The Box

We booked this venue well in advance thanks to Jaime. We absolutely fell in love with this venue as soon as we stepped foot in it. We knew it was the one. I can't really comment on the price, as we booked this place back in 2015 and their rates are completely different now. I will say this though, even with their rates now, we'd choose the Box MKE again and again. It just totally fit our style and everything we wanted. We literally had our wedding ceremony and reception all in the same place which our guests loved! Immediately started reception and cocktail hour right after and it was greatly appreciated. I'm so glad the transition was smooth. Jaime was great to work with! She was completely professional and helpful. She was very friendly and accommodating and their staff were extremely nice during the reception. Our wedding was small, about 80. But I think it can accommodate up to 200, although I think it would feel tight. One one great thing about this place was all the decor that they already provided. We had a Game of Thrones themed wedding and their stuff went perfectly with everything we wanted. Our wedding was absolutely perfect, beautiful and classy. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

I was lucky enough to be at Elite Megan's "Game of Thrones" themed wedding here, and it may have been the most beautiful wedding I've ever attended. The venue is perfect for a smallish or small to medium sized wedding (under a 100 guests) in terms of decor (re-purposed industrial open cream brick and wood floor, big front window), location (right downtown walking distance from some good hotels), set up (the band, DJ, catering all found the place to be convenient), and staff (didn't notice them at all, completely unobtrusive).

An awesome, more affordable option on the small-medium sized wedding venue tip here in MKE!Situated in the heart of downtown, The Box is a private events space that does weddings, special occasions, corporate events + more.The owner is super duper friendly and wicked outgoing. The space itself is lovely with vintage-y furniture, a homemade bar on wheels, and warm wood floors.Liquor/wine/beer = through them (they have their license) and rock your own outside caterer. Boom.If you're having a wedding under 150 and are looking to keep it in MKE proper, this is a great sleeper spot. The price is right and the space is lovely!

After having such an awful time with our first venue, I'm pleased that we found The Box. They were professional, punctual, very easy to work with, and quite entertaining. The venue is beautiful, security and bar staff were well trained and complimentary to the festivities. They worked well with all of our vendors so we hardly had to do anything. They set up, cleaned up, and Jamie was a blast to work with. I would have given you 6 stars if I could. Thanks for delivering all that was promised and more.

This venue was fate for our wedding date, and we consider ourselves so lucky to have this venue for our ceremony. The cream city brick and wood floors make for a perfect backdrop with little distraction from the ceremony itself. The space is large enough to accommodate the altar and chairs, as well as the receiving line and area to visit with guests. The eclectic furniture and décor was everything we ever wanted, and set the space apart from other venues in the area. Jamie and Jaime were incredible to work with and the perfect blend of creative and business that made planning our big day seamless and stress-free.

I called left a message and my called was returned less than 3 minutes. Thank you for the exceptional customer service Jamie, because she went above and beyond guest expectations.

We had a really unpleasant experience with two managers at The Box, they were belittling, rude and uncommunicative. I would not suggest this venue to a friend due to poor management.

As a DJ I have had the privilege of working with a lot of planners and venues all over Wisconsin and Northern Illinois for weddings. It is safe to say that the only place I would Ever not recommend is The Box MKE. Jamie was the most unprofessional planner/Manager I have ever seen. I was appalled at the way she treated both the Bride and Groom's family. Even more so the way she treaded the catering vendors. Their staff refused to clear plates off of tables after the dinner. The mother of the Groom actually started walking around clearing tables! It got so bad that my Assistant, who also happens to be my fiancé, felt the need to start clearing tables as well so the mother of the Groom didn't have to. As far as amenities there is only 1 bathroom stall for women, and one for men. There was one garbage can in the hall, and back by the bar they just put open garbage bags on the floor. Food, and garbage was falling out of them onto the floor where people were walking. If that wasn't enough, Jamie decided that she no longer wanted to deal with the complaints that she was receiving and walked out not even half way through the reception. I feel absolutely terrible that the Bride and grooms family were treated the way they were. On a day where they should be celebrating the marriage of their children they were left frustrated, and in tears because of how the management treated them. As a member of the service industry it is our job to do anything possible for the people we are working for. In the end they are our employers., and To see someone handle their their job with such disregard for their customers was disgusting. If you are looking for a venue I highly suggest you go elsewhere.
