Always good food. Delicious French onion soup. Today I had the French Dip with pepper jack and mushrooms--outstanding.

Service was excellent. The staff were very friendly. The food took longer than usual to arrive, but it was a busy Friday night. Food is 6/10

I saw a picture of Spanky's combo fish fry (perch, cod, and shrimp) a few weeks back and wanted to give that a try the first chance I could. With the combo fish fry I ordered potato pancakes for the side and cheese curds as an appetizer.The cheese curds were ok. I couldn't exactly place the kind of breading; it looked almost cornmeal-like but wasn't quite because they were crunchy and didn't sit in a pool of grease that they had absorbed like typical cornmeal breaded cheese curds. I wouldn't be opposed to getting them again, but wouldn't object to trying something else first either.The best part of the combo fish fry was the shrimp, which was clearly out of a frozen box of shrimp that they just quickly deep fried. The breading for the cod and perch completely lacked salt which made them both underwhelming. The potato pancakes themselves tasted fine, but as you can see in the picture I provided, the syrup was extremely thick. I literally had to use a knife to spread it on top of the pancakes instead of being able to drizzle it like at any other restaurant. I can't even speculate how syrup gets to be that consistency, but I didn't care for it. The only good thing I can say about the combo fry besides the shrimp was the fact that you get a fair amount of food for the price.

I have lived in this community for 3 years and just found this wonderful little bar with great food and live entertainment. I had been seeing their signs all over Thiensville but they were always in weird places that pointed to nothing so I wasn't sure what to think. A few times, the signs actually pointed to the river so I thought it was a joke! Tonight, because I really wanted BBQ badly (and love to support businesses in my community), I got the not so brilliant idea to use GPS. After following a very convoluted pathway around what was practically my back yard, I drove right to the place. It was totally worth it!The workers were friendly. The atmosphere was low key but welcoming. It was clean and unassuming. Nothing fancy. Truly a hideaway but kinda cute! There was a band playing happy music and people sitting inside and outside. The crowd was having a good time in a respectful adult way. Nobody acting out or being rowdy. It was a happy night right before Labor Day but everybody was enjoying the night with dignity. I ordered 1/2 rack BBQ ribs. It came with Cole slaw, bread, and a side order. I got onion rings. The bread was burned and inedible and I NEVER risk my life with Cole slaw BUT the ribs ... OMG! They were so goooooooooood! Yummy, tender, juicy, sauced nicely, cooked well, and not burned! So many places char them when you do take out and send you home with inedible meat, this restaurant treated me like they wanted me to come again! I definitely will!!

Arrived with the team 10 minutes before kitchen closes. The server was amazingly friendly and helpful taking our order expedited! Grilled wings we're so flavorful and yummy and I'd definitely go back

Got greeted like family, great Bloody Mary, food was on point. And obviously leaving the best for last the service was great, kind, communicative, friendly. A small place to have a great Wisconsin time for sure, a must try. Environment was great, just homey all and all. Brenda was our server and she was just amazing. A must come and try.

That middle aged blond woman has got to be one of the most incompetent and disrespectful people EVER. Took 20 mins to just get DRINKS, touching my girlfriend and I on the shoulders, and quite literally BEGGING us to stay after we got up and left in the middle of ordering because it was so terrible! Would give 0 of I could, and I hope so never see that woman again

The apps were great and so were the first two bites of my burger. Service was ok. Everything was great until there was two beard like hairs on my plate. I was charged half price for my entree and was told that the kitchen staff were clean shaven. The owner proceeded to tell me the hair may have blown into my plate. Not impressed with this resolution. To the owner of Spanky's, apologize for the situation, offer to replace the entree and comp a $12.50 meal or offer a gift certificate to come back. I won't be back. I will however tell others how rude the owner was.

Came in for a Friday night dinner. Seated and our drink order submitted. Another server came and told us we HAVE TO MOVE, from our reserved table with two chairs. Said they now need it for 4 people. reached under us, and grabbed our flatware. Offered us an aisle table, in the only walkway for bringing out food to the tables. Told them we did not want to sit on the aisle. They then said one table is open in the back room, which is dilapidated quite cold with a direct draft. Told a server about the cold, so she offered another table. The woman from behind the bar said we can not sit there either. She wants that for 6 people. Quite mean and aggressive women running the show. Quite uptight for a shack of a restaurant. Unpaved parking lot and dilapidated. Left them with sharing our story with neighbor friends. Was once a brothel. Ha!
