The Mineshaft

Never experienced a place quite as unique as the Mineshaft. Huge bar and restaurant, game room upstairs, also a stage in the back? Anyways, having a place to go with a large group basically outside of our hotel. Food: outrageous. Beer selection: incredible. Game room: quite fun! Our server for our group of 5 was very on top of it and kept our drinks filled and our food came out quite quickly. The award winning mozzarella sticks are basically cheese eggrolls, and I am not complaining a single bit. Excellent appetizer! The poutine was also quite delicious with really crisp fries, delicious gravy and lots of curds. While trying to go for lighter fair, I had a chicken salad, and that breaded chicken was excellent. Tons of chicken and bacon, lots of veggies as well but of course delicious shredded cheese as well. Really glad we came here and that the spotted cows kept flowing!

What a cool place, in theory. The building is so much bigger than you think when you see it from the outside. We had reservations here for six of us on a Saturday night and while I did not make the reservation, I was told that they said it might be difficult to accommodate that. We were able to get reservations and they seated us right away after we were all there.It seemed like the first floor was the restaurant and the second floor was the arcade. Unfortunately due to a holiday work party that we were attending afterwards, we could not enjoy the arcade but some of our group had been there before and talked about it fondly.As for the food, the menu was pretty standard "American" food. I ended up getting spaghetti and marinara which came with a soup or salad and a side of garlic bread. Unfortunately they did not have any meatless soups and I didn't want a salad, so my husband enjoyed the andouille sausage soup for me and said it was fine. The spaghetti and marinara was similarly okay - it was tasty, but nothing special. The garlic bread I did actually like quite a bit though. My husband got a cheeseburger and fries, which he liked.My husband got a salted caramel old fashioned which I will say was delicious. I'm not an old fashioned girl and I could've easily drank several of those happily! I got a sugar cookie cocktail which was good too, but was watered down very quickly. Overall, I think I could see myself coming here mostly for the drinks and to try the arcade next time because the food was fairly average.The service was decent, though we were waiting about an hour for our meals after ordering which was longer than we anticipated.

Stopped by for an early dinner and although the Thursday special is two for one pizza, we chose to have a salad. Both the chef salad and taco salad were very satisfying. As always the restaurant offers a cool looking mine shaft vibe and the service is always prompt.

In Hartford for some flight training at CubAir. Our first night we decided to walk from the Cobblestone Hotel to The Mineshaft. Pretty good food and value. I was disappointed the calzone didn't come with a side of dipping sauce. When I asked the guy that brought it out for some sauce, he said it's inside. Obviously he doesn't know calzone doesn't have red sauce inside. That would be a Stromboli.The service from the young waitress was excellent.

Good food! Good service! Good drinks! Good prices! Arcade upstairs! Arcade isn't too big but we had fun! Prizes were kind of a rip off (IMO) for how many tickets and did not have the greatest selection. If you're looking to spend your tickets on slushies and sodas it is worth it! (kind of neat because I've never seen slushies you can purchase with tickets!) Lots of fun, familiar, favorite games! We ordered a pan pizza and jumbo mozzarella sticks! A very cool place to check out! Stop here if you're in the area! You won't be disappointed! 10/10 we will be back! :)

Mother's Day Brunch oustanding in Oshkosh!We also went last Thanksgiving and same - outstanding. Highly recommend Oshkosh location.

Monday night pizza special has been turned upside down. It is used to be a good deal, but the 2 for 1 deal is not a deal. Sort of a money trap for the consumer. Besides that, the pizzas are now mostly crust. Great crust but not a meal. It's time to look for a new pizza place.

Very interesting experience. Son had a sandwich with no tomatoes, of course came with tomatoes. Happens all the time . What I found interesting was that three of us ordered steaks. Meat was fine . But it was crazy that the steaks were served basically in a low platter or maybe a bowl type. I guess it would be considered a linguine type bowl. It was impossible to cut the steak. Just think it is crazy to serve a steak on something not flat. I of course mentioned it to a server who laughed . Kind of strange reaction.

We have family in town from Germany, Michigan, and New York. We've never been to Mineshaft before.I spoke with Kayla on the phone 4 times with questions and to reserve, and she was kind and helpful each time. Our server was Austin, and he did a fantastic job serving our group of 21! We were all very impressed and appreciative of him, thank you!

Stopped in on a Wednesday night for the All-You-Can-Eat Fish Fry (a Wisconsin staple). Shout out to our server, Ellie, only her 2nd night, was on top of things! Not only was she super bubbly and excited about her job, but she was top notch on the check backs and service! The place was super clean (always a plus).....will definitely be back!!
