I have been driving past this place for years but I never stopped because it looks like a shit hole and it's a classic Wi corner dive bar. I was in the area today so I stopped by and the lack vehicles in the parking lot led me to believe that it was closed but an open sign was on. The place is nothing fancy and empty on a day with a lot of festivals going on. Brian was the only person in the place except for the bar tender so it was empty. As a new person I must say that I talked to Brian and the bar tender for an hour and a half so the place was welcoming and not clicky like some bars. The drinks are reasonable with a tall rail cocktail at $4 which was nice.

Located very near the corner of 68th and Forest Home Ave., the Sugar Cane is a dive bar that you will fall in love with! The entire place is covered with completed jigsaw puzzles...the walls, the ceilings, there are even puzzles in the bathrooms! Want to put one together or maybe even play a board game? They're stacked up in the corner....grab one and start! Video games and a pool table are here too.Bottles of PBR and cans of Blatz are only $2...always!Secret shots are always $1! Even the bartenders don't know what they're pouring! The jukebox has the most unbelievable mix of music inside of it for cheap! If you can't find even one song you like, get out, you don't belong here. This bar supports a variety of charities....just ask. With a donation, there are guessing games and wheels to spin so you can show your support too!You will absolutely feel welcome in this bar, whether you're a newbie or a long standing customer. Shut up, stop in. Say hi to Duane and Sharon.7/2016

This is a dice with a private party room and it because of this the place appears bigger than is. This place has a pool table and a couple of TV sets and video gaming and may be targeted for old crowd. They have a wheel chair for use to its patronage in back

Woof, what a dump.If it were still 1947 and this place were up north, buried deep in the woods, and was someplace that you would normally snowmobile to, I'd rate it higher. As it stands, this place is on 68th & Forest Home, and in the 21st century. This might be the place that Time and Micro Brews forgot. Stopped in here for an after-work happy hour. Two of my co-workers ordered Brandy Old Fashioneds. It took the bartender about 10 minutes to make their drinks. As she delivered them, she apologized saying that she hadn't made them in a long time. What bartender in Wisconsin never makes BOFs? I understand they were terrible. One of my other co-workers ask for an IPA list. I chuckled as the bartender asked what that was.. Sugar Can has three tappers: Miller Light, MGD, and PBR. The place is a time warp in a bad way, but our bartender was very friendly. Will I be back? probably not. But then again, maybe when I'm about 80.

Sugar Cane TavernI live near by, and this may be my favorite neighborhood corner bar. Friendly bartenders, friendly patrons, and friendly owners (Duane and Sharon) .The sugar Cane has been here for decades, and after driving by hundreds of times for almost ten years, I've finally discovered it. No clique vibe here. We felt welcome here right from our very first visit.Cheap drinks without the college bro's, it's an older crowd here. They have PBR, Lite, and High life on tap. No funny weird taste, they keep their lines clean. Bottles of PBR and cans of Blatz are $2. Bottles of Hacker-Pschorr Weisse are $3. Mystery shots are $1. There's a pool table in back, another room that they open for parties, and 3 t.v.'s There's an arcade bowling game, dart board, and video games, as well as board games for use. They also have a pretty decent old school CD juke box as well. I'm not a fan of karaoke, but they have microphones for impromptu karaoke, and it's been fun the few times they've done it.They support local charities as well as veterans with raffles, etc. This place probably hasn't been remodeled inside or out in decades, but I like that. It's like traveling back in time. It's a good corner dive bar. I mean that in a good way.

They have a wonderful soloist who they call "Jukebox Jenny". One of Milwaukee's best bartenders, Sherri. A huge selection of cheap drinks & good music. Also a variety of snacks to chose from for your drunk munchies. I love it.

Let me ask you this question.. where can you go to a bar that provides you cold fresh drinks and the opportunity to buy previously owned goods at an amazing deal. I left with a solid buz and a sweet star Jean flannel. Can you ask for more? Honestly no. I hear they have karaoke. I can't wait to come back and rock some Kelly Clarkson. Cheers!

I've never been there in my life. Felt like I've been in the neighborhood forever. What a refreshing feeling. I just moved into the neighborhood from the inter city. I have peace and quiet and it sure was nice to find a place with REAL people. Cold beer . Good whiskey. Bunny. The Wheel of misfortune "16". Like cardboard crack but different. Had a blast. I'll be back. Don't change a thing. I lived on Brady St. for years and my favorite bar there was simple, BRUNO"S. Non-yuppy. A typical beer and shot joint. Leave the the B.S. at the door. Pauly would tell the the yuppies if they came in and ordered Cosmos or Martinis to go to the the Hi Hat or to go to go to Shorewood. Too bad Jackie finally gave in and sold the place and Brady Street lost its last real common people bar. I salute the Sugar Cane. A dying breed but so am I. Long live us both. And let "16"roll and don't change a thing but give Bunny a raise. See you all soon.
