kenosha got more than the culvers (or was it mcd) across the outlet mall! :P Glad we found Tenuta's on our roadtrip. Great place, sandwiches made to order and at super reasonable price. They literally have the grill at the parking lot grilling the brats. And the brats is from Usinger's so you know it's GOOOOD :DI didn't get to go inside to the grocery store section but i heard it was a great place to pack a picnic or good stuff home! Next time :D

They have a good selection of paninis, muffuletta, sandwiches and bombers, cold salad selections, soup, take and bake pizzas and other miscellaneous deli items like arancini, meatballs, lasagna, eggplant parmesan, grape leaves, etc. I stopped in for lunch and ordered a grilled panini with chicken and it was great and only $6.99. The grocery area sells just about everything you need if you're cooking Italian, and I picked up some pasta sauce and giardiniera. I was the most excited to try the cannoli based on reviews. I got one of each because I couldn't make up my mind but I honestly would have skipped. I personally didn't care for them. Some were fresher than others. For the plain shells, they tended to be soggy. The cannoli filling wasn't my favorite. It was more whipped rather than creamy and lacked flavor and the ones with nuts had a refrigerator or freezer taste. The chocolate ones were slightly better. The chocolate mousse one was decent, but not great. I ordered a selection of cookies too - the wedding cookies were okay as they were not the freshest, the Italian rainbow cookie was completely stale and inedible, the round lemon cookie was DELICIOUS and fresh and I wish I only bought these. The dipped sandwich cookie was okay but bordering stale, the butter cookies with a chocolate center were stale, almond cookies with orange zest had a refrigerator taste. The green pistachio cookies were pretty good in comparison to all the others. It was a hit or miss from cookie to cookie if it was decent or stale. I would unfortunately skip the bakery items completely as it's so disappointing to pay money for things that you ultimately can't enjoy. We tossed most of it out. Overall a really cool place and would recommend trying them out for their deli and grocery.

Back again after a few years and it is still great! Last time, we had a wonderful outdoor experience, sitting in the sun in their outdoor seating area eating Italian. This time a cold winter stop in which we picked up meatball parm subs, Italian Sausage subs, and some pasta and cheese bread. The service was great, the vibe was great, and this Italian deli is a must stop. Go. Here. Now.

Super cool store in Kenosha with iconic feel to it. I see reviews with rude staff, I had quite the opposite. The cashier was a very nice woman and gave me advice on sides that were tasty. The man working thr deli counter (a Miami dolphins fan in Wisconsin, of course we're happy). Want to come and try a sandwich! I got lasagna and eggplant parm to go. Super tasty, we all loved it.

My brother has been raving about this Deli for a long time, ever since he lived in the area many years ago. He has long since moved away (living in Houston now), but will always stop by if in the area to pick up dark chocolate covered almonds as gifts. We were in Wisconsin on a Sunday morning, so stopped by at 10:30 am. The smell of freshly being grilled brats (Usinger) filled the outside, and if it had been 11 (when the snack shop opens), I would have grabbed one. Instead, my brother bought me a freshly made meatball sandwich ($4.99). Along with homemade marinara sauce and provolone cheese, this hefty sandwich is of incredible value. There were plenty of deli workers, so they could take their time to craft an excellent sandwich. And it was really, really good...beating the many meatball sandwiches I've had since moving to California. Finished it in the car (thus no pictures). It's a steal at $4.99.

I stopped here to grab a sandwich and I went with the Roast Beef sandwich with provolone cheese. It was made fresh and served on a roll. It would have been better if they used crustier bread than what they did. The beef was very tender but didn't have a ton of flavor. It was like Italian beef, but without all the spices, it was more beef juice than anything. Overall, I was not that impressed, I thought the price was reasonable, I just was more hopeful of the flavor than what the sandwich delivered.

Prosciutto - top notch. They do put a piece of paper between slices, and when they weigh it, you're paying for the paper too. Hmm. Maybe I'll ask them not to put paper in between. Desserts - I picked out some $30 of cannolis and other desserts. Everything was delicious, and not too sugar laden, though I won't say they are the best desserts I've ever had.
