The Branded Steer

We decided to try this restaurant because it was close to our hotel, and honestly, we weren't sure what to expect given the mixed reviews. It was quiet when we went for lunch, and the service was friendly. We started with the cheese curds ($12.99) and French onion soup ($5.99) both of which were solid choices with a lot of cheesy goodness . When deciding between the meatloaf and the meatloaf stack, I asked about the difference and was told the stack is covered in gravy, fried onions, and cheese--so of course, i went with that. It's Wisconsin, after all. It was good, but if I was drunk or hungover it would have been incredible. The country music was nice, and made sure it wasn't TOO quiet. While we probably wouldn't go out of our way to return, it's a pretty good option if you're staying nearby.

Short stay in Milwaukee and saw this place close to the hotel. Sat at the bar. Bar tender was busy but able to provide good service. 10 oz NY strip was cooked rare as asked and was obvious not one of those processed steaks so many places serve. Very tasty and served with an awesome combination of grilled veggies. Decor is a bit dated but who cares if the food is great!

It is very fair to grade this 3-stars. The food will fill you up, the place is decent, service is fine. Our waitress was very slow and at one point when we got there, we thought she forgot us but finally came around. Place wasn't packed but had a decent crowd. Food reminded me of the food you'd get in those frozen Banquet TV dinners. A loaded baked potato only comes with butter and sour cream, no cheese, bacon or chives. Hadn't seen that in a long time. Bread placed on the table looked inviting but was flavorless! I honestly thought I had lost my taste buds! Overall if you are starving this will save you but if you have the time and transportation you may want to venture down the road and find somewhere else to eat.

The steak here was really good. Taste was spot on. And Kristina and her mom Tera were great hostesses! I'll definitely come back next year when I'm back in town!

Had an overnight in Milwaukee and stayed at the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Milwaukee Airport. Wanted to get some dinner and there's not a ton of options around there if you don't have a car. I ended up walking here.Staff are friendly and had me seated in no time. I ended up getting an awesome server and asked for a recommendation.I ended up getting a roast chicken with broccoli and also a small chili. I started with the chili which was alright. Once that was done the chicken and broccoli showed up. Not bad as well. If you're in a pinch and need to grab a bite, skip McDonald's and hit this place up.

I really enjoyed this place. The staff is absolutely fantastic, very positive attitudes, and very attentive to the patrons. The food was good, properly, prepared, and good portion size. The menu has a great variety, including some classic comfort style meals. You will enjoy it.

Good little "hole in the wall" typeplace that I like. Friendly bartender and quiet atmosphere.

My wife and I come every Friday, like a date night.today is 8/2/24 we came for our weekly meal,and service was pretty bad we ordered the drinks and soup,and the antrees, was 620pm,soup came,main food did not come til 715,pm,was feeling like we should have left,I was complaining to my wife how it should not take 45 min for a fish fry and a burger,the waitress heard me and said it will be another few min,finally came out at 722pm,was not that busy.so almost a full hour ,totally not right,not sure we are going back there again might have to find a new place.Anthony liesenfelder

Steak was over cooked. Server said medium was pink, not red. Steak came out overcooked. She emphasized how good their steaks were, but that proved to be a matter of opinion. The rest of the food was ok but shop around if you are looking for a great steak
