I like how they over cooked my sunny side up eggs and cut around the white cap to pull it off the yoke, nice.

Food was cooked properly, atmosphere was calm. food and atmosphere were better than than a chain like roadhouse. orzo chicken soup was very good, 5 and 6 yo. daughters loved it. i had a gyro, my wife had ribs and chx, kids had kids meals. Service was pleasant.

If you're looking for a fine dining experience, this is not to place. If you're looking for a kitschy local diner with quick service and decent food, you're in luck. I've been coming to Sunset Family Restaurant for years now, and I've always had a pretty good experience. In all honesty, the ladies at the front who run the cash register and usher you toward your table are pretty cold. The servers aren't always super friendly, but you can without a doubt count on your food being delivered to your table promptly. Whenever I visit, I always go with breakfast food. You really can't go wrong with pancakes or an omelet. (The Denver omelet is particularly yummy.) But it's pretty annoying that you can make a whole lot of substitutions. Sometimes I just want a single pancake, but each time I've been told you have to order a minimum of two. One thing about this place to note is that the food isn't really worth the price. Is it yummy? For sure. But I would say the meal is generally worth half of what you're actually paying for it. Sunset Family Restaurant is most definitely a Waukesha staple. You'll get seated and served very quickly and the food is always good. But don't expect a five star experience.

I have been eating breakfast at this place since i was young, going here has always felt nostalgic. Their hash is amazing, and there club and soup are good. Their service was amazing, and the waitress we had has a very good sense of humor. Every bit of this breakfast and lunch was worth saving.

Came here with a coworker for a quick lunch over our lunch break. Our waitress was phenomenal!!! So sweet, accommodating, and fast since she knew we were in a time crunch. Our (free) soup, burger, fries, and chicken Cesar wrap hit the spot. Received plenty of refills on soda/water and the (free) homemade rolls given to us with our soup were much appreciated and very good! The atmosphere is just a-ok but it was clean and comfortable. Would definitely return with a coworker for a working lunch. We also wanted to support them since they made a large donation to the Waukesha Fund for the parade tragedy. Good restaurant with friendly staff. The food is always a good temperature and and menu has a good selection. The only drawback is that the place is extremely noisy. Usually we are there for breakfast and the clanking of dishes and constant noise is annoying. This is the only reason I gave it the 3 star rating.

We love this place. HUGE menu.If you can think of it...it's probably on the menu. Quite a bit of wait to get our food but it was worth the wait. Waitresses run their butts off. My only suggestion is to hire more staff. We'll be back!

First time going here. Took quite awhile to be waited on. Didn't even get water for over a half hour. Burger was good. My friend ordered something and they were "out of it". How can you be out of sirloin steak?

They gave my friend cold coffee but then gave him hot coffee. But I think that they should serve there customers with hot stuff not cold stuff. Otherwise the service was pretty good.
