If you like playing slots while sitting at a dirty table this place is for you. Rude and slow service combined with high prices and TVs blasting Fox News. Average bar food, at best, that can be found just about anywhere.

Food and service were top notch!! The cheese curds are fresh and delicious! We had their homemade pizza...bacon cheeseburger and Mac & cheese. Plenty of topping and a homemade crust that was crisp and flavorful, but not cracker thin!Highly recommended!!!

TALK ABOUT DUMB LUCK! This is the second time in a year that we wanted to eat at Baumgartner's Cheese Store & Tavern and it was closed. Last summer it was closed on Monday. This year the power was out. So as we did last summer we returned to Suisse Haus Food and Spirits. I'm from Chicago so I don't get here often and I know kinda' know what I want. Like last year I wanted a braunschweiger sandwich. We had burgers outside then.My friends who are local like Limburger Cheese Sandwiches and not only did they have that, they also served Liver Sausage Sandwich with Cheese, which is braunschweiger. This fantastic place which has an amazing history to Swiss immigrants also served our sandwiches on marble rye. When our wonderful and attentive (and easy on the eyes) waitress Elle, who was also very busy but we couldn't tell, brought our food you should have seen our eyes. the cheese was cut THICK as was my braunschweiger. I also had fried pickles which I was unable to finish because the sandwich was so damned huge and at $5.75 was an unreal deal. I'll be back again and again and...well you get it. My new go to in Green County WI. Thank you cooks and thank you Elle. Hope to see you all during Cheese Days.

After not getting into the first choice Tex mex place on the square and finding that the bars didn't serve food we wound up here, it's a block off the square by the way. When you walk in the place screens Wi bar and grill and obviously the place to go since you can actually get in with mostly no wait it seemed, I could see on a Friday night there could be a wait but people just kept coming in and filling up the place. As you walk in you are slapped in the face with the bar and taps on the right with all the wood from the ceiling to walls everywhere like some massive tree threw up all over the place. There is a small open grill at the end of the bar with people feverishly working it. On the left is the dining area which is not that big and wood everywhere again filled tables and chairs. This place doesn't miss represent what it is with the menu, it's bar food with pizza, salads, wraps, burgers, sandwiches and appetizers. This was all we had time for and still make the movie so it will have to do. The menu states it's the second oldest building in town and around for 132 years. The menu also states that the 1/3 lb burgers are fresh ground chuck so I'm down for one.We started with tha hodgepodge which was frys, rings, curds, mushrooms and cauliflower breaded and fried. This was nothing special and just average frozen bar food. I had the bacon cheeseburger and I'm told that rare is possible so let's see how this goes. There is a relish tray that comes to the table with thin sliced pickles, relish and sliced raw onion. When the burger hit the table it looked like rare, it has a look. It's on a toasted soft bun and not one of the dense crappy kinds, the bacon was skimpy because it looked like two cut 3 1/2 inch slices were snipped off the strip. The burger was cooked rare, thank you but there was no big flavor to it. The patty was nice but not seasoned and no grilled flavor, probably just a flat top grill job. The bacon didn't have any complementary smokey flavor so even though it was fresh it was seriously on the boring side because I didn't use any ketchup, mustard etc because I wanted to sample the true flavors. Get one of the special burgers for flavor I would suggest because meat and bacon was pretty average even if fresh. This was average bar food and nothing horrible but definitely not a destination restaurant by any means nor was the burger a destination burger, well maybe for Monroe and that's just based on my travels. I would try the pizza next time if I found my self there again.

A nice little bar and grill in a nice little town. It was the first place the employees at Minhas suggested, so we strolled the single block down 12th and took a seat at the bar.Suisse Haus, much like many of the businesses in the area, looks like an adorable Swiss ski chalet. Inside, it's not as fancy. There's a huge bar when you enter and the back wall is covered with booze bottles and candies for sale. The rest of the dining areas appeared to have moveable tables and were decorated with beer signage. The patio area, however, looks as though it would be extremely welcoming when the weather is nicer. My friend and I both ordered the Corned Beef Reuben Sandwich. She went with a side of Fries and I got the Fried Cheese Curds. Everything is a la carte. Neither side really did it for me. I'd skip adding them on next time or maybe just go for a half order of the Fries. The Corned Beef, on the other hand, great! That recommendation did not disappoint.I rounded up slightly on the tip, so it came to $20 for the Reuben, Curds, and a bottle of Angry Orchard Crisp Apple Cider. You can easily get away with spending even less if you take advantage of their draught selection.

So my husband had the bacon jammer sandwich from the burger contest which was flipping amazing. The smokiness of the peppered bacon jam with the slight heat of the jalapeno strips was divine. The burger was fat, juicy, and cooked perfectly. I, however, got the kentucky bourbon chicken sandwich. Do NOT get the chicken. I dont even know how to explain the weird, firm, rubbery texture but it didnt even taste like something edible. The sauce and cheese were fine so the sandwich would've been good had it not been for the messed up chicken texture. Not sure if it was like frozen & 100 years old and then microwaved or what but it was bad. So 5* on the burger but 1* on the chicken. I must just make bad choices because ive had other things here with mixed results as well. Guess next time ill stick with the burger

3-stars for Suisse Haus. Within my mind, that translates to: "it's an okay place, but I don't need to return". The highlight of our meal was my daughter's grilled cheese sandwich. Everything else was lackluster.

I called to get a carry out pizza. When the lady answered the phone, the first thing out of her mouth was "it's going to be 45 minutes. Very sharp and rude. I was looking at their online menu to order a pizza. I said I would like green and black olives. The lady very rudely said the order came with green and black olives. I said I was looking online and it did not show both but thank you. Once again, she barked at me and said it was going to be 45 minutes. I told her that was fine. When I got there to pick up the pizza, the bartender came out with a weird look on her face. She asked me if I asked for a menu and I told her no. She made a face, knowing that the person that took my order was being a little snot as she got a menu and stapled it all over the cover of the pizza box. I guess that was her way to show me, that she was right in telling me that their menu showed both olives. The thing is, I specifically said it was the online menu that was wrong. She did not need to be snotty on the phone or to staple a takeout menu all over the top of the box.Pizza itself was OK, but I always have to take it home and throw it in the oven.

Excellent food and service. I typically have a burger while my wife has the ham and swiss. Typical ambiance you would expect from a traditional Wisconsin bar, nice and comfortable. Prices on par with other local establishments, I recommend the Suisse Haus for a good burger and beer.
