If you're heading through Racine for any reason, Taqueria Gran Morelos is a must stop. The horchata is the best my girlfriend and I have ever had. Get the large! Not the medium! The real reason we keep coming back is the chips, salsa and guac. The salsa is a bit hot, but if you like heat it's great! The guac offsets the heat and has a rich sweet flavor. And the chips are served hot and fresh every time with a flaky crunch that you can't beat. Enjoy!

Ordered three tacos, one each bf/chx/prk to go. Outstanding! Great tomatillo green and hotter red pepper salsas, too.

This place used to be great, I feel like over the past few months, it's just gone down hill. They never have what you order, the food is over cooked and the flavor is definitely not the same. The young girl at the register is on her phone and doesn't realize orders are ready so I have to wait for her. I wanted two orders of sopes and they only had enough for one order, so I asked for gorditas and they didn't have any. Management definitely has to do something. Now they're expanding? But can't handle or have what's in their menu in stock? Thanks, but I'll go around the block.

Wow these ladies out did them selves , Good job food was awesome tostada's are the bomb they were fixed to the tee and combination made out of pork I ate everything nothing left if you want real Mexican food like homemade this isss the place to order or Carry out..

Rico! Very, very tasty authentic Mexican food. These "hole in the wall" restaurants always seem to have great, great food. If you like real Mexican food, you gotta give this place a try. Not really big enough to dine in, Take Out!

Total hole in the wall but the tamales make me so happy that I'm willing to overlook that. Choose from either red or green, doesn't matter because they are both delicious; if I had to choose I'd go with the green but it's a personal preference. Not too much masa, plenty of flavorful pork and sauce inside, not too spicy but enough to keep it interesting. That's it. Nothing fancy, just well prepared food that you can actually taste the tradition with which it was made. The tamales are only available on Sunday's, so plan ahead. Gran Morelos is a family run establishment where English is the second language, it's part of the community and they serve their community great food that stands the test of time. Don't expect great service or elegant dinning but you can expect some seriously excellent eats.

Staff is rude, if you look like you don't speak Spanish the women will talk about you in spanish when you are there. They say they cannot do a change or refund unless the owner is there even if they have made an error and they lie about when he will be in. When you do talk to the owner he is rude, defensive and hard to deal with.

Bad presentation. Cold food. Consistently messed up orders. Never going back. The remainder of this is for the purposes of elongating the review enough to submit it.

This was our second visit. I was looking forward to some amazing steak tacos like last time. Well...we were rushed because we had a time constraint so we took out food to go....I will never rush again. I got home and there is no rice and beans with my tacos. Last time I was there the rice and beans was included. Silly me for assuming it was still that way. Now it is additional. On top of that, there is a mandatory 15% gratuity. What a way to short your wait staff....I am usually a 20-30% tipper. We will not be back again.
