Sushi King

Sushi King is a wonderful occasional treat for me. The atmosphere is quiet for a weekday lunch. The nigiri is very fresh and the sushi chefs and servers friendly and stay busy. I particularly like the Gyoza the unagi and yellowtail Nigiri. I'm not a roll person so can't speak to that. Also the sake (salmon) and Tamago nigiri is good. Hope to return again soon.

when I walked inside, I was greeted by the bells and jingles of the door, I feel like I had a cultural experience. There was a baby crying and the employees soothe the baby with songs I've eaten her before and I really enjoy the food, definitely check out the whole you can eat sushi thing, it's worth every penny.

I am really sad to leave a 3-star review because I liked the buffet style, our waitress, the appetizers, and how fast the food came out. Basically I liked everything except for the sushi. As an Asian, I start making rice when I was a little girl using rice cooker. You cannot mess it up. However, the rice in the sushi was not fully cooked and was not soft - I could not enjoy my sushi because I was really disappointed with the texture of the rice. Also, some of rolls do not look like the pictures in the menu - my husband was very distracted by the appearance discrepancy. Oh the store front looks tiny but the inside is huge - could easily fit 200 people.

Dined here as a group on two recent occasions. We have been to this place before and just never left a review. We have liked this place for years, and loved that it has been consistently good! Yes, it is AYCE! Yes, it is in McHenry, IL! Yes, it has good quality fish! And yes, the variety of rolls is great and they all taste great! Plus the staff is friendly, helpful, and the ambiance is warm and inviting. Just like everywhere else, the price has gone up a bit over the years, but for $30 per person, you can truly get all your sushi cravings satisfied!If you are in the far NW suburbs, and in the mood for all you can eat sushi, definitely check this place out!

We ordered takeout tonight and had the crappiest dinner we've had. Hibachi chicken, Hibachi shrimp, Hibachi veggies, some yakasoba noodles, sushi, crab Rangoon and tempura veggies. The tempura veggies were decent. Everything else was terrible. They forgot an order of sushi,but everything was so awful we're never going back. The leftovers will be going in the trash tomorrow. Flavorless other than salt. Just yuck. I've had good Japanese food, so this was a major disappointment. I'm hoping that at least we don't get food poisoning.

We had high hopes for this place, having heard from a friend that it was good. It has a very charming interior and we were quite eager to order. Unfortunately, the sushi was awful. Flavorless and chewy. The rice was even bad. I finished the very mediocre gyoza, but literally had to spit out my sushi into my napkin toward the end and couldn't finish my meal. My wife was unable to eat a single piece. The fish didn't seem stale or spoiled, it was just bad. The extra fifteen minutes to drive to Kyoto Sushi and Steak House in Crystal Lake continues to be worth it.

The sushi was fresh and portions a nice size. Was there for early dinner and service was very good.

A few things to say about this place. First of all I DoorDashed it and got the Dinner 3rolls 2pc which fed 2 of us for only 30 dollars it's a steal! I got crab Rangoon which is some of the best I have ever had! I also got mountain roll which was very good and my cousin got the California roll which was very good he also got crab nigiri which was good. Lastly I got the spicy tuna roll which was good but nothing special. The only reason I do not give it 5 stars is because I also ordered kimchi which was not very good. It was very watery and just not fresh. The presentation of the box was nice it was decorated a bit. Would recommend and will order again!

New to area this was a great find. The food was exceptional and very good along with the service was great. Can't wait to return.

Continues to be our favorite place for a big dinner. Stellar food, service and atmosphere. Love, love, love!
