Taqueria San Jose

I've been here a few times, favorite Mexican restaurant in Rockford so far. This place is huge, clean and just pretty. Reminds me of my childhood taquerias in Chicago. Love that.the staff will address you in Spanish if they assume they know it, which I appreciate, they let you know the prices on their menu haven't been updated and they're very attentive. The food is also delicious and authentic.

Ugh...where do I start? Runny salsa and cold chips. I had 2 flour tacos; 1 chicken and 1 steak.The steak was okay except that the meat was chopped into teenie tiny pieces. The chicken wasShredded and way over-seasoned. Neither one was even warm. My husband's burrito had theSame salty, seasoned chicken. Won't be returning. I can get a better burrito and taco at TacoJohns. And, get some decent napkins.

We ordered 2 skirt steak dinners and it was like trying to cut rubber! Also, hey have different prices on their menus. Bait and switch! Once we received our bill, they raised the price on everything that we ordered. VERY, VERY EXPENSIVE. 2 meals... menu price originally $17.99, 1 appetizer and two beers cost us $90.00! How is this legal?

Went to have dinner and margs with the girls from work and was very disappointed. Food was good but they gave us virgin margs. Very upset. 0/10 on the tipsy scale. The girls and I are never coming back for drinks.

Great food that reminds me of home (San Diego CA). Excellent service, Maria was so nice. The atmosphere is like a nice family restaurant. I really enjoyed it. It's also nearby my house which is a plus.

Really weird how they don't even know the difference between a 3 taco meal and a chimichanga dinner. happened multiple times getting the wrong order delivered. think twice before delivery.

So I live in Belvedere and ordered around 10:45pm and ordered the taco dinner, said I'd like the taco's plain with steak and a side of rice and beans, nothing else.. and take the decent drive back home to be super disappointed to see this bullshit!! First of all there's no beans and has guacamole in my rice when I asked to not have that.. second why would I want lettuce if I asked for plain steak tacos.. tried to call back at 11:46pm and someone said they could credit me for the beans only! And thirdly these tacos are unbelievably dry and the meat has to be old or something cause it was like putting leather in a tortilla and taking a bite!! Just moved here and this is the second Mexican restaurant to disappoint! Just wasted $18 on this garbage!!

The food was delicious. Excellent customer service and a beautiful view .

Incredible service from our waitress, chefs & bartenders. Came here before a flight in Rockford & would highly recommend this place. Great chips + salsa, taco platters and margaritas. Not to mention great atmosphere and staff!! Thanks again!!

Acabo de ir por mi torta y llego a casa y le pongo salsa verde. La salsa tenía un cabello y le cae a mi torta. Yo no regreso a este restaurante sucio. No quiero mi dinero ni una pinche torta gratis. Vallan se a la verga.
