How can I give any less than 5 stars to a grocery store that sells swag from the local high school? Go Blackhawks! I was in town for two days and visited twice. The staff were exceptionally friendly. Of course some items are premium priced for the vacationers. I certainly didn't mind paying. The store well stocked. The only proprietary item I purchased was the "light pasta salad"; delicious. Grabbed another 1/2 pint on my second visit.

Thank God for Sullivan's.Otherwise, when we camp at Apple River Canyon, we'd have to drive across the line to Wisconsin to get our supplies. Some things are priced a little high, IMO. We try to go with as many generic items as possible, such as paper towels, lighter fluid, and......well, I don't know. Paper towels and lighter fluid. They stock 20 and 40 pound bags of ice, firewood, Jiffy Pop, etc. (FYI - Don't try to pop that over a campfire, even if there is a grate over it. I can't believe we didn't come away with 3rd degree burns. The best part is that there is an impossible to miss warning stamped on the package about this very thing. We thought we were better than the warning. Wrong. If you don't have a camp stove, or a welder's mask, don't mess with Jiffy Pop.) Anyway, everything you need for a perfect camping weekend. AND....half-dozen packages of eggs. I love that. You don't always need a dozen eggs in life, fellow campers. When you leave the campground, after a few minutes you go right at the 1st real road. Go south for a few minutes. You'll see a big red barn on your left chock full of Holstein cows. Continue south and go over big-ass hill. Turn right at stop sign. Go west for 3 minutes. Arrive at Sullivan's. I included that b/c there is no signal of any sort up there, so forget about GPS. You're welcome!

First off; the workers are good people, this has noting to do with them or Jerry.. I took it upon myself to compare shopping at Monroe, Pick N Save, Rockford's Valli's, and Hyves in Dubuque. How does this store justify the pricing of their subpar selection? The Stockton store is sad. When Covid was happening this store never closed once; RIP the original owner. Now that he's gone, how about joining the 21st century? The food selection is unappealing. No, they do not raise their price of meat for the Chicago visitors; it's always high, similar to better stores. This weekend I cooked steaks I froze, it was awful. I gave it to my dogs. IF you charge premium $ then you should offer that quality. For me, I'm done.I will gladly shop in Monroe, Dubuque or Rockford. It's bad that there are no restaurants or options. The options here are so sad. This is the primary reason we're moving...the food options are pathetic, especially since I'm used to GOOD food or GREAT menus options. This is my last post; you;ll never change.

We are from Chicago. With that said many are aware of the variety that the city has to offer. We live here now. It is depressing to shop at Sullivan's in fact I try not to.I do like their bulk bacon, which I thought that they always have. Apparently not.So, without the bulk bacon being available I no longer see the need to shop there. Not a pleasant experience...heard many negatives regarding the family and working for them is from what I have gathered not a good experience. Thanks, but no thanks.
