Stags Tavern

Went last Friday for fish fry. 2 fried cod, 1 baked cod, all with potato pancakes. Also had mac n cheese for the table. Everything was excellent and portions are large. The server was efficient and very pleasant. Prices are responsible. We are all pleased and will return. Stags Tavern is highly recommended.

Tonight was only my second time here, but I will become a regular!Absolutely love the fish fry/bakedHomemade potato pancakes absolutely delicious !We got in right away. Service was phenomenal. It looks like Monday night is ladies night with fun events!Bar manager actually came up and asked how everything was super nice touch!!

Stags Tavern opened recently in the old Sports Corner Bar & Grill location. I wasn't a huge fan of Sports Corner, but was open to seeing if Stags was any different, especially when I saw they had $4 burgers on Mondays. My family came with and we dined in for dinner. I ordered a cheese burger with an extra patty and sour cream & chive fries, my wife got a cheeseburger with tater tots, my oldest kid got a cheeseburger with regular fries, and my youngest got a grilled cheese with regular fries. We also got cheese sticks and six wings with Jamaican jerk sauce.The cheese sticks weren't huge, but we got eight in the order. The cheese was on the sharp side, so clearly not mozzarella. They were fine, but not my favorite.I vastly prefer rub to sauce on wings, but I'm a sucker for Jamaican jerk flavor so I wanted to try them anyway. There was plenty of heat and some Jamaican jerk flavor, but like the cheese sticks, they weren't my favorite. I wouldn't get this flavor again if I get the wings again at all.The kids grilled cheese looks like it was a good size. He ate it without complaints.The tater tots, sour cream & chive fries, and regular fries were all good. The regular fries seemed like they might have been lightly battered and were my preference of the three.We all thought the burgers were great. The patties seemed like they were hand formed and not out of a frozen box, which is very appreciated. I thought the seasoning tasted like McCormick Montreal steak seasoning, which is fine in small amounts, but can overpower a burger real quick if overseasoned.The Monday deal is $4 for a quarter pound burger and you can add a side for $4 more. Make sure you specify that when you order and don't just say "a cheeseburger with fries" because they will charge you the regular menu price for a larger burger with fries. My wife and oldest son didn't think to specify the $4 burger and the server didn't clarify which size they wanted, so we didn't discover the mix up until we got the bill and it was $10 more than expected. They were able to adjust it for us, so it all worked out in the end.I look forward to coming again on Mondays for the $4 burger deal and checking out their other menu items and specials, especially the Friday fish fry.

Friendly place. The food was good and so were the drinks. The server was really great about making recommendations for my friend who is a fussy eater.

After a long Monday, I did not want to cook. I pass this place every day and saw it was a new name & new ownership. Tonight we thought we'd check it out. Totally impressed! We ordered pizza, boneless chicken and sour cream & chive fries. The pizza was absolutely amazing, the food was fantastic!!! I'm so excited to have a place where the food Is great and a place to hang out with my girlfriends & its close...I am so happy. This place was remodeled. the food is so good, definitely check it out!!!

It brings me great pain to give this establishment only two stars, a rating I have never doled out. CONTEXT: me and my squad went to Sports Corner Bar (what this place was previously) on the reg for piles of hot buffalo wings. Sure it was a dive, but the beers were cold and cheap and the wings were hot and plentiful. STORY: When we saw this place was under new management we were skeptical but hopeful. "Stags Tavern" sounded pretty solid to us, probably going to be the same old experience. Upon walking in we could tell that we weren't in Kansas anymore. This place was really gussied up upon walking in. The ambiance had a real lady's touch now. What has happened to our place which cared little for appearances but much for camaraderie, spirits, bar food? We became skeptical. When we saw the menu, we guffawed, "basic" we thought. I mean, everything seemed nice, but the offerings struck us as anything else one would find on the menu of any millennial-run establishment (full disclosure: we are millennials and do not know the status of new owners). They may be quite tasty but we were only here for wings. Having two sizes of wing orders in its own menu section, with many sauce options, it's surprising none are actually spicy. We ordered wings and asked if their hottest sauce was actually spicy. The young server (not to be mistaken with Bobbi, a true bartender who still graces this bar following its transition) asked if she should bring us Tabasco. "What?" We thought. TABASCO?! RIP to our wing joint. I'm sure this place is great for most things, but it just isn't what it once was. Everyone was very kind and I wish them the best of luck. I'm just a fella who misses his wing joint where memories were made and mouths were lit ablaze.

Service was perfect.Food was very poor. My $19 smash burger was ok, but nothing special. The fries although, were soggy the second they came out. My wife had the same problem with her fries, and she didn't even finish the "little" patty melt. Hardly any onions or cheese.We will never go back to Stags.

If the place wasn't so loud, it'd be great. It was packed on a Wednesday at 5:00. We got a table in the bar area, and our server was there 2 minutes later getting our drink order. All night long, the service was friendly and prompt. The food was better than I was expecting. The place has a roadhouse feel to it. I had a gyro and my wife had a chicken sandwich and both were way above average for this kind of place. Great food and service. So what's not to like?It's LOUD! We probably won't come back. But we had a pretty good experience.

'Great' Atmosphere!, 'Great' Food/Drinks! and 'Great' Activities! Love this place! I'm so glad that they are in our area!

For our first time here, we were not expecting the food or service we received. The food and our server Jessica exceeded our expectations and were amazing! We will definitely be back again!
