The Butterfly Supper Club

Can I tell you that how much WE LOVED this supper club!!! We went here to visit our cousin who lived in Beloit and this place came highly recommended from Discover Wisconsin. We ordered out old fashioned (sweet and sour) and our server was extra caring and asked us if we wanted olives or cherries. The dining room we sat in was a nostalgic year blue color and look like a blast from the past which I absolutely love. It was a Friday, so definitely had to get the Fish Fry. The fish had the right amount of batter, and very little oil. The surface and turf was so succulent- the lobster tail poached to perfection and the steak was juicy af.The onion soup was delicious and do not skip on the table bread. 12/10 recommend this place

My first time at "The Butterfly Supper Club" was an experience. The Ambiance delivers a 1960 lounge classic feeling. With bar lounge dedicated to the 60's!! Service was at best bare minimum- my waiter barely gave eye contact or communication. Presented my menu asked the standard questions & parted ways. I ordered a 10z filet mignon "medium Rare". Presented to me gray , moderately warm, with a few added grill marks! Tagged along with mild sautéed mushrooms. I hope my next visit will be a better experience *side tip*paying to have your steak seasoned is comical!! Chefs should take pride in seasoning and preparation for the cuts of meat !! Not charing $4 dollars for black pepper and garlic.

We made a reservation on their website for 4 people on a Wednesday. They have a fish fry special on Wednesdays. We got there early and sat at the bar. The service at the bar was great. The bartender came over immediately as we were sitting down and greeted us. Got our drinks within 1 minute of being there. VERY REASONABLE PRICES !We were sat at our table. THE ONLY NEGATIVE THING I WILL SAY is the chairs are uncomfortable. Our waitress was a younger brunette girl- her service was great. She was quick and had a great attitude. My salmon was great. The ribs were fall off the bone. We didn't have a dessert drink but they looked amazing. Bill was reasonable - $88 for each of us having 2 drinks with dinner, salmon, and a full rack of ribs.

i've had several good meals here, but the last time we were there, it wasn't up to par. Prime rib was tough, But we won't give up on them just yet sometimes there's an off night.

After reading some of the reviews with the negativity about the Butterfly Supper Club, was a little hesitant, however there was more positive then negative reviews. But......was glad we went. What a great experience. Service, food, atmosphere, was spot on! Absolutely no complaints here. Great time. Next time we need to sit at bar! That bar looked so awesome. The Butterfly Supper Club shouldn't be missed.

Love the history/story of this historical supper club. It is in a beautiful space in Wisconsin. Friends we were with have wonderful experiences and memories of this place. Pluses for. us were the attentive wait staff and some of the food. Prime rib, scallops and duck were excellent. Walleye great for one guest overcooked for other. French onion soup was salty. Overall salad was good but hard to discern garlic in garlic dressing. We had a wonderful waitress. Unfortunately we had to wait 45 minutes to be seated for our 6 pm reservation but we understand that can happen on a Saturday

Honestly some of the worst food I have ever had at a restaurant. I ordered a 10 oz fillet cooked medium and the outside was burnt and had no flavor whatsoever not to mention it was the shape of a softball. I think they shook it up in a bag of Charcoal when it was finished. The au gratin potatoes were raw and had the texture of an Apple. My salad was very good. My brother also ordered a filet cooked medium rare. A portion of the steak was not even edible from being raw. See attached pic. My last gripe is we brought up my meal issue with who I believe to be a manager. The manager had the audacity to say as I only ate half they would take it off the bill. I litterly cut it down the middle and took one bite. I have never sent a meal back in my life take that as you will.

Was super excited to try out this restaurant. Made a reservation for a party of 4 on Saturday night (3/1/24) at 5:30. Arrived and was astonished at how big this place was. They open at 5 pm. Upon checking in we were told that we had to wait for a table to open up. There was no one else waiting. We were sat at 6:10. 3 out of the 4 of us had the Prime Rib. What a huge mistake. Very fatty, grizzly and tough. Wanted to send it back but our server was MIA. She was older and not in a good mood sadly. (we all have bad days and this is a tough job) When our guests asked for a soda refill she acted very inconvenienced and made a face. So between the poor food and bad service we will not be returning. Asked our guests if they would return and it was a hard No for them as well. This place has been in business 100 years so not sure what has changed.

we enjoyed our friday night out at a the Butterfly. I was not our best supper club but we were very happy with our choice. The staff as very sweet and helpful. The meals delicious and the ambiance - classic supper club!! The flavors were subtle - french onion soup had too much bread and croutons, the horseradish sauce was very very mild and the blue cheese dressing seem d to be regular ranch dressing with blue cheese crumbles on top.But those minor kinks did not diminish our experience! We especially enjoyed chatting with long-time employee Joy and listening to the lounge singers in the cocktail lounge near the main entry. If you are in the Beloit / Janesville area, check it out!

My wife and I stopped in on a Friday night with no reservation. Hostess was very kind and said they would work us in. Went to the bar and ordered a couple of drinks. Bartender was polite and attentive. Sat and listened to the lounge singer. Nostalgic touch. Loved it. 30 minutes later we were at our table. Got a wonderful lady to serve us. She ushered us thru a lovely meal. Mrs. had a filet and I had a ribeye. Both prepared perfectly. Had an ice cream drink for dessert. Prices are very reasonable. The only negative would be the clam chowder. Even then the server offered to replace it with salad that we didn't need. This is not a 5 star establishment but a solid 4.5. For value it's a 5.
