Slice's Bar & Grill

This little bar is tucked away in an unassuming area and doesn't look like much from the outside. Inside, a friendly staff, plenty of entertainment, cheap drinks and great food. Tried their fish fry Friday night and was blown away by the portions of perch vs the price. Flaky fish, light breading, perfectly fried, it was delicious! Old Fashioneds were spot on. Enjoyed the fact they have a breathalyzer so you can scientifically check how inebriated you are. It was crowded and there is not a lot of space so get there early.

Love this place, great food, stiff drinks, friendly staff, owner is in the bar. Great fish fry, nice crowd. One of the best burgers in town.

Excellent dive on the near east side housed in an unassuming shack. Great for folks in recc sports leagues or looking to eat classic bar staples.

First visit here since Covid and it was very good. Yep, it's a dive bar, torn seat covers and messy view of kitchen area but a great bartender, server and excellent food. Bacon cheese burger was different in a good way as was the fries and tater tots. Plus it's open on Mondays which few restaurants are! Give it a shot if on this side of town. (near the ice arena). street parking.

Hidden Gem! I hadn't been here in more than 20 years.. pretty much forgot about it until recently. Friend and I wanted a burger and ended up here... sooooo happy we did!!Clean, friendly, great burgers, good beer selection.. and super reasonable prices! Burger was legit! Cooked on the flat top so has some crunch, and cooked medium. Bun is nice and fresh. Fries came out super hot and ready to eat. Been back a few times since rediscovering, and it will now be in my regular lunch rotation. Stop in and check it out!

Probably the best burger in Madison and I stand by it. I wish I could have tried the fish fry! Will most certainly come back.

If you have never been, this is unassuming as it gets. Great bar, great food and great staff! The service is great! The burgers are TOP NOTCH! The buns are awesome, they are light and not heavy to overpower the burger. They hold up to the burger when eating as well. Soup and chili was available as well.
