Sobelman's Pub & Grill Waukesha

My husband went to Sobelman's for lunch with friends, and raved about the "best patty melt I've ever had in my life!" upon returning home. So a week later, we stopped there for lunch, and he was pleased to see we had the same server he and his friends had, an extremely friendly and polite young man named Kai. We were dumbfounded to learn he'd only been working there for a month at that time; he had the flair and poise of being an excellent and long-time server.And my husband was right - the patty melt was a sandwich from which dreams are made! The meat was juicy and perfectly cooked, served on grilled rye with a very generous portion of caramelized onions (Yay! Onion lover here!), and brick cheese, made by Widmer Cheese in Theresa, one of our favorite cheese haunts, rather than the traditional Swiss. Truly, this was a patty melt - and aptly named the Widmer Melt - like none other. Caramelizing the onions to bring out their rich sweetness, and the genius of using mild brick cheese transformed your average patty melt into something sublime. And the battered French fries that were served, piping hot, along with the sandwich were crisp and very tasty.Go to Sobelman's NOW and enjoy a Widmer Melt and fries - and hopefully with Kai as your server!

I have had a sobelmans gift card sitting in my email inbox for a while... we were in the area and decided to grab dinner! I have only been to the mke location in the past, and personally I think this one is better. Cheaper prices too, thanks Waukesha county!Our server was amazing. She is one of the best servers I've had in a long time. She was quick, on top of all her tables, and great at anticipating our needs.We shared a soft pretzel for an appetizer - yum! I got the Cali burger but changed the cheese and added a fried egg. Sweet potato fries on the side. My husband got a cheeseburger and fries, my son got chicken strips and fruit. We all shared French silk pie too. The food was delicious. I enjoyed the jalapeno ketchup so much that we bought a bottle to take home. (Only $3.)The restaurant was a little dark, but not too noisy and there was ample space even though it was pretty busy. Unfortunately, I was not able to use my gift card at the end of the meal. This location only accepts physical ones. Oh well!

Nestled in the armpit of Carrol University, this Waukesha favorite is worth a parking ticket (just kidding, there is plenty of free community parking in Waukesha). The food is above average for a rural suburb but expected, it's a straight shot from Milwaukee. The staff are on the sharp side of cheddar. The dining room isn't large and there's direct access to the bathrooms like at home, so don't look while the door is being opened.

The "Yam Good Burger" now til the end of November!!! Come get one, seriously awesome!

First timer on a Friday night. Well staffed and friendly service - ordered various burgers and all were great. Recommend and will return.

They're famous for the bloodys, so you can't go wrong here. I ordered the Bourbonado, which comes with three hunks of BBQ chicken wrapped in bacon and all of the other garnishes. Recommend ordering it spicy so it has a bit of a kick, otherwise I found the regular mix to be a bit bland. The menu has a large variety of bar food options. My family is a huge fan of the hangover burger - it's big and juicy, so make sure you have a few napkins on hand. Since the bloodys can be nearly a meal in themselves, I think the kids meals are the perfect compliment. You can't for wrong with two chicken strips and tots for $5. It's a fun vibe inside. Can get a bit loud and the lights are low. When all of the tables are full the service can be a tad slow, but everybody is incredibly kind and will make sure you're taking care of.

If you like burgers and you know the MKE burger scene then you know that a few places are the 'go to' burger places. Sobelmans is one of those places. (AJ's, Oscars, et al....if you know, you know).Burgers and Bloody's are the fare and the reputation is well deserved.This location is not as 'Milwaukee-y' as the OG on St, Paul Ave, but it's convenient and consistent. On this visit, the monthly burger special - 'Aloha, Beaches!' was on order and was a good, solid burger. Others enjoyed the loser and the sobelman. Solid sammys all around.The tap beer selection is usually pretty good, if not seemingly IPA focused. The tap prices are reasonable as well, especially the monthly tap special.One special note: I did not know they offered dessert here and a 'Blueberry Rhubarb Pie' sign caught my eye. (Big rhubarb fan here...) I was told it was from nearby Periwinkles Bakery and decided to take a piece home. AM I GLAD I DID! The sizeable piece was Scrumdiddlyumptious! (look it up, it for realz means really good). I am glad I saw the sign.If you want a burger and this is convenient, there are worse choices to get a fresh hand made burger.

I was expecting more for a place known for burgers. They had a great selection but to be honest the hamburger meat was probably the most bland tasting I've ever had. It had NO flavor at all. Anyone can load up a burger with interesting toppings but I always get a plain burger to judge the quality of the meat. The place was really loud. They could tone down the music a few ticks. We had a party of 5 at a table and had to yell to carry a conversation. Service was ok. Really busy so didn't get my refill until dinner was done so everyone had to wait until I finished to leave. Probably won't be back. Twice was enough.

I was looking for a place for lunch and found this place on Google maps. It looked like an old school neighborhood pub and the food did not disappoint. Sam was our server and did a great job of taking care of us. We all ordered different types of hamburgers which brought no complaints from the group. I had the burger of the month which was cooked perfectly and the bun was one of the best I have had in a long time. Overall a very good experience
