adds flavor, but it's like eating fish that hasn't been filleted. I don't enjoy pulling stuff out of my mouth. The baked beans were fantastic, but the Mac and cheese was nothing. I threw mine out. I'll return to try the Reuben and the brisket. The RedBar was fun, and I'll pen a different review for the tavern.

Pros - the bartender was outstanding. Service overall, was great. The food LOOKS good.Negative - the food was terrible. I got out of the car and the first thing that I noticed was that I couldn't smell any bbq. The meat was dry and tasted microwaved. It may have been good a few days prior to our arrival. No smoke ring on any of the meat. You deserve better than this. Going out to eat is expensive these days. Find better. Again, service was good. Food was bad. We payed our bill and took the "L."

Man this one is tough to write. I moved here from Memphis and Saucy Swine was one of the first places I tried. It was good! I believe we had ribs and the 1lber mixed meat; But location wasn't convenient for me so it obviously took me awhile to come back (7 years) but I would always recommend it. The food is still good. Beans excellent, pickles excellent, sauces excellent but the bbq - ugh! Flavorless. I'm pretty sure the "pulled pork" which wasn't pulled it was massive chunks was crock potted or boiled. While it was moist, literally tasted like water. No smoke ring, no seasoning, no flavor what so ever. Coleslaw flavorless, brisket - looked amazing but again flavorless and my husband was disappointed he didn't get a choice of cut bc his was super fatty and he'd rather the leaner cut. I shouldn't have to douse the meat in the amazing sauces for it to taste like anything. You can see from picture there is a lot going on and it tasted like water.

I first tried The Saucy Swine many years ago and thought the food was really good and so I left a favorable review. Just like I was honest then, I want to be honest now. My family just had the worst Barbecue any of us has have ever had! The ribs and brisket were extremely dry, had no seasoning, and worst of all it was all baked. NOT a smoker or grill ever touched that meat. They used to have amazing baked beans, but those are just now okay. We also got the mac and cheese which was the only thing that was actually good. The barbecue sauce also used to be good but the containers we got were oddly thin in consistency, bland, and the flavor that was there did not taste good. Unfortunately, most of the food had to be tossed in the garbage.

Wow. I'm blown away by this place. After a long long week and not wanting to cook, you need a no-frills place where you can kick off your shoes, not be faced with stares or obnoxious customers... You just want to eat and drink and be merry with good company. Speaking of the food, the meat tastes fresh; Best pork rinds ever; Typically do not like sauces and add-ons but these housemade ones are great (my top three ranked in the photo). Since you order food at the bar (which is not a plus for me but I can see why this business runs/has to run this way) and we had many questions for our first time, we appreciate the bartender's patience--and simply having style and knowing how to serve customers. Afterwards, I was craving something sweet--maybe a light, acid-kind of dessert to cut through all the meat and drinks? like a moussy chocolate or something citrusy? I didn't see a sweet-tooth menu but this place is a def def return. Can't wait to try out the other menu items.

Staff was super nice! Great variety to choose from on the menu. Everything we did try was really good. It has a fun atmosphere - it was a beautiful night, so the entire front was open. And did I mention the drinks? A solid Wisconsin Old Fashioned! We are looking forward to going back.

Ordered ribs for takeout a while back and they were quite tough so we didn't return. However, we experienced their catering at a few gatherings and the pulled chicken and pork were amazing every time. So we decided to give them another try. Ordered the pulled pork and chicken by the pound. Disappointingly, they were quite bland in flavor compared to the catering we'd tried and tasted like meat tends to taste when it's been in the refrigerator too long..."definitely "on the way out". The 12 pack of buns were dry and moldy as well which is incredibly inconvenient when you're expecting to make sandwiches. 5 stars for whatever magic is harnessed in the catering process. 2.5 for carryout.
