Taqueria

This off the road little restaurant also doubles as a small convenience/grocery store with a deli and fresh meats. The food was good... But nothing really special. I ordered a standard burrito but got half chicken, half steak so I could try both meats. The steak was good and was pretty standard (similar to burrito express, Hermandos, and Carlos River) but the chicken was a little dry and lacked flavor. Carlos River pulled chicken is still my favorite because it is so juicy and full of flavor. My wife got the loaded "super" nachos with beef. Those were very good with their fresh guacamole. Rice is good - I think they use a chicken broth or something cause it definitely had a chicken taste to it. Not bad though at all. Where this place shines though is the really friendly staff. The cooks were happy and the cashier was super nice and helpful teaching me the right Spanish words for things. We had a few good laughs. Great ordering experience over all. Lastly, the little grocery market is stocked FULL of authentic Mexican ingredients with some fresh produce and a refrigerator wall of cold drinks. They also have common items like laundry detergent, toothpaste, piñatas... Haha. An entire ceiling of Piñatas. Nice place, nice people and simple authentic Mexican food and grocery. I will be going again, but not for the chicken.
