Taqueria El Gallo De Oro

Amazing service and food quality!!They forgot the guacamole for our takeout order and when I went and told them they put a GIANT order to make up for it!! !!Go there. It's good!!

Everyone that lives here will say this is the best Mexican restaurant. Being lucky enough to have experienced tons of amazing Mexican food in California, I'd say it's the best in town but not the best ever. They also frequently forget items if you order to go, so make sure you double check to see you have it all. If I'm craving Mexican food, this is where I go in town.

Different. There were a lot of different flavors than a normal mexican restaurant. It was fine. They had lots of sauces but I liked the plain pico de gallo they served which they called salsa. Had chicken fajitas, chicken, alpastor and chicharron tacos. They were all fine. Guac was fine with no chunks. Chicken fajitas were good with a different flavor. Rice and beans were not tasty by my standard.

Cute little restaurant. Indoor dining has 5 4-tops, 2 2-tops, and a little bar seating. Outdoor patio looks nice too. Food was delicious! Chicken fajitas were fresh and plentiful. Lots of meat choices on tacos plus homemade masa tortillas in addition to corn or flour. We'll have to come again for dinner and try some of their specialty cocktails.

This place WAS going to be my new favorite.... Until the bill came and the margarita flight was $35.00!!!!!! Give me a break. I could've ordered 3 full size margaritas for the price of a flight. Ridiculous. Overall, tacos and burrito were good. Came with 3 different types of salsa. Free chips and salsa. BUT AGAIN DONT ORDER THE $35 margarita flight. It is a rip off. It's almost all ice. Due to the fact I'm still upset about this margarita flight I probably won't go back there. They need to put the price on the menu if they are going to charge that much.

Most taco joints rarely have the trifecta..1.good food 2.good service3. good drinks"Taqueria" is it..include in this list..Ambience..cozy vibrant colors..good musicstaff is attentive and FASTTHE DRINKS HERE. (See reviews) 5 stars based on these alone. They are doing it right here and you can sense a need to improve in any way they can. As a local here it's a new "go-to" for me.

The dishes are served steaming hot, the attentive staff provide excellent service, and the overall ambience makes it a top choice for a satisfying dining experience.

Ambiance: nice decor and cute vibe! Service: could be better- staff seemed overwhelmed (we visited on a Friday evening around 6:20...called for reservation but no answer). Wait time seemed longer provided that it's a small restaurant. Food: very mediocre at the best. Very bland and not much flavour going on in any dishes, even guacamole was blah! What got me is that they added gratuity of 20% for a table of 4...let me decide how much tip you deserve...isn't that what tip is based on- the level of service you provide. It was bit of a disappointing experience. Sorry for the brutal review. Wishing the restaurant owners the best!

If you're a visitor to Lake Geneva, you're going to forgo the cheap tourist "live laugh love" apparel crap and stop in Taqueria El Gallo De Oro and pick up one of their kids or adult t-shirts (regular or v-neck) or sweatshirts (zip up or hoodie!). It's far cooler than anything else you can buy in Lake Geneva. 2. If you're smart, you'll stay for the food. A huge menu with specials and homemade tortillas. Yum! 3. If it's nice out, you'll eat in their charming patio filled with warmth and color. Too cold? The inside dining room is also warm, intimate and colorful.4. The staff is amazing. Huge shoutout to Chelsea. We came in with a group that ranged from 7 to over 80. From the moment we walked in, Chelsea made everyone in our group feel welcome. She really went above and beyond. And it's always the sign of an amazing place when the owner is casually and sincerely praised by the staff. It really seems like a special place to work. For a wonderful, memorable experience, skip Popeye's, etc. and make your way here.

My wife and grandson recently tried the ground beef and a chicken super burrito. We also had guacamole and corn chips as sides. The burritos were very generous serving's and quite tasty with lots of beef, rice, avocado and lettuce. The guacamole was good as were the corn chips. The corn chips were slightly overcooked but still tasty. All this at a much more reasonable price than you find more near the lakefront. I will return to try other items.Rick
