Tried this place for lunch and I would definitely recommend. I got a the salmon platter lunch deal. It's a great deal. Fish was so fresh and decent size. I would definitely go back. I also got the Futo Roll and Katsu Don. Futo was refreshing but not the same as the ones I usually get. I would probably skip this one next time. Katsu Don is good. Reminds me of the sushi place I used to work it.

First time ever ordering from here and we got takeout. Ordered Gyoza, a crunchy shrimp roll, and a Badger Roll. Food was ready to go when we picked it up and still warm when we got home! The gyoza was perfectly fried and the dipping sauce was super flavorful. The crunchy shrimp roll was so tasty but the real star was the Badger Roll! We will definitely be ordering more sushi from here in the future!!

I was really excited to see a great score on this place but wow, what a disappointment! Slllloooooowwwww service, rude waitstaff and meh food. They were so slow some other lady yelled at him so we didn't need to. Ridiculous!

This business has been open for five days! The interior is well done with its minimal decor. There is ample seating and being so new we had the place to ourselves.They brought out a sampler of fish/mango/tomatoes in a tempura mix that we all enjoyed which was complimentary of the restaurant opening.I ordered the shrimp and scallops hibachi. I wasn't so pleased with this dish. They do not have the hibachi tables for them to prepare so if you're into the preparation happening, just know it won't happen here. The dish was saltier than expected and I thought the scallops and shrimp were over cooked. I thought the portion size was appropriate since I'll have plenty for leftovers.I would come back to try the sushi! Colors were vibrant and the rolls appeared to be tightly rolled. They slightly missed the mark on cutting them even.They have a special where it's 10% off for their opening.

We were longtime fans of Takara on State Street so we were pretty thrilled to see this pop up within walking distance! Food is fresh and flavorful with lots of choices. Quick and friendly service. Very cute and clean inside of what was formerly Good Food. We now have two very nice sushi options near us - amazing.Extra star for excellence during COVID-19.

I've ordered a half dozen times from this place now. Good sushi for a decent price. I've liked the spicy tuna roll, shogun roll, eel and cucumber roll, futo roll, and avocado roll. They forgot one of our rolls one time. Didn't realize until I got home with the order. But generally very reliable for service and price. (I've only ever ordered take out.) Will continue to order and try new specialty rolls.

The best sushi place in Madison!!! I have tried other Japanese places but they seem to have the best quality Japanese cuisine in town! We tried Takoyaki which is a fried ball of octopus bits. Reminds me of when i had it in Tokyo. We then got calamari which was fried fresh and tasted good. For the finale we got a spicy salmon roll and and cucumber eel roll, both of which tasted fresh and the presentation was spectacular! 5/5 will be back!!

For our first indoor dining since early 2020, this was an AMAZING choice! A little tricky to find due to nearby construction, this spot is worth a bit of effort :). Our excellent experience started when we called for directions, the person on the phone was kind and patient and gave great directions.At first, we were the only diners in the restaurant, and the staff were all still wearing their masks which made us feel very comfortable. The menu is extensive, and it smells like good food immediately on arrival. The server/host was friendly and welcoming without being overbearing. We ordered 4 rolls (spider, spicy scallop, something with salmon on top, and something else that I don't remember), edamame, miso, and the white wine (the New Zealand Sav Blanc, I forget the name). Everything was expertly prepared, served efficiently, and was completely delicious. Highly recommend and look forward to visiting again soon.Small other note - shortly after we arrived, the staff started playing very loud top-40 type music into the dining space, which a) doesn't really fit the atmosphere; and b) was making conversation difficult. I like Bruno Mars, but it's kind of jarring at top volume. We asked if they might not turn it down or turn on something else - and they DID, no questions asked, I think they turned something else on later, much more quietly, that was better. It's a small thing, but really can influence whether customers linger and order more food, or want to escape ASAP. Thank you for your accomodation!
