3.5 rounded up. I came on a late Sunday afternoon about 30 min before closing so I will give this place the benefit of the doubt. It's cute, it's Swedish and it has a lot of variety! Not to mention it was quite popular! I loved the selection of hot chocolate options and the translation for each. However I wasn't very impressed by the French one I ordered (dark chocolate plus vanilla). It was good but not as decadent as I was anticipating and even with 30 min to close I asked to dine in but they gave me everything in Togo containers. I also got a Swede sandwich- which was ham, Swiss and Dijon mustard. Nothing to write home about. It was very very average. However I did get an almond cookie with chocolate ganache which was fantastic. Sitting at a table in this shop and looking at all the treats was great. I have a feeling if I come back at an earlier time this place could really blow me away, but as of right now. It's mid. I'm not impressed and what was left at the end of the day was just average. Also the three items cost me about $20 so I would say this place Is on the pricer end

Sjölinds is a "Scandinavian Style" bakery / coffee shop / chocolate shop. It has a very Scandinavian feel to it, without being specifically of one certain country. Their savory pastries are really great. I like the "Finnish pie," which is a pastry crust with some hearty, nicely seasoned pork and onions inside. They have a few different kinds. They have the best coffee in Mount Horeb, and also the best Swedish meatballs. The atmosphere is very homey. You can sit there all morning and meet new people. It's kind of an artistic center in Mount Horeb. At least one local novelist has written whole books there. Highly recommend.

We found this great place while looking for some coffee in town and came back the next day with our kids. It has a full espresso bar but also pastries, quiche, and some salads and soups. Scandinavian foods are a speciality, including Finnish pies and Swedish meatballs, and tea cakes. I ate some of the best scones I have had in a long time: crisp on the outside and crumbly on the inside.

When I saw they had Swedish meatballs with lingonberries, it was a done deal that we'd be eating there! This is a lovely cafe, with a delectable array of desserts (that we didn't try) and a nice lunch menu. I had the pea soup, which came with a few tasty croutons on the side and the offspring and I both had the meatballs. The portion was generous and the meatballs were very tasty. If you're accustomed to those at IKEA, these are a bit softer and maybe a titch bigger. The rye bread was gorgeous - toasted perfectly and amazing with butter. The offspring approved of the meatballs and actually ate most of theirs. They also have a nice selection of chocolates and a few other candies, and I could not leave without a package of handmade hazelnut marshmallows. There's plenty of seating (lots of space in the back) and they had lovely art on the walls (I assume supporting local artists). We'll be back!

If you are looking for a Christmas gift for someone, this would be a great place! It is very quiet, and cozy inside.I came here and got the Swedish yellow pea soup, and for dessert, the German chocolate cake. The soup was good, and it came with crisp toast (almost like a crouton) to dip in it. The chocolate cake was delicious, and had this gooey coconut frosting on top. I also got a German hot chocolate with gingerbread spices in it. I will be ordering that again! This is a really nice place, and I recommend it.

I would post pictures of the amazing gumbo I had this Sunday morning, but I ate it too fast to think to take one. It was seasoned so perfectly, I loved it. They always have amazing food and their Sunbuckle cookies are melt in your mouth delicious. The interior is also so cute and cozy with so many varieties of goodies around you. Waitstaff and other workers are always open to giving more details and answering questions about their food and goods too. I always leave Sjolinds satisfied and enticed to return.
