Like any solid authentic spot this place isn't trendy or in a popping location. Located in a strip mall the outside is modest but it inside the atmosphere is busy and the fragrances are profound. We went on a Saturday night and waited probably 30-40min for a table. Service was no nonsense and no fuss. You got seated when you got seated. If you're someone who needs hand holding this isn't the place. After seating service was prompt. We order hot and sour soups, pork chile wantons, chicken lo mein, dry pepper chicken, mapo tofu, and general tso's chicken. Portions were excellent and flavors were great. Our total bill was around $90 and we have enough leftovers for dinner tomorrow. We will definitely be back.

If you're looking for an authentic Chinese restaurant experience this is your spot. The menu has a plethora of options from hot pot to noodles and all in between. We ordered a mix of dishes, the dumplings were delicious, we shared the garlic beef and kung pou. I'm already dreaming of coming back to try other dishes! There's traditional style tables and the service is quick!

My husband and I were excited to taste the food given all the wonderful reviews. But, as he stated, it seems like they just use one sauce and one flavor. And it's hot and overwhelms the other tastes. I can't comment on whether that's authentic or not. I just know it is not very good

This is my top-rated Asian restaurant, and I can't count how many times I've been here. I've recommended it to many friends, family members, and even people from out of town. Whenever we host or eat with groups, we always come here. I've tried so many of their dishes, and I've never been disappointed. If you want authentic Asian food, not the Americanized version, this is the place to go.If you want my dish recommendations, here are a few favorites I always order:* 013 Beef Tendon in Chili Sauce (麻辣牛筋)* 049 Braised Pork Belly (糯香红烧肉)* Kung Pao Chicken (宮保雞)* Salted Fried Fish* Mapo Tofu or Tofu Stone PotMost of their appetizers are also delicious, and they serve the food very quickly. If you can't eat spicy food, I recommend asking before you order. Some dishes are spicier than what you might find at most American Asian food restaurants. For example, the Mongolian Beef is spicier than usual.

Sze Chuan is an authentic restaurant, duly serving good dishes from the Southwest of China. Many of the diners were Chinese, a good sign in any restaurant serving food from the world's most populated country.Service was poor at first but improved as time went by. We ordered the House Special Dry Pot, Homestyle Tofu, Spicy Pork Dumpling, and Shrimp with vegetables. I loved the dumplings, shrimp and tofu. The Dry Pot was not enjoyed by my spouse. Asking for mild spiciness was the correct move.Sze Chuan Restaurant is located in a West Allis strip mall with several Asian businesses. You will dine on authentic food in a modest space. I loved it, and my bottle of sake was the perfect partner to every dish. No spirits are served at Sze Chuan, only beer and wine. There is no bar. I will return soon.

Maybe we ordered the wrong things but we ordered a pickup dinner for the family on Thanksgiving night after picking everyone up from the airport. We ordered wonton soup, broccoli beef, chicken with snow peas, and white rice. It was ALL mostly flavorless and simply not that good. I've heard such good things about this restaurant, I was surprised by this experience. The food was fresh and the portions were good, just the flavor was off. I won't be coming back.

Came by for dinner. Ambiance is cozy, service was fair and food was memorable. Serving sizes were all family style and all of our dishes tasted distinctive. Very please, we will be back. Our highlights were the chicken soup, garlic eggplant and fried rice.

I'm pleasantly surprised there's a really good Szechuan place. Takeout was super easy. The inside looks pretty spacey. I got the spicy pork dumplings and shrimp and broccoli and both were so good. My only regret is not asking for more spicy!

I'd say Sze Chuan is hands down the best Chinese food in the greater Milwaukee area. Super authentic! Great flavors and even better spice. We got the egg rolls, spicy pork dumplings, cucumber salad, Mongolian beef, fried rice, and the crispy chicken in garlic sauce (not pictured). We left in a food coma with leftovers to eat later and remember just how great of a place it is.
