The Rodeside Grill

I stopped here two years ago on a cross-country trip and could not get this place off my mind, so when I happened to be in Wisconsin again, I hunted it down and was not disappointed! Rodeside has some of the best all-American food and I'm glad I don't live in town because I'd be there every day. The ambience is comfortable. Even in the middle of the day, the interior is warm and cozy. The staff is friendly and service is very, very quick. I was impressed before and was impressed again with the speed of service and the smiles on everyone's faces. My cheese curds and RodeSide burger? To die for. The cheese curds were perfectly fried and perfectly gooey. The burger is by far one of the best I've ever had. Char-grilled and dripping juices all over the plate; perfectly cooked onions; generous cheese... and that RodeSide sauce? Amazing. I can't wait to travel through Wisconsin again. Rodeside is a must-visit.

Date of visit: October 11, 2024This was a stop on our way up to Minneapolis. We wanted to get past the Madison traffic for dinner but without having to deal with the crazy tourists in the Wisconsin Dells-area. We sought out a recommendation from a friend, and they did not disappoint!Service was a touch slow, but it was a very busy Friday night so I am giving some grace on that here with my review, especially as our server was quite wonderful. However, this is definitely a place that would benefit from the addition of some technology; watching our waitress take our order by hand, then stop at the next table and do the same, and then go enter both means that both orders get to the kitchen at the same time instead of spacing them out. And it just so happened that the table who ordered after us received their dinner first. Not complaining, just pointing out the inefficiency.Our server was super friendly and fun, which helped with the longer wait (I wonder how the Halloween decorating went--she said she was in charge of it), and the food was so good that I forgot all about the wait! My grilled cheese was excellent, though the star of the show was really the sweet potato fries. They. Gave. Me. Life. Try them!Or really try anything at The Rodeside Grill, we were all members of the Clean Plate Club that night!

We were on a road trip and needed a lunch place. This one had a good menu and was just off the highway so we gave it a try. It's a nice places tucked amongst a hotel, gas stations, and fast food. We were seated immediately, got our drinks quickly, and received excellent service throughout our lunch. I chose the hot bacon spinach salad. It was huge! The ingredients were fresh. The dressing was served on the side. It also came with a roll and butter. Lots to eat for lunch. You can get it with protein but I chose veggie. It was great. Husband had the club stacker which was also a substantial amount of food. Sandwich was served on Texas toast. It was good and the side of fries that came with it were great (I stole one or two). Great stop. Easy parking. Clean bathrooms. Great service!

I love the food here , breakfast , lunch , apps , and beer , the ambience can be a bit of sports bar a bit of cabin in the woods . Bartenders and staff are on point , very attentive. Worth a look

Went with friends at noon. Place was loaded with seniors so it must be good. Clean, nicely laid out and attentive service. We ordered a specialty salad, pulled pork sandwich, grilled cheese sandwich and an order of pot stickers. Salad was huge with enough to take home. Pulled pork was inviting, generous portion with fries. Grilled cheese was a disappointment - nothing special and only one slice of tomato. Pot stickers were standard fare with two dipping sauces - hot and soy sauce based. Prices were average and service was very good. Would return for another meal.

Seated immediately on a Friday PM. Good service. Our gal Britta was working her tail off. Other restaurant staff busy helping, bringing dessert out etc. Nice decor. A bit loud but that's to be expected. Good choices for bar beverages and reasonable prices. We 3 patrons all had Friday fish fry-bluegill. Yum! I enjoyed sautéed veggies and the coleslaw. Wanted more hush puppies! Lots of good menu choices. We tried 2 desserts and they were both great. Would definitely recommend and come back when in the area.

Food here is pretty good, the lighting is pretty dark. You are basically eating by candlelight. Their cheese curds are so good. I am not a fan of the steak fries. They are more reject potato wedges. Their burgers are good but the toppings are a lot. I'll be getting just a plain burger in the future because I did take the toppings off for some of it and it was really good without. Not dry at all, but we did ask for medium and there was no pink. But I very much recommend. But seriously. Get the cheese curds.

Attentiveness of manager could be improved. He personally served two plates filled with burnt food and both orders cold. When the server finally asked how food was I asked if my order could be heated in microwave. She offered a fresh meal which was gracious but wasn't needed. The server later explained why our order arrived cold, the kitchen had discovered they had no thawed asada sauce. So our food sat while they thawed the sauce. It was gracious to provide another meal, but I didn't insist on one nor expected one. The next order arrived hot within 5 minutes. Communication would have been appreciated; I would have forgone the sauce and all would have been just fine. Posting a candid review on Facebook caused a lot of vitriol from the regulars, uncomfortable and frankly unnecessary. Slow ticket times (not the first time here with slow ticket time, but definitely our last), cold food and understaffed service team does not make for a pleasant dining experience. While our server comped our meal, also not expected nor requested, it was an awkward dining experience that I won't soon forget.

Stopped here for lunch on our way home from up north. It's very cute when you walk in, but the whole place seemed like it needed a good steam cleaning. I had the perch and fries it was a nice portion. The fish seemed a little over cooked. My husband had the beef and onion sandwich he said it was good. The service was great.

Yum! Server was prompt, polite and efficient. Food was as ordered and crazy quick on Christmas Eve. Great location right off the highway. Restrooms were clean. Would recommend!
