Sista's Chicken and Fish

A few weeks ago, I visited Sistas Chicken and Fish at Olbrich Gardens during Olbrich After Hours, and wow--it did not disappoint! Madison doesn't have too many spots for great fried chicken, but this place nailed it. I went for the 6-piece dinner with fries and bread, plus a side of fried okra. Everything was seasoned just right and cooked to perfection. Every single bite was so delicious!

Went here for Black Restaurant Week, and after going once we will be back! Since they are a food truck, it was great that it didn't take long at all to get our food and we could eat it as more of a picnic. The staff working was very friendly and even had us try out some samples of fried green tomatoes that they are thinking of putting on the menu. We got to try a couple iterations of them and give our take. We can't wait to see what he decides on for the final product.As for the food, we ordered the chicken sandwich, 4-piece catfish filet, and the fried okra. The okra was small cube segments that were nice and crunchy. We were expecting full okra pieces, but this was a pleasant surprise. The catfish filet had a good breading, but felt a little greasy or just wet. This could have been that the fish was just a little too wet when the breading went on, because based off of the fries, fried okra, and fried chicken, they clearly know how to deep fry correctly. The fries were soft on the inside and crisp on the outside without being greasy, just like we like them. They also weren't very salty. The chicken sandwich was our favorite. It was crunchy, it was flavorful, and it benefited from the super secret fried green tomatoes. We're not sure if it needed the American cheese, but whatever.Overall, very good food for very good prices. We can't wait to get back to try more of the menu!

Go! It's hard to find good catfish in town. I love their catfish! I typically get the combo with wings and fries. Love love love that they have mild sauce on the side! Follow their social media: Facebook and Instagram. This is where they give updates about specials and locations. They are mostly at the Wingra Post Office location. I'd recommend going after the lunch rush. Food is still fresh and so delicious. I'm excited to try new sides and specials every time I go. Highly recommend their red beans and rice and the peach cobbler pound cake (specials). Enjoy!

I have attempted to reach them for weeks about purchasing food for our 200-person family reunion in June. After ten or more phone calls, Facebook messages & text messages that have all gone unanswered. We are going to choose another option. I'm very sad about this b/c we really wanted to spend our money with a black-owned restaurant listed online as very good. I would like to give more stars, but I will not be able to comment on the food. The customer service doesn't appear to be great at this point.

Amazing food and amazing service!!! Would definitely recommend! Had the frog legs and the hush puppies all amazing!

Fantastic food, friendly and charming family ran establishment! Catfish fried perfectly, seasoned perfectly, great weekly specials, excellent jerk chicken! Could eat like this everyday!

chicken wings were ok but that jerk chicken was nasty not good at all and fries tasted old

Amazing chicken and catfish. I wish they were a brick and mortar location. They give you a sauce for your chicken and fish that is delicious. I highly recommend them. Fresh and leaves you with a satisfied stomach.

Great Catdaddy sandwich. Great flavor and the fries and Cole Slaw are great compliments
