Used Stoddard's for our wedding. Their menu options were easy to understand, and pricing was very competitive. Jerry was able to answer every question we had, and he and his team seamlessly handled the day-of operations. Our guests loved the food, and we didn't have much in the way of leftovers (a good thing). The glazed pork tenderloin in particular was a standout. They also had some good-looking specialties available at their shop, for those looking for retail options.

A decade or more ago I would swing into this meat market in search of beef jerky. Back then I also shopped for the occasional cut to grill at a friends home who at the time lived nearby. That was long ago. Today I wanted beef jerky but left with smoked brisket. Because it was sealed in a plastic bag it's likely it's shelf life could be eons. I didn't bother to inspect any date of production codes, I only cut open an end and ate a few wet (yes, drenched, as though it was swimming in the confined airtight compartment!) strips. I didn't exactly know what I should expect, but wet salty bacon looking slices wasn't anticipated. Taste was good, but didn't fulfill the jerky-jones I wanted to relieve. Thinking back, I am thinking MSG, the yummy and (erroneously) feared stuff Chinese restaurants liberally utilize to assure the food is addictive in such a way you want to keep adding as soon as swallowing the previous bite. That's a good thing. The meat was indeed something I finally had to take a stand against and forcefully stop myself from consuming. It was delicious but strange. I doubt I'd buy it again, though my daughter who historically claims to HATE MEAT, busted in layer that day when I returned to get her, and devoured it. Last time that happened was the day I myself smoked some jerky at home. I was told by my wife "Nicole was eating that jerky you made, until I told her it was meat, then she stopped and refused to eat more. Haha, at least she ate a bunch, because I wasn't going to, I didn't care for the seasoning I used.

A nice local business in a small town. Called he needs with a relatively decent selection of beef another prepared sausages and the like. The pork selection is somewhat limited, and the poultry selection is scarce. However, if you are looking for a great beef roast or steak or any kind of custom order, this is the place to go. They are extremely accommodating, very friendly and knowledgeable, and the rewards program is pretty impressive.Side note: their jerky and dried beef are to die for! Salty delicious bits of heaven!

We used Stoddards as the catering for our wedding. I cannot recommend them enough! Jerry was amazing to work with and very accommodating especially during Covid times. He worked within the Dane County restrictions safely but also helped us get what we wanted. Our guests especially raved about the pork!! Thank you, Jerry and Stoddards for making this part of our wedding absolutely seamless!

This is the only place my family will purchase meat from. We started shopping there about 2 years ago and will never go back. Their meat is fresh and never frozen, it tastes SOOO much better than the grocery store and is nearly the same price. I am still working on my cooking skills so I love that the staff is knowledgeable and can help me pick a good cut for my recipe.

This past June I oredered a delicious pig for my wedding. I had a contract for the pig to be cooked, delivered and sliced. This contract listed this, plus a table and a tent to cover in case of rain,( which it did, as expected.) They arrived on time with table to carve but no tent for coverage. I briefly conversed with the staff after the ceremony and was told they were unable to provide tent due to it being needed for another cookout earlier that day. I worked very hard to make my wedding day as perfect as I could and this was something that was out of my control. After hearing this we didn't discuss it anymore for as you can imagine I was quite busy. The pig was delicious but I was a bit miffed that no one even reached out to me after to apologize and explain how this ball was dropped on the big day. The contract was as simple as can be Pig Table Tent

Small shop in a small town, very clean, friendly service. Minimal selection of Boar's Head deli meats - just basic turkey, chicken and roast beef. I didn't notice any chicken thighs in the meat case, only chicken breasts. There were cuts of beef as well but I didn't look closely at the offerings. They do custom sausage orders, which can be made with pork or beef. If you live in town and you are looking for a convenient place to get some meats, this is a nice place. If you're looking for variety, look elsewhere.

Jerry and his team were absolutely FANTASTIC to work with as our caterer for our family-style wedding meal! We got to pick from a variety of options to try at our initial tasting and the experience was so easy-going and fun! We never felt pressured at any point to make a rushed decision. We had so many compliments from our guests about our food and we were so glad to work with such a professional and reputable caterer! Jerry even checked in with us during our dinner to make sure we were enjoying our meal and his staff were so sweet. Great local business to work with!

We used Stoddards as the caterer for our wedding. The food itself was good, but that's about the only positive thing I can say. They were a hassle to deal with throughout the entire wedding planning process. They would take weeks to respond to questions we had and would only respond after repeatedly contacting them asking to speak to the owner and getting lucky enough to catch him at a time when he was at the store. I often felt like they were unorganized and couldn't be trusted to carry through on what we talked about because it seemed like every time we talked I had to re-explain our situation. At the wedding itself, they seemed to be understaffed and acted unprofessionally throughout the night. We were asked during the dinner whether or not we would like coffee to be left out past dinner (the cake hadn't even been cut at this time), but if we chose to leave it out then we would have to figure out how to get the coffee containers back to them within the next couple days. This wouldn't have been a problem if they would've considered this before the wedding, but since my wife and I were leaving for our honeymoon the next day we didn't have time to figure out how to get the containers back to them and really just think this could have been solved by asking this question beforehand. Once we got to cutting the cake, Stoddard's staff would cut a few pieces and then disappear to who knows where, to the point where individuals were cutting their own slices because the staff was nowhere to be found. To top it off, our sheet cakes were never served at the wedding because Stoddard's staff didn't realize we had more than the tiered cake (they ask us about coffee service but not if we have more cake when literally the tiered cake was only enough for half our guests?). These are the types of things that we dealt with during our wedding day, which are not a big deal when considered individually, but when you are paying thousands of dollars to hire professional caterers because you know you will be busy during the event you expect a little more common sense.

Stoddard's catered our wedding and we had an amazing experience. We had a pig roast with a couple sides and our guests raved about the food. The presentation with the whole pig and apple in the mouth was the icing on the cake. The staff at our wedding were unbelievable and Jerry and Briana were both a joy to work with as well! They truly made our day very special!
