We had a great experience at this restaurant! We stayed at the American Club last weekend and tried to experience at least one item from each of the restaurants in their collection. We were told by a staff member that we had to try their cheese curds - so we sat at their bar and ordered up! Service was quick despite being a Sunday game day, we easily found a bar seat, but the restaurant was busy. The decor is so pretty, it's moody Ralph Lauren vibes and I loved setting in on a rainy day.The cheese curds were in fact phenomenal, probably the best we've ever had! Lightly breaded and fried to perfection, highly recommend!

Everything about the American Club is amazing...except the Horse and Plow. Don't get me wrong - it's cozy and the food is pretty tasty but I don't think I've ever been there when service was quick or efficient even when it's not busy. Menu is regular tavern food... good burgers. Kids meals include the usual suspects of chicken tenders or pasta. Service is friendly but usually takes a long time and a few times when we've visited we haven't gotten some of our menu items at all. Price wise, it's one of the more inexpensive spots in the area but be prepared for it to likely be very busy and possibly take a while to eat.

Friendly, professional service from our bartender Amira (then Andy) from my former "hometown establishment".Food items worthy. The Garden Salad was more a heap of greenery w smidges of accoutrements (could use more variety of items). The curds of decent portion and flavor. The Chicken Tenders were well above average and plump (not dry food service type).Drinks are also the bomb with the Bloody with beer back taking the prize. The only issue was a non-working credit card machine, that it seems WAS half working as their were three pending charges on the credit card. (I expect a Kohler business to be at a higher level for taking my money). Attempts to call the H/P to resolve went unanswered.

I would say the cheese nuggets were good I enjoyed the compote that came with it. The prices were overpriced and quality of the food was meh . I wasn't impressed. Nothing on the menu sounded good I got chicken strips with sweet potato fries. Very salty. The service was okay not super friendly. The building is neat I like that it was underground.

While I enjoy the atmosphere of this classic bit of KOHLER. The food is now overpriced and they removed the burger and nachos I enjoyed. I hate to say this but Chilis or Texas Roadhouse would be a better bang for your buck. If you enjoy overpriced food and drink then go here.

We visited The Horse & Plow on a Thursday night to participate in a trivia night hosted by Quizmasters. We found out about it on Facebook's local events calendar. We snagged one of the high top tables near the bar. Even though they have a sound system throughout the place, it was pretty loud so I had to go up front multiple times to hear the full trivia question. We didn't order food as we already ate dinner, but we enjoyed their drinks. I especially liked their non-alcoholic, Legacy Tea. Our waitress was super friendly, brought us some popcorn, and checked on us often to see how we were doing. We had so much fun and would come back to do trivia again. Next time, we would come earlier so we could grab a table closer to the host to hear the questions better.

Great cozy spot. Easy location after a round at Blackwood Run, pricey - but not out of this world. My only gripe was that my steak frites steak was wildly over cooked. Medium rare requested, it was well done. Too late (for my hunger) to request them to remake it, told the waitress who acknowledged it was very over cooked. When you pay almost $40 for steak fries, the expectation is a proper cook temp.

The outside was so beautiful and walking in was like a step back in time. The one negative is when you come in from the main doors and go down the stairs there is no hostess standing there. They are in the center of the restaurant. We didn't see any signage stating where to go we were awkwardly standing until the bartender pointed us in the right direction. We got the beer battered cheese curds which were amazing. I had the burger which was just ok in my opinion not really worth the money. My husband has the macaroni and cheese and was a nice size portion and very creamy.

When we entered the bar, the bartenders immediately acted like we had fake IDs and were very disrespectful and passive agressive. Im 25 and my friend is 30 and from Hawaii. She didnt believe he was from Hawaii and even scoffed at him when he told her his REAL address. He had to give them his insurance card as well which they then took their manager to confirm it was real. In the end, the manager decided that the ID was real and he got his drink. For the rest of the night they were cold to us and wouldn't even make eyecontact with us. Zero tips for them

The food was ok, but when the bill came, there was a 25% gratuity added. We were a group of 12, but no where, anywhere was that mentioned. Standard is 18% and we would have certainly paid without question. We were told it was policy and a manager was called over. The manager stated that we should have been told that when the reservation was made and wanted to know who we talked to. It absolutely was not discussed at the time of the reservation, nor was it stated on the menu. The manager walked away from our table without discussing a resolution with us and we were left sitting without knowing what the outcome was. The waitress came back eventually, with a new bill, with the tip removed. The manager was very unprofessional in dealing with the situation and the service was absolutely nothing that met the expectations of the American Club. Will absolutely never return.
