Tacos El Rey

Local Mexican fare at great value, excellent house made salsas. We were visiting Kenosha area and needed to grab some quick takeaway. I was impressed with the value on the menu, with some really good options for dinner platters. We ordered six entrees, 3 tacos Al pastor, mixed enchiladas, beef chimichanga, combination platter, steak ala Mexicana, mixed fajita platter. Each of these came with their own refried beans and rice. I loved the beans and rice that could be its own meal right there. The house salsa were excellent. I think there was an orange one that might have contained mango? A Verde was spicy and tart. I placed the order over the phone, told me it'll be about 20 mins. I think it might have taken a little longer actually as I had to wait a bit, and the checkout process was a little tedious as they have to ring you out only after completing the order ticket. It was the middle of dinner service so lots of customers queued up, that I had to wait to get my order and then process payment.All in all a good experience. Loads of good food at great value.

A solid Mexican establishment in Kenosha, WI. We were in the area and found this place on Yelp. We needed to have dinner on a weekday night. There was a line to pick up the food, must be the spot to grab some Mexican food around. And it definitely was, the food was pretty good and the portions were quite large as well. I really enjoyed my entree, the steak ala Mexicana. I have never had something like this before at a Mexican place but essentially it was small strips of sirloin sautéed all together with some peppers and onions. Great flavor. The salsas they had as well went great with it. The portion was definitely more than enough for 1 person. And I missed out on the tortillas that were supposed to come with it because we never got them. Next time I'm in Kenosha this is on my list again to try more things!

Food: Looking for good Mexican food in the midwest, specifically in Kenosha, WI? This placeis it! They have a plethora of options from tacos, burritos, sopes, combination plates, tamales during the holiday season, and even a few desserts! Drink options include fountain beverages, bottled drinks, beer and a few liquor options. Service: limited contact with staff, but pretty good. Melissa, a lady that seems to always be working, is pretty friendly and efficient. Customers place orders at the front register, then sit down for the food to be brought to you. The sauces, silverware, napkins, and straws are at a self-serve station. Personally, I love the medium sauce in the middle and the fresh jalapeños! I've tried so many things off the menu to list, but my favorites are the asada tacos, asada mexicana, and a sirloin tip burrito enchilada style! Value: Like everything else, I've noticed the prices have increased through the years. tacos are approx $2 each, burritos are approx $8-13 depending on the kind and if you get enchilada style. Ambiance: pretty quiet with a tv playing, unless it's busy. If it's busy, you'll hear the chatter of people, maybe some hispanic music playing, and the phone constantly ringing. Delicious authentic Mexican food on the north side. Great to eat in our to go. Nice outdoor seating options, big dining area inside. Delicious margaritas and the tacos are bomb

Nice staff, food has always been good. Good for group dine in or just taking out. Wish they still had the Racine location.

The staff is always friendly and the food is consistently good. We now live out of town but go back when we are there.

We need you back in Racine, nothing is as good. The quick service, quality food, ease of pickup or dine in and the friendly staff.

Their bean burrito with steak is simply amazing, Ive never had a better burrito. I suggust buying two with one in a combo. Try one hot and one cooled down, personally I think its better cool because the meat is so tender that it matches the consistency of the hot beans when hot. You can bite into the tender meat and notice it more when its room temp

I seriously love this place. I haven't had any thing bad from here I recommend to the highest. I'd like to order extra food for the leftovers.
