Sly's Midtown Salooon and Grill

Food is very good. I am a fan of the patty melt on a hard roll. Prices are great and service is good

This bar was a welcome respite during our downtown shopping excursion with 3 children and 4 adults. While it may sound odd to bring your kid into a bar, in Wisconsin it's really not all that unusual. The bartender was a lovely woman, but was just filling in and seemed a little overwhelmed as the number of customers in the place increased over the time that we were there. But we didn't really mind that we had to remind her to give us another round. Because she and the other patrons, let our children play darts to their hearts content. Which gave the adults time to order some french fries mozzarella sticks and a round of Boody Mary's (or two).Food was pretty standard bar fare, but it hit the spot. The Bloody Mary's were great. Made by hand to our taste. And plenty of garnishes upon request.

This is a very casual joint. On a Sunday afternoon, it took a little bit to get served, but we were glad we waited.We had the braut sandwich plate, substituting fries for potato salad. The braut sandwiches were fabulous, but needed more mustard and sauerkraut. (I asked and added more mustard.) Fries were battered and crispy. Yum!) The beans were meh... like out of a can. Pass.The server and cook were friendly, and changed the loud golf audio to basketball game when asked. (No one was watching golf.)Prices are reasonable, and this bar has a decent grill, and seems to be a local spot.

Ridiculously quiet on a Thursday night. Good music, friendly bartender Bree. I played darts for a bit, had a Tito's and tonic and headed back to my hotel. The do have a grill, but it was late and the kitchen was closed.

We were visiting family in Sheboygan from out of town and came here for food on Sunday night when much was closed. All was good and really reasonable! We mostly had burgers; one had double brats. I had steak sandwich (which is really a chopped beef hamburger) which was good and very large. All were served on fresh "hard" rolls. The fries were very good as were the onion "rings". It's not that it was super special, but I definitely would go back.The only confusion is I was thinking of getting a beer and asking about the different local beers but decided to pass. I guess the bartender misunderstood and thought I ordered one bc he poured one and left it on the bar. We didn't realize it until we were paying to leave. And yes, he charged us for it. It was pretty good - we all took a few tastes before we left, but really didn't get to enjoy it.

Checked out the karaoke on a Friday night. The place was a rockin, don't bother knockin. Lots of characters here. Interesting scene. We especially enjoyed the gentleman at the bar who was rocking out in his own world, everybody else be damned. Good for him. Also some of the singers were more practiced than most of the other karaoke singers we have heard.

Great place for Brats, beverages and local conversations. The owner came to our table and we had an entertaining conversation for a half hour. When asked which accompaniments you want on your Brat, the proper answer is "yes!"

Burger great. French dip shitty. First bartender great. Second bartender a total piece of shit. The second bartender came in accused me of being a thief by demanding a credit card to put against tab when myself and my wife were trying to eat our dinner why can I order two cocktails, Two diet cokes and our dinner order with out the first bar tender requesting a card. But our food comes out I order a third cocktail and the second hoe bag piece of shit bar tender demands a credit card while we are trying to eat our dinner. Will not go back. Really wanted to like this "dive bar".

Tried having breakfast here today but left without ordering. Entered to blank stares and no acknowledgement from staff despite not being very busy. Went to bar to get menu and was deeply disappointed by choices. Place smelled of cigarette smoke despite no smoking allowed. Just didn't feel like we exited to stay so we departed. I guess if you're a regular you're welcome, but so others need not enter!

Visiting Sheboygan to view beautiful fall colors . Staying at a pretty good hotel downtown on the river. Looking for a good grilled burger. Enticed by tempting grilled meat aroma emanating from Sly's, Going in ready to order. Ignored by bartender; not one evening but two consecutive evenings!!! Not sure if it was our masks or because we weren't locals, or because we didn't present as white. Not giving small minded and discriminatory businesses like that any of our hard earned money. Had a similar experience at a steak place up the street the same night. Is this how Sheboygan natives treat visitors who don't look and think like them?
