Teriyaki Sushi Express

OMG This place was amazing!! I'm definitely coming back when I'm in town again!I've been eating at too many places with smallish portions during my trip to Madison, so I was super excited to see that Teriyaki Sushi Express gave me HUGE generous portions for $10!I got their teriyaki chicken that came with veggies and white rice. The meat was perfect. It was sweet and savory quality pieces of meat with no tendons or fatty pieces to discard. Perfectly seasoned with exactly the kind of sauce I love. It's very similar to mall teriyaki chicken (I'm not complaining, I'm a giant sucker for it!). The veggies and rice were fine and flavored by smothering them in the teriyaki sauce, just the way I like it!In case you missed it earlier, they do NOT skimp here! Meat, veggies, rice, it was all plentiful! It was a satisfactory meal!

Very disappointing. The teriyaki sauce is mostly soy and overly salty. The fried rice is extra dry. No flavor. No sauce for tempura? Also tempura comes with veggies but if you request that they be put in the side, you're charged $1.49 for a side of veggies. Some confusion concerning the order I guess.

I'm not a huge sushi fan in general but this stuff was pretty good! I went with the Salmon Tempura & the Chicken Teriyaki Rolls and we also got two spring rolls which were good. You'll want to order ahead of you plan to do to a to go order which I would recommend doing as the vibe inside isn't the best. The workers were very friendly tho!

Decent sushi but not the best. If you're hungry and not picky it's a good spot to get something quick

Decent by Midwestern standards, I've ordered take out twice and tried some of the following: teriyaki chicken, California roll, spicy tuna roll, gyoza, and salad. Nothing was top-tier; the chicken quality was so-so in the teriyaki chicken, with a sauce that was more salty and less sweet than other teriyaki sauce I've had in the past .the salad dressing wasn't my favorite, the California roll was just ok. The spicy tuna roll was better than expected. The gyozas were obviously just frozen potstickers zapped in a microwave. Prices are reasonable. Just based on cost and convenience I will probably be back.

I was in the sushi mood and it was right there, so why not. What I got was decent sushi at a slightly inflated price. Friendly folks.

This place is a local spot for fast food teriyaki, sushi, yakisoba, and bento boxes. The teriyaki meals come with your choice of protein and are packed with freshly griddled veggies. If your team is ready or you are extra hungry the teriyaki plates are great, asking for double meat is a local favorite and it is essential when spitting in two. The yakisoba is surprisingly traditional and full of protein, veggies, grilled noodles, and even comes with soy sauce, Srirachi, and Japanese Kewpie mayonnaise. The Mexican cooks running this joint even have a "Macho sauce for Macho Men" and it is habanero spiked, very tasty, and delivery the heat.The beto boxes options are pretty cool if you want to try a bit of everything they have to offer. Overall the prices are very reasonable, the staff are friendly, and they give samplers of some items if you are unsure about what you want.

Stopped there for lunch today looking forward to trying sushi from a new Madison restaurant. I was looking forward to the rainbow roll ($8.99) and the spicy tuna roll (can't recall the price for sure, maybe $5.99). Imagine my disappointment when they told me they didn't have any sushi available.At the time we were there, there was only one person working. He was both running the grill and taking orders. He said the rice wasn't ready. Not only did that eliminate the sushi rolls but also the bento boxes. It would have been nice if there was some sort of indication of this upon walking in as we had to wait several minutes before he was available to take our orders.I ended up going with the teriyaki tofu and hubby got the yakisoba. Just as other users have reported, the portions were generous and it was tasty. Although we were asked if lunch was for here or to go, the food still came in a styrofoam container even though we ate there in one of the booths. So unsure what the difference would have been had we ordered it to go.We definitely didn't walk away hungry, just a little disappointed just due to the whole experience. We would go back but likely not any time soon since their location isn't particularly convenient for us and we don't know when sushi might be available.

First time ordering. I ordered Teriyaki Chicken with white rice to go. He asked, "vegetables okay?" I was puzzled but said yes. The place was very clean, staff had on uniforms. I was charged $1.50 more than price on their sign because it was to go. I was given a number with my receipt. I didn't have to wait long. But the number he called was not the number on the receipt and there were other people sitting around. He then motioned to me. The container was mounded with rice, chicken with small amount of sauce on top. Around the edge was chopped up lettuce and four broccoli florets. Unfortunately the chicken meat was dark meat. I have never gotten dark meat in a chicken teriyaki meal before. I do not eat dark meat so I ate the broccoli and some of the rice with a bit of sauce. So, for me it was a disappointment and I will not be ordering there again. However if you like dark meat I am sure you will think it is good.

Totally disgusting I just ordered yesterday and the food was swimming in oil and after eat it I got diarrhea instantly looks like those cookers aren't that clean I will never eat in this place anymore totally disappointed
