The Fox & Hounds is definitely a must visit restaurant in Wisconsin. A good time to visit is after a trip to Holy Hill or during the holidays. Visiting during Christmastime is definitely a treat with a special drink menu and every room is decorated beautifully to match the cabin decor. Making a reservation is a must. The Fox and Hounds is also a good place to enjoy a good WI fish fry. The classic haddock is a solid choice but the perch takes it up a level. The coleslaw is on point and the fries are well seasoned. Enjoy!

I've heard of Fox & Hounds many times over the years, and finally had a chance to visit. It's definitely out in the sticks, so if you're going it's probably not on a whim. We happened to be attending a wedding out this way, so we decided to stop by for a drink and some food beforehand. First impression: it gives old English-style pub. Very unique, rich in its history and charm. I think it established in the 30s? The architecture still remains - made up of logs and stones. I was honestly shook how massive it is! It felt like never ending dining rooms when we did a little snooping around. We were there on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't too busy, but I can only imagine how hopping this place can get on a night for fish frys and other classic dinners from their vast menu. It looks like they have stage spaces for live music too. The four of us sat at the bar, as we only came for a quick/casual visit. The bar stools were fun, made literally of logs and sticks. I'll say the bummer here was that the bartender wasn't the vibe. Not very friendly, didn't really want to be there. We ordered a few beers, which were all tasty, along with a couple apps. The moz sticks were no joke! These logs were big and filling. Loved their house-made marinara that came with. The spinach and artichoke dip was great too, nice and creamy. Perfect for dipping the toasted pita.Would love to come back again for a full dining experience, check out their live music, and explore other items on their huge menu. From the looks of it, they're known for their hearty American cuisine - steaks, seafood, and classic comfort foods.

Our recent experience at The Fox & Hounds was amazing. We so enjoyed our experience here.We started things off with cocktails. I got the Macallan 12 and my dining companion opted for a Woodford Manhattan. I had a sip and the Manhattan was well made and delicious. Their cocktail menu leans toward vodka and rum (my least favorite of the liquors) but they did have a decent Scotch selection and made a mean Manhattan so no complaints! For our starter, we got the spinach and artichoke dip, which comes served with fresh pita chips. It was rich, creamy, cheesy, decadent, and delicious. The only thing we wished for was a few more pita chips (the dip to chip ratio was a little off and there ended up being more dip than we had chips for). But beyond that--a delight. For my main, I got the penne mahi mahi. It comes with an ample steak of Mahi served atop penne pasta sauteed with asparagus, mushrooms, and sundried tomatoes--all tossed in their roasted red pepper cream sauce. The mahi was pitch perfect, the sauce is out of this world. I appreciated that they were generous with the sun dried tomatoes, which I feel a lot of restaurants skimp on. The dish was so ample I was able to take half home for dinner the next day (just as good the following day!).Our server was kind and attentive and made sure our water glasses were refilled. The building itself is a cabin built in 1845 and the rustic decor is charming and comfortable. I can't say enough about our experience--absolutely delightful!Get to it!

Sprawling scenic country setting for this venue with numerous rooms with charming decor. We arrived early on a Saturday night without a reservation to see the enormous parking lot full and many people inside. Despite this we were able to get a table fairly quickly in an upstairs room. Our server was a bit rushed but efficient. I started with a cup of the cheddar, potato and bacon soup and it was tasty. The server brought bread and it was nice, fresh and warm. I had the Oscar tenderloin fillet as the main. Was not a fan. The hollandaise sauce wasn't tasting right and the crab meat lumps didn't seem fresh. The tenderloin fillet was ok. Vegetables and garlic mashed potato's were so so. This place uses a bogo entree gimmick to make the prices somewhat reasonable. Maybe the value is ok-ish but there are surely better food quality options. Come for the lovely setting, ambiance and decor. A nice place if one can manage their food expectations.

Stopped in for a friends birthday dinner. Even with reservations we had about a 30 min wait. We didn't mind as it gave us time to grab some cocktails and catchup. Once seated our waitress took our orders fairly quick and food came out timely. I ordered the prime rib which was pretty standard, came with steamed veggies. I also ordered fries. Pretty good meal overall and service was excellent. We ended up hanging out at the bar after dinner and winding down the night. Once the dinner rush was over it was nice to relax.

I have heard about this restaurant for a few years now. People at work have been recommending it. With the name, I assumed it was an English pub. It is not. I came on prime rib Wednesday. I was not dressed up, and they graciously accepted me as I came (t shirt and shorts- I hadn't planned on going out for dinner when my friends asked if I wanted to join them). The food was excellent. I love a good French onion soup, and this was excellent. I was able to get the salad with the prime rib dinner to go, which worked well because I had leftover meat and veggies. It's a lot of food. After dinner, the waitress encouraged us to walk around and see the different dining rooms. This place is massive! I think she said there were 8 dining rooms, and could seat 485 people at capacity. Again, this is nothing like I thought it was going to be based on preconceived notions from the name and going to pubs called things like Fox and Hound in the UK. The food was great, the experience was lovely. AND they have a standing buy one meal get one free that is in effect, with some limitations, all the time. I'd come back here for sure. Oh, I almost forgot the bread. It was amazing, and it came with honey cinnamon butter. I could've eaten just that for dinner.

Fox & Hounds is our go-to place for Friday Fish Fry. We've been to several different restaurants, but Fox & Hounds beats them hands down. Tonight our wonderful waitress was Hope and she was extremely friendly and helpful. She knew exactly when to check in with us when we needed something. The restaurant itself is decorated amazingly with that old Europe feeling. You can dress formally or casually and feel comfortable. While the restaurant is a bit of drive, it's worth it by far. Stop in and I promise you'll be back!

We always enjoy the atmosphere when we dine here. However, Christmas is our favorite time with all the holiday decorations. I had the ribs and they were delicious. Also the cauliflower soup was so yummy. Their fall old fashioned was a huge hit with our group. The service is always remarkable. Although this particular night it took an excessive amount of time to get our meals. Not sure why. We will definitely be back.

Went for the Sunday brunch. Other than the service nothing was close to being acceptable. Everything I ate from the buffet was cold, the prime rib was bloody and cold. My bloody Mary tasted like watered down tomato juice. For $30 a person you could do a bit better than what was there. We stopped going because the dinners were overpriced and the food was so so. Tried the buffet. No difference. There will not be a return trip.
