The 3rd Street Station

You wouldn't think March in Illinois would be Ice Cream time....but it was.We dropped in after driving to the post office to pick up a mis-routed package. It was not that hot, but I saw an ice cream place, and after a long winter, I said "Why Not?"It's a very nice place. They have some eye candy, including a working 10 cent pinball machine, and a lot of ice cream flavors, and even soft serve. They have sandwiches, lattes and fancy coffee, regular coffee, and the usual fried stuff like Cheese Curds.We went with ice cream. My wife had their Caramel Collision which was a mix of caramel ice cream and chocolate chips. I had their Black Cherry Ice Cream, which had chunks of black cherries in it.The scoops are generous - we each had one, and it was great. The ice cream tasted great, and the servers were following the COVID protocols.We'll have to stop up for lunch one day. For now, clean, well-staffed, and great Ice Cream!

Stopped by for lunch today during a ride on the Pecatonica Trail. The burgers were super fresh and delicious. Very friendly staff too. Bonus: Try the spicy cheese curds!Will definitely visit again.

Very good food. Pickup is so easy at the outside window and it's always ready when they say it's going to be. 5 stars all day.

Absolutely fantastic food, nice new owners, and a fairly reasonable price. ($6.50-8 for a sandwich. $4.50 for fries). Seriously delicious sandwiches. Totally worth a stop

The food was great but the pricing made it so I will never return. I'm not a cheap person either but $50 for hot dog and fries with two ice creams for dessert is a no. It was very quick and easy to get my food and the owners bars really nice. Would stop once in awhile but will not become my regular ice cream shop!!!

Awesome little place to stop in for lunch. The food was phenomenal, great pricing and atmosphere. By far the best chicken sandwich I have had. Very polite staff and clean building. Make sure you stop!!!

Good food, nice people and quick service. You get greeted by your name. They play the real oldies 50's and 60's like you have stepped back in time.

OMG! Good food and good ice cream! That is a hard to find anywhere. Usually it's one or the other, but this place has both. Very clean and very cutely decorated. The owners are adorable and very friendly. If ever in this area, do yourself a favor and try the food and ice cream.

This is a golden find!! Best little diner pretty much anywhere. 3rd street melt is to die for. Tender burger done just right and hubby said the burger he had was perfect! Great prices and amazing service, very friendly staff and owners. Will definitely be here again!
