Recently moving here from So Cal, where food trucks are "gourmet destinations", we felt lucky to stumble upon South Padre Streetfood. We first experienced it at the Rock County farmers market, and then again at the Beloit farmers market. We first tried the lobster mac and cheese, on several occasions, each time consistently very good. They told us they post their locations on the Facebook page, along with specials, so we followed them. We happily found that their truck was routinely downtown, on Main Street during the week, except Monday's. One day they had a "Mahi Mahi Taco" special. Only a few blocks away, we stopped by and let me say, they are very good with the right about of heat. It came with chips, beans and salsa. Nothing packaged, everything fresh. They were so good, we went and got a second order, they were that good. They post their daily specials and being only a few blocks from our neighborhood, this has become a lunchtime destination. They also deliver and have catering, which I intend on using in the future.

Very good, excellent prices for the high quality seafood. I love the "seafood mac" which is really a lobster pasta (bow tie pasta not macaroni). The lobster and other seafood choices are seasoned with a Cajun style and the service is personable and prompt. Like so many small food businesses, looks like their reputation has suffered a little from unscrupulous third party delivery service - remember the restaurants have little control over these so I do think it's best to find the food truck and get it straight from them. I don't like all the Styrofoam and plastic involved, the Pandemic really has generated so much unrecyclable garbage. Still, please don't litter. I also want to warn you, this tasty delicious food is messy. We spilled some lobster juice somewhere in the car and have tried everything to eliminate the lingering odor to no avail. If you have to eat in a car, borrow your brother-in-law's car, or anyone else who borrowed one of your power tools and never returned it.

Ordered through EatStreet. Food came in open containers inside a used grocery plastic bag. Gross. Food was nothing great for the price.Update: the grocery bag wasn't their fault, probably the delivery person from EatStreet had this bright idea The ceviche was very good. Lobster mac and cheese too salty.

Chad put together a spectacular meal for three tonight. My wife and I are from Southern California (fresh seafood and Mexican food galore) and my brother-in-law, who set the deal up with Chad, is a professional in the food business himself...he runs Stormy's in Janesville's "fairer weather" months. We know comida mexicana, and it was LEGIT! Seasoned chips, outstanding salsa fresca, super hot sauce, flaky and perfectly seasoned fish, really interesting (in a good way!) and tasty (lime-noted) beans, fresh and creamy slaw, JUMBO truly mouth-watering shrimp, soft corn tortillas, and two types of soup (Vegetable Beef and Turkey)...Chad aimed to please, and he really hit the mark! Positively outstanding all the way around!

Have been so excited to try out their food because I've heard rave reviews! Not sure if it was just a bad night but I tried the $16 Shrimp Poutine (saw picture on their post and was dying to try it) but it looked nothing like the picture, fries were burnt to a crisp, and the shrimp was overcooked and chewy. Disappointed & very underwhelmed.

The mahi-mahi po' boy was delicious. The fried potatoes were delightfully crispy outside and buttery soft inside--like a truly elevated French fry. The accompanying homemade pickles were also delicious.

I can't say how amazing Chad and his crew were and how tasty the food was! We hired them for a family event with about 35 people (and we can eat a lot)! We started with fish or black bean tacos. Everybody raved about them! Super filling! Then we did a huge boil, dirty rice, twice baked potatoes, gumbo and salads. So good!!!! And Chad was an amazing sport! He got a flat on the way in and kept in touch. There was a big storm in the middle of the party and they powered through and our pool party turned into a super fun garage party. He was super responsive when we started talking about the reservations and arranging the menu. I was doing this from California and felt totally comfortable with everything. I can't recommend them enough.

The Mac and cheese is the absolute truth with a descent amount of seafood inside. The crab cakes are really good as well. I didn't like the dipping sauce too much but that's my personally preference. I just dipped the crab cakes into the Mac and cheese lol! First seafood place I've found In Janesville.

Anyone that would leave a review less than 5 stars for this food is one of 3 things:1- a d-bag that will never be happy with anyone's service, anywhere.2 - a smoker that has minimal taste buds and a terrible palate.3 - Or a lying a-hole that needs to be slapped.I've been eating from this truck for what seems like a decade. By far the freshest fish and seafood in the area. Excellent service, and professionalism are a staple at South Padre Streetfood.
