Went here for a dinner on a Friday night (after 7) and it was dead!! No idea why because my Lordy... we got the fish fry (beer battered) and the artichoke spinach dip for an appetizer.. I'm in love in general but that dip... wow!!The service was great as well as you would hope with no one else being there. Our waitress knew we had a time table for an event across the street. She was mindful the whole time but when i reminded her that our time was coming up, she promptly brought the bills and walked us through paying and the questions asked on the kiosk at the end. I will definitely be going back!!

Santa brunch was great-employees were all super friendly and kind. Coloring sheets that were so adorable and Santa/hotel themed were great for my daughter. I had green eggs and ham (the eggs were with pesto mixed it) and phenomenal!

This was new restaurant of the week and I got rock star parking in front of the side doors. The place is in the Ambassador hotel which has the restaurant, bar/Gin Rickey and Starbucks. The restaurant is really nice and upscale with white table cloths, cloth napkins and large art pieces on the walls. Service was great and I was promptly seated and watered. Of course I'm having a Gin Rickey from the bar of the same name with lunch. I wasn't crazy about the menu or the soup of the day, carrot ginger soup but the Milwaukee cheese steak sounded good with frys. It's shaved prime rib, melted provolone, sautéed mushrooms on French bread with an onion au jus. The Gin Rickey was awesome with aged Rehorst barrel Gin and a big cube of ice infused with lime zest. The restaurant had 3 tables in service so my lunch came quick and it looked good. The frys were cooked to order hot with a crispy shell, soft center and seasoned nicely. The au jus was ok but it lacked seasoning and any rich flavor, it looked better than it tasted. The Milwaukee cheese steak was good in fresh toasted bread dipped in the au jus.Overall this was a great place for an adult cocktail with lunch in a fancy restaurant in a nice hotel.

Was surprised at how elegant and formal in an art-deco way, the dining room was. Elegant, but maybe a bit sterile. Service was not good. Despite the fact that we got a relatively early start, and the fact that the dining room was slightly over half full, it took quite a while for us to get greeted by server. Ordered a glass of wine for my mom and it took a really, really long time to arrive. Waiter made us feel like we were interrupting his otherwise delightful evening. (He did warm up a bit, after repeated attempts by me to break the ice - mom thought it was only because he knew we'd be calculating the tip shortly). That said, mom did end up with a wine she really liked (thanks to waiter recommendation) and the food was outstanding. Caesar salad was excellent - more than enough for two. They don't have actual anchovy fillets, but plenty of anchovy paste in dressing - I liked it a lot.Eventually we got bread and olive oil. I didn't try it, mom said the bread wasn't uninteresting. We were surprised that the menu was fairly limited and that there were more sandwiches than any other category on the menu. Given the formality of dining room, so sandwiches surprised us.My scallops were fantastic, accompanied by some chunks of pork belly that were tender, crispy and juicy. Mom's filet was also excellent, "could cut it with my fork." I tried a piece and it was very, very good.Didn't consider dessert, as mom was anxious to get out of there - took a pretty long time considering we didn't dawdle once we were served. The score 3 is the average of (4 for the food) and (2 for service).

Classy upscale breakfast or brunch place in a beautiful early 1920s Art Deco hotel with very reasonable pricing considering the beautiful digs. Biscuits and gravy, blueberry pancakes, steak and eggs (maybe the best steak and eggs in the area), and eggs Benedict are all very good. I've always had excellent service here, I like that the waitstaff doesn't talk in that pretentious and annoying sing song voice and doesn't interrupt conversation. Service is a big improvement over the Envoy (after remodeling this is the replacement) where they would upcharge for certain glasses and if I ordered ice or no ice in my drinks. This is my new go-to if I want to treat someone to breakfast and show them I've got good taste and also my new first choice for breakfast by myself when I want to daydream about Daisy Buchanan and Jordan Baker.

Have enjoyed several evenings here for dinner over the past year. The food is very tasty and the ambiance is simply unique. It was especially nice to take my father who years ago could recall a less stellar hotel. But now was over joyed with the renovation. The bar is great for a gin Ricky Our waitress was very bubbly. Service a tad slow but overall nothing too disruptive A blast of the past

This Art Deco restaurant has a great brunch!Service was prompt and friendly. Great drinks and fantastic coffee. Bacon was crisp and well done. Pumpkin pancakes were moist with a great flavor. As an added bonus, we were given a huge cinnamon roll to share while our meals were being prepared. If you're a fan of Art Deco design, you'll love the beautifully restored hotel which houses this hidden gem of a restaurant. If, like my friend and I, you tried the two trendy breakfast places in the area only to be told there's over an hour wait, go a couple miles east and enjoy great food and drink in an elegant, quiet setting.

Amazing service. We went on New Year's eve and booked it very last minute! Greeted by the kindest server who was very passionate and knowledgeable about each dish. Enjoyed the New Years special with a great cut of prime rib. Was surprised to see only 2 other tables. I would definitely come here again.

So we'd been here when it was the Envoy and the Ambassador bar...now it's Gin Rickey and The Fitz. Sounds like a trendy band from Riverwest or something....but anyway, the long and short of it is you should check this spot out. They redid the space. I think in Gin Rickey they updated the paint and sconces; looks nice. Same layout. The Fitz was more updated... slightly different room layout. It looks nice! So I guess Wednesday is half off wine bottles day...score!! Every bottle on their list is half off. Great deals to be had! We started with a salad, baked brie, and scallops. All were good. For dinner, a couple of us had the trout, another had the spatchcocked chicken, and finally one had the duck. The trout was deboned, but served whole otherwise. I hadn't seen it served this way before, and it was great to eat without having to go around the bones! The potatoes and kale that came with the fish were cooked perfectly and the lemon/caper/butter sauce was just right. Delicious. The chicken is big--a whole chicken and it's designed for two. Everything about that dish was great except our friend thought the turnips could have been cooked slightly longer for her liking. The duck was great; I personally would have preferred it a little less cooked, as it came out a bit medium-medium well, but there were no complaints. Finally, we finished off by sharing the crunchy coffee cake. It was lighter, as in not dense, but very delicious. The crunch seemed to be some kind of broken-up meringue. Overall it was a really great experience! There seemed to be only one server that we waiting, serving, and bussing. That caused a bottleneck here and there but we were in no rush and he did a great job otherwise. We'll be back...especially on a Wednesday!
