Sunset Grill Pewaukee

Wow! It was a beautiful evening dining outside with 5 other friends on the lower patio. The umbrellas helped with the bright sun and the tables filled up quickly. All 6 of us loved our meals: Margaritas, Mojitos, Crispy Chicken Sandwich, BBQ Pulled Pork, Tator Tots, Crab Cakes, Chicken Salad, Patty Melt, and the most incredible $15 Steak Special! There was not a misstep with the food. But let me tell you the steak special was unexpectedly wonderful, and we still can't believe it was only $15 for the delicious steak, potatoes and veggies! Although we have lived in the area for a few years we had never been here and now we find ourselves looking forward to coming back. The place opens for lunch and I think we will try that next time.For all 6 of us the bill was $155 before the tip, which is very reasonable, especially since we had drinks also.I find nothing to complain about. I do wish our server had been less busy, but she did just fine for us and we left feeling we had just had a great meal in a great atmosphere.

Our group of eight stopped in for a late-ish dinner after boating on the lake on a Thursday. Given it was nearly 7:30pm there were still people lingering so we had to wait about 20 mins for an outside table. No way were we sitting inside because that is why you come to a place like this.We did order a few drinks at the bar and they do have a pretty interesting selection of specialty drinks that are not too expensive. Once seated we were able to order quickly and the food was out in a jiffy given the crowd had thinned. The food was a disappointment - not a surprise for places in this type of location where it is all about the view. The cheese curds were OK but their version of a Muffuletta sandwich was weak and a bit dry. The chicken burrito was a bit more successful. When we were done eating our waitress was no where in sight and we had to send a coworker out to find her after a long wait.We had been here before for drinks and I think next time we will stick to the drinks.

What an absolutely change of quality and experience! The food was excellent and it came out fast. The music was great too! Total re-do! Go there and enjoy.

Great location on the lake, beautiful setting, stop for drinks and appetizers and both were very good......service was not exceptional, asked for a glass for our beer and and after waiting what seemed like an eternity I went to bar and helped myself. I could understand if they were busy, but that was not the case.

Very nice spot that is right on the lake! The service was amazing. Our waitress was very friendly and she checked on us frequently. I would go there for drinks but would pass on the food apart from the wings (wings were great and they are 75 cents on Wednesday). The pizza was okay. It needed more sauce and to be hotter. The paninis also needed to be hotter. Again, nice place for drinks and some apps because the atmosphere is nice and it's right on lake but wouldn't eat a meal here. They also have live music on the weekends!

Popular shore-side Grill brought six of us to try typical American grill food. Outside tables jammed at lunch with a very loud band that gave a few reason to dance. Place to see locals, but nothing creative about the food to pull you from a distance. The Lake District west of Milwaukee should be a draw for those who love the water, but know that eateries along Lake Michigan are all top-dollar places. Nice waitstaff; burgers, fries, etc., etc.

Had chicken parmigiana that was probably the best I've had. Food was brought out quickly and server was so very nice.

Always busy starting late afternoon so can be very difficult to get a table. Starting at 5 they have a host/hostess available for outdoor seating but not for the inside or the deck. Very odd that part of the restaurant is an every man for himself situation with seating. Found several issues with the food. The poppers sounded interesting as they are fried in egg roll wrappers. They arrived soggy and the bacon inside was way undercooked. Why wouldn't you use cooked bacon?? The server was kind enough to remove from our bill. My next visit I ordered the chimichanga. The description seemed like lettuce was part of the filling so I ordered without lettuce just to be safe. It arrived and yes, the chimichanga was deep fried with lettuce INSIDE! Why on earth????? It really would have been delicious without the hot soggy deep fried lettuce. The views are wonderful and the remodel is great as is the variety on the menu but the food just always falls short. Nothing has a wow factor and other things are just executed poorly. Good drink prices.

It's very cold in the restaurant even though it was 40 degrees out! The waitress was attentive, and the lunch food was good. There weren't many people there when we were though.
