We recently stopped by the Crossroads Collective Food Hall for a date night. After enjoying a pre-dinner cocktail at a bar in the Collective, we perused our dinner options.Enter Temple Goddess.Temple Goddess serves up globally inspired vegan eats with many of their dishes having a middle eastern flare. We started our meal with vegan poutine. This dish was the star of the show for us. I have a love/hate (mostly hate) relationship to poutine because, honestly, the fries seem to always get soggy. No so, at Temple Goddess! The fries remained perfectly crispy, the gravy was incredibly flavorful, and the vegan mozzarella was the perfect accompaniment. It was divine (food fit for a Temple Goddess, let's say). For my main dish I got the chicken adonis, which is a vegan fried chicken with lettuce, tomato, pickle and mayo. It was solid. They have an array of gluten free foods to choose from (including buns for their vegan burgers) as well as everything on menu being vegan. The service was kind and accommodating.Get to it!

Very friendly service, sampled the tikka masala and was good. The wild boar also looked good, may try it next time!

First of all the menu is brilliant AND I will go back. Very good service. And I liked the food. So why not five stars? The value. I got the Archetype, thinking it was a meal, and it's really more of an appetizer or sandwich (wrap) for someone with a very small appetite. The flatbread is like a pancake and really good. Insides also good but maybe a few tablespoons worth. $17 or so after tax. However, when's the last time you went to a restaurant and weren't surprised by how little you got for the price, so maybe I'm being too hard on the Goddess!

I ordered the Adonis Burger. Now, many places that specialize in vegan food will be creative with their faux burgers--such as Twisted Plants in Cudahy and on Brady Street--but what I got here was clearly the very same veg patty that comes in a frozen package of six Beyond or Impossible Burgers that you can buy at Woodman's. I'd made one myself a day or two earlier. For $13, I expect a bit more than slapping a prefab product on a grill. On the plus side, the bourbon sauce and fried onions were tasty and well-made, and the lettuce and tomato were fresh. The bun, though, was also a bit disappointing: it seemed a little on the elderly side, and it just didn't have much flavor. Texturally it didn't quite mesh with the veg burger and accompaniments either.
