No trip to Wisconsin is complete without a ceremonial smuggling of a trunk-full of New Glarus beer. This magical brew is only available in the cheese state and in high demand around the country. When visiting family in Milwaukee, you MUST make a stop to stock up on this craft brew. The New Glarus Brewing Company was founded by Deborah Carey as a gift for her husband, Daniel. Before starting the New Glarus Brewing Company, Dan Carey was an experienced diploma master brewer. Today the company brews a variety of beers, with its Spotted Cow label leading in sales. New Glarus brewing employs about 90 people today. The brewery made the choice to pull out of Illinois sales effective 2003 leading to the sale of New Glarus beer 'Only In Wisconsin' for all time.So enough about the beer now on to Piggly Wiggly. First off, that name is amazing. I've heard of the chain before and know that it's quite reputable. On our drive from Milwaukee to St. Louis, this particular Piggly Wiggly is the PERFECT stop for a beer pickup. The alcohol selection at Piggly Wiggly is amazing! There were so many amazing craft beer selections, all of which were Wisconsin based! The Piggly Wiggly had every selection available from New Glarus. From Spotted Cow to Moon Man, we had so many options. There were also so many other brewery options. We got beers from Point brewery and also from MKE Brewery and Great Dane. Loved their focus on local. As for the actual grocery portion of this store, I can't comment too much. We walked around briefly and it was... a store! We did want to buy some pretzels for our journey, but there were only two lines open and they were packed. Would have loved to have seen more lanes open to get patrons through quicker. At the end... my biggest feedback is that if you're driving south from Milwaukee and are looking for a quick stop to get New Glarus beer to enjoy at your final destination, Piggly Wiggly is your best bet.

I have to do this because I find the ignorance comical... this is what you get when you ask for paper between your deli... literally, one slice of cheese for every piece of paper. We've had to ask for it like this because otherwise it's scattered and breaks apart before it gets home... I paid $6.00/lb for paper.

I have found that the older employees are jerks. I noticed that the milk case is full of mold. Maybe the employee that takes care of this area should do his job instead of defending other bad employees.

I have not shopped there for two years due to several bad experiences! First, I was ordering from the deli and I was next after two women who were already being served. A woman walked up just then and the deli employee asked what she wanted and waited on her, while I stood waiting. Finally, the next employee finished with her customer and as I moved forward (obviously next in line), a man walked up and she waited on him! By6 this time I have had enough - I left my cart and went to the office to ask for the manager. He came - I explained what had happened and his response was "We don't have tickets for the next customer", no apology or any concern whatever! Second, I complained about advertised items being out of stock and not getting rainchecks for some. I also complained online, I received no responses at all - no email, texts, calls, or anything! I will continue to shop at stores that treat their customers with respect and caring! This - Obiously - does NOT include Delavan Piggly Wiggly!

I had a reasonable visit here last week while at a conference. I had productive interactions with two shoppers, two clerks, and the checkout clerk. they have reasonable to slightly high end stuff, not quite bougy, but nicer than walmart. I would go back. I hope I don't run into the owner based on other reviews.

These are the rudest nastiest people working in this store. I am shopping in Walworth from now on. Will someone please open another grocery store in this area so I have a good place to shop. Thank you Piggly Wiggly for your rude employees and terrible service. I will add that the deli is horrible and the meat is low quality. I never buy meat here.

I just comment on thier website. I finally had enough of the rudeness of the deli department and the bakery is right there too. They have some employees that are just down right rude to customers. I've witness this many of times watching the interactions with the staff and customers, it has happened to me more times than not ,I stopped getting lunch meat there and just went to lake geneva country meats, which sells boars head cheaper and definitely has a more professional staff. Read my review on thier website I was just speaking the truth, and thier reply was " I'm sorry you're going though a hard time and sincerely hope things get better for you" lol this is the perfect example of the lack of professionalism and rudeness. Fyi check out lake geneva country meats and Wilson meats, prices r the same as the pig and both places blow the pigs meat away. And once the season hit Pearce farms has the best produce in the area . Daniels in walworth has the best deli bar and sandwiches ,3 times the choices that the pig offers. And of course chips, snacks cereal, milk way cheaper at Walmart. Angelos in Richmond has very affordable meats,Walgreens has deals always on pop and candy and jewel always has the best prices on pop and very good bakery items.
